The app doesn't reset itself as frequently as before (which meant over dubbing the show with a wbez introduction—annoying!) So that's a huge win! It's a little less intuitive (to me, anyway) on finding previous segments, but I figured out out. All in all, I like it, especially while driving, since my car's antenna isn't that effective.

Buggy, unfinished. Programs will regularly overlap, with audio from one playing right over another. Lots of programs cut short, or started late, with abrupt cuts from one thing to another right in the middle of a conversation. Cherry on top: the app will just stop playing, or shut down altogether, all by itself, several times a day. I don't have the app battery optimized. Just stick with streaming from the website directly.

Great app, doing it's job. But I have a feature suggestion. What about adding the ability to schedule the app to start at certain times of the day. Not useful for someone with a smart speaker, but I'm not one of those. On top of that I'm not a fan of having apps listening to everything in my life, so I don't use Google assistant either.

App uses a surprisingly high amount of battery for something that downloads very little data and plays audio. Google podcast app uses way less battery doing the same tasks.

Much cleaner than the general NPR app but lacks the search bar for you to quickly find certain episodes or podcasts.

The app continues to run in the background after I disconnect from Bluetooth. It's kills the battery. Please fix ASAP

I mostly like the new app, much faster to load and use. However I was disappointed with the lack of android auto support. This was one of my favorite features of the old app. Any plans to add support for driving??

WBEZ donors wanted a better app and the Trustrees listened! The new app is a really great format with none of the freezing and pausing issues we experienced with the old app. Well done!

It would be nice if this app opened to the current show, not the one coming next that can't be streamed. It would be nice if it could handle changing from wifi to lte. It would be nice if it didn't occasionally just cease playing audio (except occasional noise) requiring switching to a different stream and back to get it to work. It'd be nice if it didn't occasionally flip out and play despite all button presses, quitting the app or using the shade widget. What it does, when it does it, is great.

I've had the same experience reported by other reviewers: the app streams successfully for about 2 minutes, then abruptly stops -- annoying when listening through my bluetooth speaker. This problem has been reported since at least late 2018 (one year ago); not sure why it hasn't been addressed yet. (Samsung Galaxy S8/Android)

I really love WBEZ, and this app needs help. Like for others, it constantly drops for me. This has been a chronic problem across several types of phones and across several wifi networks so it must be an app issue. Unfortunately, it makes this app unusable. Works for a minute or two and then drops. UPDATE solved the issues. Went into app management and allowed all permissions for the app and now works perfectly!!! 5 stars!

I have a Samsung S9+ and the live streams get frequently interrupted with an error that the media content isn't available. Yet, when I start the same media again it plays from the beginning. This is frustrating because then I have to skip ahead in 30 second increments to where I left off only to have the media stream interrupted again with the same error.

I love WBEZ and use to love this app. For some reason, as of late, the apps audio cuts out and displays an error code after only 2 or 3 minutes of live listening. If I close and open the app, it plays then cuts off again. I've tried installing and re-installing - this does not fix the issue. HELP!

Great content but the app is really hard to turn off. The pause button doesn't work on the sleep screen and even closing from the running apps window doesn't work. Half the time I just restart my phone to turn it off. I end up only using it when I know it'll be on in the background for a very long time

This was once a good app. Within the past year, the app refuses to load or stops for extended periods. I love the station and have been a High Fidelity supporter for many years, but depend on the audio stream, due to poor FM reception. I now use NPR One to stream WBEZ, which is clumsier, but works.

Issues with playback seen to be better, but the newest update seems to have removed sorry for Android auto. I would much prefer to use this app rather than Tune-in.

So unreliable, turns off all the time, including switching off and then on many times while I've been typing! It can also be hard to get the live feed instead of last hour's programming. I just hate how much it freezes and how many times there are media errors. I love the app so much I wish that could be a fixed it doesn't matter if I'm on my phone or my tablet or anywhere else I always get media errors I have to restart the app very often having to uninstall and reinstall in order to get it to work for long periods of time

Works for me but PLEASE, as others have mentioned, have it added to android auto. Been about a month since question about AA was asked. Any updates? Phone is Galaxy A50 running Android 11 if that matters.
