Walmart eBooks

This is a great app, EXCEPT I was offered a promotion . i was told by Walmart e books that if I ordered books up to $9.99. The book was free. So O ordered one book for $9.99 and was charged . when I contacted customer service they were no help. Its only $10, but theyre shady. I still like the app. So I just order free books after this.

The audiobook feature needs a way to bookmark. Also, I have accidentally purchased either the ebook version or just the wrong book a couple of times but I haven't been able to return or exchange it. The HELP section states that they will allow a person to return or exchange but I never get a response back when I email them. Audible has the option to do this directly from the app and it makes things much easier. Of course, Audible charges a ridiculous $14.99 for a one book subscription.

This app is pretty user friendly. The only thing I've noticed that I don't like is that when I'm browsing in the audiobook store, it doesn't tell me if I already own an audiobook. Since I get a credit every month, I have over 20 books now, so it's getting harder to remember which books I already own. It would be great for browsing for new audiobooks in the store, it could say, "You own this audiobook," or something, without having to click on it to find that out.

I have had no issues with this app. It is user friendly and i like the filter system when looking for books. When actually reading books on my phone, i wish there wete more color theme options. Amazon is the same way, but i prefer a better color scheme. I know the nook app has more to choose from and 2 of those are easier on the eyes. But overall a good app!

Not a wide selection and I'd rather not scroll through a bunch of books that don't interest me either. There needs to be categories. The reader itself is clunky and doesn't always react to touch or will suddenly make the text either gigantic or tiny. The book I read (James Rollins, The Last Odyssey) was displayed oddly with the edges carrying over onto the next. I also didn't like the way the time remaining displayed. It only gave me the pages left in the chapter and not in the entire book.

Hard to navigate. Seriously? Can not add more than one book to cart? Why did you offer 20 dollars off books notice the s when you can't add more than one at a time. I really wanted to like it. I am not having any problems with the app. I am saying that it's like a bait and switch. I didn't get my tablet for the coupon, it just came with the thing. I am saying if you were not going to add a multiple item cart, just be honest and factual about it. It's a coupon you don't want people to take full advantage of, ok fine. I just won't spend any money on eBooks by you. :) It's super easy to lose a potential customer by pulling that kind of trick.

Really enjoy the app. Love listening to audio books as I'm going about my day. Kobo has also been very good about addressing any issues I've had. The only odd thing for me is that the app plays well for several days, then it just randomly stops when my normal screen saver comes on. Not sure what the root cause of that is. I've just been closing and restarting the app.

works well. $10 discount for signing up doesn't work if you d/l free books first, but i was able to chat online w/ their help personnel who gave me a $10 refund. Free books are how i chose to test the app before spending money on it, as i suspect many people would. I think this is a problem & a bit of misinformation in their advertising, b/c even the fine print didn't mention it, but i'm happy they resolved it & honored their advertising, though it was a headache figuring out how to do that.

Downloading ebooks is good. The additional functions of this app, such as highlighting, and dictionary can be an issue. Error message reads Try Again, or no word in dictionary. The look up word was Purpose. The tablet is the latest model with Android operating system. In addition, the user is not technically knowledgeable. I also have other ebook tablets through other competitors, I can benchmark.

This is so easy to use. I've never tried a different reader so this is my only experience with a reader, but it is simple. I have been reading on this app for 10 months now. It's still easy to use and easy to purchase new books. I love it.

Difficult but worth it. I had 3 deals to save me money but I wasn't informed they can't be used in conjunction with one another until after I read fine print. Then I had trouble opening the books I downloaded, but customer service fixed that so it isn't a problem at all in my opinion. This is not my favorite ebook app by a longshot. But it saved me money and someone took responsibility for the issue so I enjoy it still.

I hate reading forced justify text and there is no setting to switch the text to align left. This creates huge gaps that makes reading difficult and annoying. The developer says that this ability is available by tapping the Tool Icon, but the only Advanced Settings available for the books on my shelf are In-Book Settings, Navigation, Orientation, and Page Transition. Text Allignment is missing.

Make iphone app too. Currently inconvenient to buy books on tablet to listen or read them on phone.

Beware! Registered & requested an audiobook. Great. But this app offers several non-working sign-in options. Won't let me sign in w/Google, I WON'T sign in w/Facebook, and logging in w/Rakutan Kobo, (whatever) gives the runaround over & over; says the password is wrong (when it's definitely not), reset password, then a message pops up that I can't use that because there's already an account with that email address. Yeah, I know. It's mine! Let me sign in to cancel this mess.

