As others have posted, the "Caps App" simply launches NHL app on your phone. This is no longer a standalone app, and frankly is a bloated shortcut link acting like an app. Simply no reason to have this on your phone anymore. Uninstalling as soon as I'm done with this review.
NHL is greedy and wants everyone to go through their main site. This app only provide a link to the NHL app now. I recommend finding the last APK version than downloading that one. I don't know if it will still work but it's worth a try.
If I wanted the NHL app I would download it. I really enjoyed the Caps app before, but I am now going to uninstall it because it is completely useless.
Used to be a great Caps app, now just an extension of the generic NHL app. Sad.
Hey man, here's an idea. Let's take one of the best sports websites and completely destroy it replacing it with something that only shows the team schedule. Can't you just see the 5star reviews rolling in. WORTHLESS The team owner is an old AOL guy, did you bother to ask him?
The NHL had to meddle in something good and ruined the app by making it a shortcut to the NHL app. I've since deleted my app because of this update.
I'm guessing this change was NHL mandated but turning a dedicated Capitals app into a shortcut to the Capitals team page on the NHL app is ridiculous. I especially miss my home screen widget that kept me abreast of real time scores for my team, not the entire league. What was the point of this change? I miss my dedicated team app.
For the love of god please go back to the previous version. This makes managing my season tickets a total nightmare compared to the old app. Doesn't appear that i can transfer my tickets to my membership card at all.... which doesn't make sense.

Not only does this app no longer provide anything itself, it now requires you to download and use the NHL app. Less than worthless. Deleting for it's stated lack of purpose.
Obviously money still rules in Washington D.C. i guess winning the presidents trophy and finally getting national coverage for our great team means an opportunity for the powers that be to cash in on all of our dedicated die hard support. We will always rock the red!!! But we will not pay the NHL'S bills just to support and follow our beloved Caps. What a pathetic move from what has otherwise been a high class well represented organization. Shame on you!!! !!!LETS GO CAPS!!!
If you don't put back original app I will uninstall this crap NHL app ,if I wanted NHL app I would download it.
It's basically just a launcher for the NHL app now. I don't have the NHL app nor do I want it so this app is completely useless now.
The CAPS had an amazing app, easy to use for STH access to tickets. This app stinks.
Disappointed in this update and the caps wiget I had on my phone that reminded me of games and showed me the score is gone now also. So stupid. The caps app is just the NHL app now.

The app was great last year. Now the NHL has neutered it and made all teams' apps just a redirect to the NHL app. Uninstalling.
If I wanted to install the clunky NHL app I would have. Looking into other ways to keep up with the Caps.
The Caps App was easy to use and didn't force another app to load. I had to uninstall both this app and the NHL app because they were using too much data - even though I wasn't accessing the app and had notifications turned off and set to use only with WiFi for updates.
I loved my capitals app. It was specifically designed for Washington Capitals fans. The new update merges with the NHL app. If I wanted that, I would have downloaded it. I have plenty of overall sports aps. The widget also is disabled. Uninstalling.
I liked the old app. Now, there isn't the same content available, and I hate the layout. I resent having to download another app, just so this can launch that one. Bring back my Caps App!
This app is terrible. It is 24 hours before my game begins. I bring up the app, scroll down to account manager, tap it and then the same convoluted screen comes up. I hope that I can find a support number to call before the game or else I am going to be very angry
Changing it to a link with the NHL app was a useless change. I always kept the widget with the schedule for the next game on my homepage, but now I cant
NHL app is disappointing. Bring back the old Caps app that only focused on the Caps...
I already had the NHL app, and would open it if I wanted to. Love my Capitals, hate the app now.
I miss being able to look up the live game rosters and stats while listening to the radio feed. This used to be my go to app for following the Caps out of area.
So sad. I feel like an old friend has died. I'll miss my Caps App. And such blatant manipulation by the NHL, now with full control, taking us all under their wing. No thanks. Uninstalling NHL app and the now deceitfully named "Capitals App".
