The App is disgustingly slow, way over complicated. You have no clue how to navigate inside, you'll literally need a guide to know how to do even the basic tasks. Im an engineer and coming from a development background and the UI/UX just isn't good at all. I have read the reviews before purchasing, and I didn't believe till I tried.
So much more value for money than for instance Facer. You do need to be tech savvy to take full advantage. Even the basic mode can be overwhelming. But just for casual use, check out the presets you can choose from - there's dozens upon dozens and you can customize your own watch face. The customisation options are mind boggling. Really worth the buy.
The app has too many options. And that makes it a bit complicated to use. There is a decent amount of watch faces to choose form. A number of them are duplicates. And sadly many of the watch faces are not optimized for always on mode on android. Despites the shortcomings, I think that the app deserves 5 stars because that's one of the few apps that won't charge you a monthly subscription for something simple like a watch face.
great app in terms of being able to personalise so many aspects of the watch face. app does take a little while to get the hang of it. runs smoothly and the watch faces are great on battery life. would be great if there were some basic video tutorials. would also be great if searching pre-made watch faces were easier - i am yet to be able to find a search function rather than just browsing the preset lists.
I really like this watch face app. I have had it for a few years now and originally installed on my Pixel 2. I now have the Pixel 4a and reinstalled it on this phone today. I love all of the choices of watch faces and customization features! Saving my favorites is also a great feature. I do wish the faces could be categorized like seasons, holidays, characters, analog, digital....etc. Searching would be a lot easier that way.
Nice! So far I'm really enjoying the variety of watch faces and customization options. It has a bit of a learning curve if you explore the advanced options but the recommended/default settings will work fine for noobs. M&E is better than all the other Face Maker apps & certainly worth the few bucks or whatever I paid for it, that's for sure
Very comprehensive set of tools that allow you to create pretty much any design. Some people a giving negative reviews due to this complexity, but in my opinion, that is the whole point. There is also a HUGE library of predestined watch faces which alone are worth the cost of this app. Very happy and would recommend if you are looking for total control rather than a basic, quick-fix.
I had difficulty getting the app to load (turned out my android installation was distinctly flakey), but the app developer was really helpful in getting it working. If you can't get the app to appear on your phone when you download it, see if it will work on a different phone or tablet. This convinced me I needed to reinstall Android on my phone and then everything worked. Great app!
Don't get me wrong, the actual faces are very well made BUT the process of getting to them and customizing them aren't well thought out. There is no search function, what you are customizing isn't explained and uses jargon some may not know to describe it, and sometimes the list of faces you can pick doesn't even load. The actual use of the app is nightmarish but once you tough it out I would say the watch faces are worth it.
App is very clattered. Difficult to set up/make it work. You soon realise faces repeat (only minor changes most based on cummunity updates). Out of the box only: current time, watch and phone battery levels and weather. No heart rate option, no calorie count, not even mentioning air pressure. Despite paying for the app itself, the developer requires you to pay extra for additional features. Complete waste of money. Going back to stock watch faces. Want my money back!
Very, very complicated to use. Even toggling off the Advanced functionality the app has too many warnings and disclaimers both in the phone app, and in the watch app. Fine for Devs, but a very confusing experience for the average user. If future development allows, I envision a one-screen simplification with 1000 watch faces, and by one press of the graphic, my watch face is loaded without tweaking or trying to understand all the options. This would work great for non-technical people like me.
Excellent app if/when you get past the installation and setup. It is worth paying for. If you already paid for the app on your phone, do not pay again when you are directed to download the app on your smartwatch - I almost did. Thankfully I read the instructions in FAQ/Help section. They also say in the FAQ not to pay twice. Rather, install the app using your desktop. I did it on the desktop, and I immediately was pleasantly surprised by numerous watch faces!!!
I am unable to use my own weather app as an indicator on the watch. And it somehow doesn't sync with Google fit despite following instructions to get it working. There is some glitchy-Ness when I wish to swap watch faces. Sometimes it is responsive, sometimes it isn't. Wasn't a great experience for me.
Insane amount of presets. Customizing your own watch face takes a bit of time to figure out, but nothing too complicated. I do wish the presets were a bit more organized, in terms of category, color, etc.. but all in all, great app. Not seeing the battery drain issue either.
