Dalang Ki Seno Nugroho was born in Yogyakarta, on August 23, 1972. He graduated from the Indonesian Art High School, Yogyakarta, in 1991. Ki Seno learned how to play a puppet when he was 10 years old. Often he followed his father when he was playing. Little Seno was very impressed with Ki Mantheb Sudharsono. Ki Seno is able to master and is able to combine two styles of Yogyakarta and Surakarta pakeliran. Work on the performance is very prominent in working on chess. Spontaneity flows in dialogues that are delivered during the stage, tickling, funny, in full of meaning.
