Wealthsimple Trade

This app used to be amazing, recommended it to many people, some of who signed up. But now, the UI/UX are beyond terrible. Sign in screen is nearly pitch black (not my phone settings), the amount of time it takes to load is up considerably when it used to be near instantly (my phone is only 2y/o). Worst of all, the new layout is 100x more confusing to try and find what you're looking for. I'd recommend a diff app until the UI/UX is greatly improved upon or restored to how it was a year ago.

Great app and they keep improving it. Just don't expect to become a millionaire by using it. I removed a star for the following reasons: - The app timeouts really quickly when multitasking and after authenticating (biometrics), it returns you to the home screen, losing what you were doing. - Even when choosing to receive no shareholder material, you receive proxy voting material by paper mail. If it's required to be sent, please provide a digital method and make it the default!

Good app for a beginner. Nice to have straightforward amounts displayed. Feature suggestion: when I make a purchase, instead of returning me to the opening screen when I'm done, just put me back into the portfolio I was looking at, with the same sort order, at the same place I scrolled to. I do a bunch of buys and sells and each time I have to re-open my portfolio, and reselect sort by total value, and then scroll down to where I was in the list. Maybe allow us to set a default sort option, too?

I LOVE this app but I have a serious PROBLEM with it aswell. The 15 minute time delay for shares is unreal! I have to use a different app or on my computer to find out what the real time share price if I were to buy or sell. A good base for a great opportunity! I do like how it is 0% commission and its free but the 15 minute time delay needs to be fixed to give 5 star

So bloated and lags so badly. Used to work fine before the big update. I'd also like to have the choice to tell the app to open to just my personal stocks like it used to and not crypto and everything else. But there is no option to change the app's "home screen" in any way despite the fact that they have added so much to it.

New app update is extremely buggy. Can't load charts, won't switch between today's price/total value anymore (the button changes like it did but the total values don't load). Asks me to log in with 2fa every time I reopen the app even if it's minutes later. Please go back to the previous version of the app until you work these bugs out, it's not functional like this.

Update: bugs found...using scan qr code for transfer to external wallet has a tendency to crash the app. Also, 2 factor authentication has to be inputted like 20 times until it finally get accepted. These bugs were found for crypto only. I've been using this app since it was released and found it to be an excellent base stock trading app all round. Chart and analyze elsewhere though.

This is a good app overall and great for a beginner. I've been using it for over a year now. I have had some bugs but they have been worked out over time. The only reason I'm not rating 5 stars is because this app lags bad sometimes and doesn't always load charts without needing a refresh. I use a pixel 5 so I would expect the experience to be smoother like the other apps on my phone.

Would deserved one and half star more if the push notification worked. It worked for first few days then stopped working properly. Inside the app said my target prices were triggered but I didn't get any notification on my phone. Until I realized, it's already been too late. The prices alert is a completely useless tool now.

I downloaded this app from a referral from a friend to get a reward and I just get an error message saying please try again later, it's been over a week. I've tried restarting my device and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Edit: looks like I have to fund the account before I can redeem the promotion, I didn't want to go to far in before I tried the promotion in case I would be ineligible.

Toggling between total value and total price doesn't change anything anymore. It just gives me the current stock price per unit for both instances. When I click the total value it doesn't give me the total amount multiplied by the number of units anymore. What is happening?

Okay so here is my Honest review about wealthsimple trade: it was the very first app id ever used to trade crypto. They added alot of features which is great but they took a long time to catch up to the features of other apps. Second, the app glitches and freezes like crazy. I usually have to exit from it and start it again because it freezes. Third, the limits on the wealthsimple cash card suck. You can only instantly add $250 and wait 5 days for anything over that. Not conveniant. Needs work!!

It's OK for casual investing. Wish it had a few stocks that I've wanted to purchase. UI is so basic. Could use way nicer and more accurate charts, also the whole 15 minute delay is kinda lame. It's good though, and I trust it, much more than I would trust any American or Bank stock app. Such corruption with institutions coming out lately, I'm actually glad I'm with them. 300$ fee for direct registering shares through a transfer agent is absolutely ridiculous though.

I've noticed they've placed more barriers or extra steps when users try to withdraw funds during massive price drops. It could be a coincidence but it's been pretty consistent.

