Wargames of 1939 FREE
The game features initially 7 scenarios (1 in FREE version), set in the early days of the second world war, when the Nazi Germany launched a full-scale attack against Poland. The Polish army, fighting without allies upheld against the invasion for 2 months but was eventually defeated by the third reich. In this game, the scenarios depict various key battles of the war, ranging from the initial border warfare to the siege of Warsaw.
Fans of hardcore hex strategy games might enjoy the fact that the game has actual World War II era German and Polish combat vehicles and armament, supply line mechanics, artillery counter attacks, maps based on the actual historical battles, and so forth. (Some liberties have been taken in interpreting few of the details, to make the game more entertaining. But we've tried to be as close to the course of events as possible.)
You can play either solo against the AI, or play multiplayer by passing the device between players after each turn. Network multiplayer is not currently supported. The single player game is played from the axis perspective; multiplayer has one player playing the German side and the other Polish side.
In case you'd like to play a quite similar type of a game set in ancient times, you might want to try out our Populus Romanus series also. It has a somewhat similar kind of tactics but in a Roman setting instead of modern times.

best game ever I Give It 5 Stars because you can play multiplayer where you fight against yourself please download this game if you're 7 then download it now I Give It 5 Stars they haven't seen any ads yet but I think they might be included included then that's ok because I'm more focused on the game then the ads war games of 1939 download now free from the Play Store
I've not played this for a while but had the full paid version. I've tried to play it again but it's now asking me to buy it again. Nope.

I played both German and Polish sides against the AI. As German, I sit back and let the AI smash his infantry against my tanks. It is a much greater challenge as Polish finding ways to keep the defense from collapsing while defeating attacking tanks and "calling for reinforcing" tanks and artillery of my own. Bottom line: this is a game in the tradition of Walter Bright's Empire that has little to do with operations or tactics of WW2. For instance, real units cannot be instantly returned to full strength by tapping a heart icon. But as a game, it is an interesting take.
Very clear graphics and game mechanics. The first scenario can be played about 3 times on normal difficulty without getting boring.
Very good game scenario with great graphics and very realistic AI. I got creamed the first few attempts, but finally outsmarted the AI and was victorious. Kudos to developers for a very entertaining game! Puts ALL OTHERS to shame!
It looks a lot like panzer general but simplified a little and the interface is much easier. Well done!

The poles have a superstrong bunker that kills anything I've got and you need 15 artillery shots too defeat it wtf. And artillery support only helps poles too make it nearly impossible to win the first level.
and does have the traditional paper map and counters wargame "I go you go" feel to it. One thing that in my opinion that's missing - air units. This particularly noticeable in a game that pits Germany vs. Poland in 1939 - it just doesn't seem like blitzkrieg without Ju-87's. Note to developer - will aircraft be added down the road? And do you plan on adding scenarios to the paid version? Or a campaign game? If so I will definitely be getting the paid version.
Very fun game. Very enjoyable. I plan to upgrade to the full version, later today. Only thing this game lacks is an Air Force, however it still is alot of fun. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys turn based strategy games!
Nice design. Easy to play. But no stuka's and polish forces who are much stronger than the german. Pol cavelry that destroy a tank batt? Get real. Reinforcements are to few and takes too long to get. I have deleted it as the first level on easy mode is impossible. To win.
Shuts down every time I loose but otherwise its an awesome game!

Quite addictive, but a bit battery thirsty.
There is no historical way Poland puts up this fight, even without the Luftwaffe grounded.
Decent game, similar to the others from the stable. However, significant bug on my nexus 7, each time I screen lock during a game, my nexus reboots. Resets also eat battery like crazy.
I was under the impression Poland's army was no match for the German forces, yet even at level Easy they appear near imortal. Totallyunrealiztic. How can cavallry defeat tanks??? Utter rubbish. No repairs, literally no resources, but Poland keeps adding tons of reinvorcements. And even if it was more realistic, 1 single scenario and you expect me to pay for this? Uninstall. Keep the change.