I can't say how it works for ebooks, but I suggest avoiding this one for audiobook playback. Frustratingly, audiobooks purchased from Walmart must be played using this or Kobo, which is the same app with a different name. Audiobooks stop playback at random times for no reason I've been able to determine. All their suggested corrections are worthless and at least one deletes all your content. Also, download speeds are glacial. Stick with Audible for audiobooks & you'll be much happier.

I got a free audio book for my trial. The app kept skipping and reversing on its own. Very frustrating to listen through a book when it reverses every time it's interrupted by some notification on my phone. I got better quality with Audible and likely won't be switching out any time soon.

This is the sorriest excuse for an app that I've ever worked with. If it's not crashing, then it's not loading. It freezes and stops. If you're listening to an audiobook and it actually opens, you'd better continue listening until the end of the book because chances are you won't be able to get back in to the app. I'm glad I never subscribed to this service, but even my free book is inaccessible most of the time. I wish I didn't have to use this app to get to that one audiobook. Pos.

Massively long, user-unfriendly and over-complex to actually get to read or listen to first book. It's comical st first but as the hours go by, glee is replaced by burning hatred. My other big qualm is that you can't manually bookmark, as it "automatically syncs itself up." Which would be good not great if it actually worked. Half the time it doesn't, and it's absolutely infuriating.

$5 less than Audible and the app appears to be more functional as well. I might be wrong on app functionality as I haven't yet listened to the book I got, but the app just has a better appearance overall than audible. I have over 100 books in audible so I have plenty experience there. Not sure if walmart ebooks is very nice on a desktop computer though, which is my main complaint when it comes to audible.

The absolute worst app I've ever used...It made me sign in countless times after I downloaded the kobo app which apparently doesnt work any more and signed up on the website. The pages failed to load multiple times causing even more sign ins. Nearly every time I touched the screen to look at something a window popped up asking if I wanted to download using my data or not. The was no stop showing this option it just kept asking. Already uninstalled the app keep your fee book I'll go to Amazon.

With the ability to find eBooks or audiobooks that I can't find anywhere else at a reasonable price, I recommend this app. The subscription is the lowest I've seen since the start of online audiobooks and is well worth it. The app is easy to use and has at least the basic tools wanted for eBooks.

I love this app. I am an avid reader, I usually read at least 3 books a week. I've tried Amazon an kobo but like this one better cause the pages turn like a real book rather then a slide show. I wish ebook apps would offer not just the digital copy but the hard copy as well because I enjoy having the book and collecting them. The only thing I don't like is that I can only buy one book at a time but just learned I can go to kobo website an buy multiple books because walmart an kobo are linked

Be careful, the $10 for new signup is for the first book purchased. It is NOT a gift card style $10. My first book I chose was a FREE book and I lost the $10. It was my fault for not reading it more carefully, I just don't want anyone else doing the same thing. Other than this mishap, I like the service, I just prefer another service, so I removed this one.

Really pissed off because I can't add and pay for more than one book at a time so I ended up using a $20 promo code on 99 cents because I figured I'd go ahead and pay and then try to use it again since I can only pay for one book at a time. But no, of course that didn't work so I lost out on $19 because of this!! And I love to read. What a damn rip off!! I will not be purchasing anything else since I lost out on $19!!

Needs more text control features. Lines seem too close together with no way to adjust them. Margin is too close to the right side of the page with no way to adjust it. Need options to be able to highlight a word and copy it or web search it. Highlighting is to faint when using the dark background.

I just downloaded this app a couple of days ago and downloaded a couple of books. Love that I don't have to keep a light on while the hubby is sleeping and just like most books it is hard to put my phone down with this app!! I love that you can bookmark the page and change to lighting for day and night. Overall I love this app!! It is my first time doing this but so far love it!!

It says I get 10 to use towards my first purchase but when checking out it doesnt give me the option to use it? Does the book have to be over 10 dollars to use it?

1. Unable to use "$10 credit towards your first book". The full $11.99 price of my first book was charged. 2. No "infinite scroll". Once you read a book in scrolling mode (Kindle, iOS ) there's no way to go back. Turning pages becomes such an annoyance, regardless of option (...tap, curl, slide). **Edit : 3. Help/support preferred contact via Facebook or Twitter...on a 3rd party app for Walmart. Too much time, trouble and personal info sharing over $11.99 4.The prices are the same as Kindle.

Would be a 5 star review except there are some books I have read where the next books in the series are not even available for purchase on the app. Otherwise I absolutely love the wide variety of genres and styles of books available for free and purchase to read at your convenience and they don't take up much room to download.

Horrible with preloaded app. Does not give option to add to shopping cart like going the other way from walmart just buy now and wishlist. Totally wasted the credit that came with purchased tablet. Link for help in confirmation email goes absolutely nowhere - site unfound. if i could give 0 i would. many much better apps out there
