App was working well until recent update. Attempting to swipe right (on phone) to reach any panal crashes the app, so dont think being able to edit playlists will be possible until resolved.
It'd be nice if the watch app forced WiFi on if Bluetooth connection is too slow Edit: I have Samsung watch 4 and it only has option of auto WiFi
I just got a Galaxy Watch 4 and was frusdtrated trying to get podcasts to download to the device and then play later with no bluetooth or wifi. Spotify couldn't do it, which seemed so simple. And spotify's interface was terrible. So far this app has been great for podcasts. THANKS
This is a very useful app, the only standalone watch podcast app I could find. Out works well and the interface is nice, the only problem I have is that streaming podcasts over wifi will give you a error message halfway through and it won't go away until you force quit the app. This isn't that big of a problem for me as I would just rather download it anyways.
I'm very glad this app exists. It's very easy to use and performs as described. If there is one thing I would change, it would be having the ability to arrange the podcasts in a custom order, like you can with the apps on Wear OS. I have gone into podcast settings and tried the "sort by" option, and I've tried long-pressing and dragging them but it doesn't seem to work. Of course this is a feature most could do without (the web version of Google Podcasts can't even do this) but it's something I would really like.
The app is exactly what I was looking for. Running phone free!!!!! I purchased the premium version. Is there a way to setup a list of podcasts that when updated will download and only keep the most recent entry? I bought and created one playlist, but need some help in setting it up. I would like to be able to achieve without having to download each individual podcast. Any suggestions?
The playback on the watch is exactly what I needed importing from pocketcasts to use on a run a time scrub so I can manually sync as I need to. The disable wifi is great. The problem is the phone app. It doesn't seem to have a great connection to the watch. I can't access subscriptions. And premium unlock has needing to resync the unlock everytime I use the watch app.
I do love this app I even got the pro version. Fantastic listening to pod casts on watch without my phone. Only one issue and its not a deal breaker but it is a nuisance. I keep getting a error message. The podcast stops playing and a big cloud is displayed with error "An Error occurred. Please try again or restart the app. error code 1." Would love solution it happens every 5 min or so....
So far it does play and download episodes fine. My only issue is that it doesn't seem to import OPML files correctly. All my podcast name are listed as "N/A" and have no thumbnails even after updating and syncing. Hard to use when this is the case. I suppose I'll have to manually subscribe through the wear cast app, though I have over 50 different podcasts so that will take some time
The ability to just download and access what you're subscribed to and see what have have downloaded from the app is great. This is an excellent update.
I have been looking a lot for a real offline podcast app for smartwatch and Wear Casts does the job I was looking for. I can download podcasts directly on my Huawei Watch 2 without using my phone at all and doing sports with my watch only. Unfortunately it is not yet perfect because the app is slow and sometimes surfing the podcasts causes crashes to the app. IT would perfect (and I would give it a full 5 starts review) if I could be able to surf podcast and launch the download from the mobile phone app. Right now I can only find very few podcasts from the US market only and I can only import podcasts feeds from other apps. Moreover, I first bought the premium features, but I got refunded with no reason and lost premium subscription. Could you provide me with an explanation for that? Despite it all, it's still the best offline podcasts app for smartwatch on the store.
This has been the only app that works to allow podcasts on watch and syncing back to phone consistently. Would love android auto functionality.
Only Android Wear autonomous podcast app, and I'm happy to have it. the interface is pretty nice, but has some quirks: it quits a lot; it's sometimes difficult to click smaller things; downloads often fail and you don't know you're missing several podcasts you thought had auto-downloaded days ago; and just this week the sped-up playback inexplicably stopped working on some podcasts but still works on others. I do love a recent update that i can now download by swiping left on an episode!
Best option for podcasts on Wear OS
The older episodes of podcasts won't play after I download them to my galaxy watch 4 LTE classic. I've tried deleting and redownloading 4 times now. HELP!!!
Nope, it was the phone app, the watch app worked just fine. I add 5 stars cause the update fixed the phone issue. I have android 11.
Best podcast app for offline wear at the moment. Requires a bit of rote learning to get used to what swipe directions do. Touch does not respond well on download presses and requires a number of tries. Not sure if that's the watch or a deliberate feature to prevent unintended downloads.
The developer is picking up Google's slack and producing one of two podcasts apps that let you download podcasts to the watch. My only two annoyances: 1) It is impossible to load episodes of some podcasts that are too old. You'd think this would be a deal breaker, but I have no other options. 2) The dev certainly deserves compensation, I'd pay $5-$10 once, but I'm not paying per year to unlock arguably basic features. Even with the dev's substancial and appreciated efforts to update the app.
Worked fine for offline listening to podcasts on my runs on my Wear24 until recently. Shame as it was the best app on the watch. Update: The developer immediately fixed the bug and re-added support for Android 7 the same day I posted the bug above. Exceptional turnaround time, great app, all the stars.
Don't know how I didn't see synced phone playback. Nice! This app has it all and the premium subscription is much cheaper than Spotify. Nice to hear you're going to work on Galaxy 4 bugs! This app is awesome, please keep working on it!
Best wearos podcast app I have found, main feedback to give is that the volume control via the headset needs finer control, when I use it I can only set either too quiet or too loud, there is no in-between, if you can fix this it will be perfect :)
The UI is good, it's very easy to manage pods. I am about an hour into my first podcast on the app and it has crashed about 3 times, and each time the episode has disappeared from my downloads. Using Galaxy Watch 4
There used to be an option to diable BT and rely on wifi to download podcast, but can't find it anywhere. Download takes a long time and not reliable, which limits the usability of the app quite a bit.
I was searching everywhere for an app to let me play my podcasts on my watch, thru it's speaker. Most did not work or were just plain terrible. This app does everything I need on my tic watch 3 pro. $4.99 a year is absolutely worth it. Thank you developer..You made my day.
It just stops. The podcast is downloaded. I'm sitting next to my phone and in Wi-Fi range and it just stops. It might start up again. It might not. The interface seems workable so i have it 2 stars but i need to find something better
