In the last three minutes of the countdown, the app uses the signalling scheme from Appendix S of the racing rules. This is used primarily for small boat racing, and the signals are designed to avoid the need for looking at a stopwatch.
3 minutes: 3 long vibrations 2 minutes: 2 long vibrations 1 m 30s: 1 long and 3 short vibrations 1 minute: 1 long vibration 30 seconds: 3 short vibrations 20 seconds: 2 short vibrations 10 seconds: 1 short vibration 5, 4, 3, 2, 1: 1 short vibration each Start: 1 long pulsing vibration
This app does not use any GPS features, so it is legal to use for all classes of sailboat.
The Sync feature comes in handy for those times when you miss the gun. If you start the countdown a few seconds late, and you can sync it at the prep signal or at 1 minute.
The time of day is determined from the operating system, which is usually synchronized accurately to UTC.

Firstly, I love the app. Only problem I have is that at my sailing club they do beeps at 20 - 5 - 4 - 1 minutes. The longest setting in the app is 15 minutes. Would be nice to have an option for that to go up to 20, as trying to set it at 5 on the water is not the best. Many thanks Paul
cant use the phone buttons to start/stop/sync so it pretty useless unfortunately. you need to have an app like this take over the buttons and display completely when using it for racing as you dont have time to open the watch, scroll through the apps yada yada yada, when you are counting seconds to the line.
Great start for this app. However when I am racing and miss a start sequence signal I need the sync function to sync down, not up. Say I miss the 5 minute signal, I would press start anyway then sync to the 4 minute signal, not 5 (and so on). Also sometimes the vibration doesn't happen.
Can't get this work with Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. App installs, but when you open it, you just see a coloured, gradient screen. No text, numbers or buttons.
A very nice app that does what it promises. Would like to see theoption to turn the background black for addictional OLED power saving. And please fix the buttons so that app overall appear more stylish.

Great start timer for my Android Wear watch. Vibrations are very helpful, and the ability to set a specific start time is perfect for the Friday night beer can pursuit race.
Vibrations absolutely necessary since I can't see the watch face in the sun very well.

Worked great on my previous Wear OS watch. I went to a Samsung for a few years and now back to Wear OS with the Galaxy Watch 4. As others have stated, just a blank gradient screen. Please fix! It looks like this app hasn't been updated in a long while....
