I spoke with the developer last spring about making sure that this app was operable offline. Long story short, it is not. There are many places in NW Ontario where there is no WiFi or data. If your hiking app requires connectivity to open, then all the downloaded maps in world will be useless. Why even offer a map download feature if you require internet access to open the app?
I have reviewed the app and looks like there isnt much beside thunder bay area, for now. it would be great for it to have all trails in northern western ontario soon and also expand a bit into northeastern ontario a bit as there are also great trails .what i hope will be included is indigenous owened trails for the many people who dont know of those trails that could possibily have cultural and history experiences for hikers. keep up the good work!- trail guardian at Point Grondine Park
Updating my initial review from 2018... I originally stated the app was too basic and missing too many trials. Two years later and the app is WAYbetter! Great job WAYfinder team. The app is a dream. 5 stars.
so few trails!! good concept, but they should at least have a look through superior hiking's list.
Just downloaded it and it keeps crashing havent even been able to use it yet
Won't open and it will not work with a Samsung phone.
It won't open, just keeps crashing.
$68,000 In tax dollars wasted in funding this app. As others have said: Blank white screen while "trails are loading".
Amazing. Found it super helpful
real deadly and sick just givnr
this is amazing
This would be a really cool app if I could ever get beyond an endless blank page that says "fetching trails". This happens even with high accuracy gps turned on. Update. Nothing has changed. App is still utterly useless. No trails show up and it still says fetching trails. Likely just going to delete as it just wastes space.