Good features but app is slow and terrible UI. Used to be good, but each update makes the UI worse and app start time longer. Also keep losing login info. This happened before but was fixed after one update but it's happening again now.

App taking a long time to start and load portfolio. Application is too heavy. UI is too complicated, chart doesn't load faster and shows incorrect current price. U guys need to work hard on "Simple, fast and accurate" UI to get more Cxs and to get referred to friends and family. I love your application but there are lot of feature request that needs to get addressed to get 5 stars. Thank you.

The latest update from April 14 2022 has broken the Today's Price/Total value tab as well as no longer displaying prices for stocks and crypto on each account page. The only way to see price is to go into each individual item page. Please fix asap! Edit: The total price glitch has been fixed.

My experience has been unenjoyable. The app is VERY basic and should not be used as the only trading intelligence tool. I have the Plus membership that says no fees, but somewhere I didn't notice the small print where they still charge on crypto trades. If I try to buy the dip, they start me at -1.5% to -2%. It can take a very long time to recover those fees, my experience is I just lost money. It is not nimble enough and the fees are TOO HIGH. I DO NOT RECOMMEND CRYPTO PURCHASES USING THIS APP

It was an impeccable app. Now... its a complicated app... I was really hoping it would stay simple. It was a good idea at the start and still is. But its being designed all wrong presently. I wont be a user much longer, which sucks, because it was really good at the start. Best of luck, Ck

App sucks, it's slow, doesn't load gains and losses... charts are garbage, constantly having to use Google to see current price and better charts. Now app won't load at all. If your going to throw money in, and check back in few years. This is for you. Otherwise, opt for a real trading app.

For some reason this app now requires me to sign in everytime I access it. Even if I just switch to another app and back it does not remember that I have logged in and acts like it does not even know that I have an account. I have tried clearing all the app data and also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and it still behaves in the same way. It has been this way for a couple weeks now and worked fine for a couple years before that, having only to re-login every couple weeks.

Made a 2k deposit and was supposed to get $1500 instant to trade. No funds were available and missed out on big opportunity to buy dip. Stock jumped $2 while trying to reach live support. False advertisement and ridiculous. Had them cancel my transfer and deleted app. Never using WS again.

Dropping my rating from 4 to 2 stars as the new version of app lags so badly and for some reason I'm not getting push notifications for completion of my trades , for a trading app not to get quick notifications when trade is completed is unacceptable,now I have to constantly open the app again and again just to check status of my trades

Great improvements over the last couple years. It used to be a really basic and mediocre stock trading platform, but improvements like fractional trading and the expansion of available stocks to trade has really made it competitive. I'd still love to have the ability to trade options, but other than that I'm pretty satisfied.

Crypto has dropped from the app. I can only see 3 available when I go under the proper category, which is extremely frustrating because I know there is well over 20 different ones. I find since the update, the app is extremely slow and crashing. I feel like I'm Watching paint drying... I will say it has become more user friendly for adding money and transferring money through different areas (stocks, crypto, rrsp ect)

I'm not a fan of this new ui setup. Having the charts for your aggregate holdings was very useful to have. The load times do not appear to have improved for its removal. -2 stars on what was otherwise a great canadian option until the charts are brought back.

Why can't I look at my watch list in alphabetical order anymore? Updates have made this app worse than it was before. Load times are getting worse and worse. Won't load account history for my auto-managed TFSA.

not optimized for tablets at all. messed up menus on the S8 tab ultra with android 12, no landscape mode etc. Update: total value amount is incorrect in the list of stocks owned on main screen. But the total value for a stock is correct in the iPhone app!! another company who puts more effort into its iphone app than android. Sigh.

App was good, but struggles to keep up with growing investment apps, the way it tracks gains and looses on the dashboard is misleading, the app is somewhat slow and seems to need a little more work in my opinion. Charts are basic and could use a little more analytical tools for users to take advantage of.

I used to think this app was cool, then luna crashed, I didn't lose any money then. The crash created an opportunity to make alot of money. I tried to capitalize on that opportunity. Wealthsimple stopped me from doing that, I was gonna buy $50 worth of luna/terra at 0.0000018 , the current price is 0.0003 but has been as high as 0.0006 since the crash. Could have turned $50 into $30000. Now I just hate wealthsimple.
