2 days ago installed new update,since that time it stopped counting my steps when my phone is anywhere but in my hand. It used to count with my phone in my bag x in my jeans pocket etc. Now it is useless,it's so pitty as this app is provided by sony officially. Yes,the problem is that it is working only eith the screen on,I've just figured it out!
Long-time user of the app - agree with other posters that steps counted and distance covered dropped drastically after the Nov 2, 2016 update. Thanks to the other posters I now know that the steps are not counted when the phone is locked, which makes the app unusable for me. How can I restore the previous behavior? Sony was ahead of the curve when they first added this to their phones many years ago - please fix it or help us find a workaround.
Nice design but unfortunately it counts less steps / km than I actually walked. I think it has improved a bit but it's still not very accurate. And a few weeks ago I removed the widget on my home screen and wanted to create it again. But it keeps saying "Widget has already been created" although it is not there anymore. I want my widget back!!! Obviously, restarting didn't work. Apart from that I like Walkmate.
As I have a Sony Z5 premium I thought this App maybe more compatible with my mobile. My walk using this App showed as a total distance of 2.83 miles which I knew was wrong so after a check using my car and then the Endomondo App they both come in with an average of 6.6 miles!! This App was incorrect over a distance of less than 7 miles by 3.7 miles!!!! Embarrassing inaccurate. Will be using Endomondo from now on.
The UI is very good and informative, but it can't working properly with the SmartWatch (note: Sony SmartWatch 2). It didn't update the steps if I'm not bring along the smartphone. FYI, My SmartWatch is connected all the time via Bluetooth.
Stopped its function like it used to be-- i own z5i compact with 8gb free internal and 32gb free space from a 64gb sd card, class 10 (sony also) ive been using this app for almost 9 mos now and hoping to record all of my activitiss but to my surprise, i backed up records but it didnt backed up. And lately, when im walking, it didnt register my walk yet my sw2 (yes, im a sony fan) Displayed my activity. Too bad this app was nice before but now it got serious problems. I HOPE they support cloud back up, more engagement, like a story telling run etc. Update: THIS IS HORRIBLE. I think IT NEVER REGISTER A PART of your walk. THANKS DEVELOPERS FOR YOUR AWESOME MEDIOCRITY. Its A MAJOR FAULT.
I have used this app for about 2 years and think it was the best of its kind until it stopped worki g. It now resets at 00:00 AND 12:00 so you are likely to never hit your target.
THIS MADE ME MOTIVATE TO WALK EVERY DAY! THANK YOU S9O MUCH IT MAY NOT THAT ACCURATE BUT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME AND I AM MOST THANKFUL WHO EVER TRY TO MAKE IT ^^*)
Highly INACCURATE after update. Good one but stop working, when phone is locked, you have to hold mobile screen on and in ur hand while walking all the time. Improve so it can work,when Mobile get locked and we can put it in pocket while running and walking
Completely useless now. Used to work great but Sony seems to no longer support this app. Which is a shame because that reflects badly on Sony.
No one app will count all steps accurately. If anything it challenges me to take more than is actually counted. 5 stars for this app
Are Sony not listening to all the feedback? Used this app for about 3 years on my Xperia gr8. Then in July17 bought a new Xperia XA1 now the app alters its step counts. Example - Went to bed with 6020 steps from yesterday this morning it gives yesterday's count as 28. Come on Sony
It's best app for step count Also stored your data you can compare with history Am using this app since Feb 2016 But from 20 December it's not working
After a full day of walking and meandering around, recorded 23 steps. Rubbish - uninstalling
I have used Walkmate for 2 years and it suited me fine but since an update last week it does not count all my steps. I checked it and it now measures 50% approx. I will have to stop using it if this can't be fixed
It is full of bugs. Readings of this app are always incorrect. Though it is developed by Sony there are readings conflicts between two apps its own apps like Lifelog and Walkmate.
Now I very much like this app since last update. A lot more useful and good looking. Would like to see some transparency
Since yesterday the app didnt count all the steps. Today i did a 3km walk and it shows only 1.2 km , not good....
Second day in a row that I have wall ed over a mile and only got a hundred steps!! this thing doesn't work!

This app can't connect with lifelog, google fit or other.. And it cannot pair with SWR12.. So it is useless app

It does not proper work in some situation such as in hand otherwise awesome and one of the app for step counting and really it is walkmate.
Unhappy, I knew that it wouldn't be completely accurate so I expected it to be a little off. However, I didn't expect that out of 1000 steps it would only count 100 at this rate I'll never reach my daily goal. At least not anytime soon. ..... Contemplating deleting the app altogether. 🙁

I walked for 8hrs but this thing tells me 25 minutes
I used this app for one year now but for the last month it does not work unless screen is always on. The last update does not address the issue. This is happening on a sony xperia phone. I would have expected sony to fix the app after so much time not working and with all other users reporting same problem.