Downloaded after trying (and buying) several other watchfaces and watchface creation apps. I was happy with them until I tried this. The options for watchface creation and editing are enormous. So many more options than anything else I've tried and hundreds, if not thousands, to download and tweak. An extremely good price and no annoying (and expensive) subscriptions. THANK YOU. PS. Have now also paid for Preset Manager. I'm playing with schedules for different watchfaces daily. Love it!.
I decided to try the app again. For the most part it works but the one function that made this app stand out was the customisation. One key feature is still broken for me: custom backgrounds. This seems to be an issue on handling file selection and other apps have suffered since Android 11 Scoped Storage (but most have been fixed). Regretfully it is still broken in this app so unless I get my old Android 9 device and make the faces their (too much faff) I have stopped using this app. Which is a shame as I love it - no other app comes close to this re: customisation. At least the weather issue is fixed.
Minimal and Elegant went like this: got it, was a bit overwhelmed with all the options, slowly started understanding what is what, realised how much potential it has, and ended up loving it. It's quite glorious once you get to know which parts do what; although there are tips from the dev, it's better to just dive in. Virtually an unlimited variety of watch faces. Don't feel like I need to try another watch face app. Not overly user friendly but more than makes up for it with sheer variety. 5*
Complicated to learn, but good once you've understood how it works. However, a recent update has stopped the widget from refreshing which is an issue when using it as a clock! Please fix. (NB my phone's battery saver mode is not switched on and the app is not in the power restricted list). [Developer response fixed the issue, thanks! Back to a 5 Star review 🙂]
This is one very powerful app for tweaking every imaginable setting on your Wear OS watch face. It was initially quite daunting to learn, but there are literally thousands of watch presets that you can download without any further action or in-depth knowledge. But... if you're willing to spend the time and want to get your watch face just right, this app has the goods without some of the over-the-top permissions requested by other similar apps.
Easily worth the small price. Theres so many watch faces to pick plus the little worlds option to add moving pieces is excellent. Added 1 Star (Total 5 Stars) for the fact that you can even take someone's preset and change background and color/font/text or whatever you want. Full control over watchfaces once you learn to use it.
App is not easy to use but developer Marcin is very helpful with any queries. He even help create my preferred watch face, as I didn't understand how to configure the settings myself. I haven't seen all the watch faces available but with so many, you should be able to find some that suits you. 5 stars for the customer service.
Genius! This app delivers exactly what it promises - thousands of watch faces to use or modify with no additional cost. Preset faces can be used without further effort, or the app can be used to make changes and save/share new faces as your own presets. The software is feature-rich, making it seem complex, but actual use is very intuitive and works as it should. Amazing! Fun! And an incredible value!
Terrible layout and almost unusable. I couldn't even figure out how to properly select a watch and get it to show up on my WearOS watch. I felt like searching through the watch faces was clunky and once I tried to select one, it would just show up on the main screen of the app and it gave me a hard time to navigate to the watch faces again. I uninstalled the app within an hour of purchase and would like to try to get a refund if possible.
It loses 1 star because it doesn't work with Tizen. yet. When it does it'll get 5 stars. Very intuitive interface. Easy to design and customize. Plenty of presets with none of that customizable portion locked like you see on Watchmaker. (Which I also love, btw.) cool little add-ons like Little Worlds and Magic Colors that can take customizing to another level. Want just analog? Got it. Want just digital? Got it. Want both? No problem. Every aspect of the face is customizable. I also like how it has a different look and feel to it. Pujie Black, Watchmaker, Facer all have their own look and feel. M&E gives you the same. It's own unique look and feel to it. When you see an M&E designed face you know exactly what it came from.
The watch faces are great! This app offers an incredibly huge variety. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because navigating the app can be a bit aggravating at first. Once you get the hang of it though, it's a must have app if you like a having access to a variety of watch faces.
Great features. Does everything you might want and more. UX could be a lot more intuitive. When used with a Galaxy Watch 4 that has the watch wifi enabled this app throws an error about outdated libraries and bad connections. Everything seemed to work, but it wouldn't save any changes to a preset. Turn off watch wifi, saved changes to preset, turn back on again. All good. But I was lucky to figure that out before going down a dark rabbit hole.
