Newer routers combine channels (2.4 and 5) into a single channel that is automatically switched to the best signal. (Had to revert to an old router for old laptops to work with wifi.) ID your channels separately, and select 2.4 for the app. This might be it. Some older devices / software won't work with the new combined channel tech. Unrelated...why this app? Just to expand the database of info for WU? If they want access to my wx station, they can pay me.

Do not buy WiFi enabled La Crosse products. Their apps have been bad for years and they either are not listening to their customers or they don't have, or won't hire, the technical expertise to do software (I suspect the latter). Its pretty amazing really because both their apps are heavily critized. They just don't get it.

As pretty much everyone else has stated, this app just doesn't work. Sounds like it does for some, which is great for them, but not me. Followed all instructions for setup. Weather Connect app will not recognize my network. Reset unit multiple times, turned off 5ghz band on my router, renamed my 2.4ghz band, opened a 2.4ghz only "guest" network, reset station every time, nothing. Even reinstalled the app and reset my router after each change. Still get . Router will NOT show up!!

I finally got it to work, using a TPlink portable router. I tried 2 other routers and it would not work. I also had to use a junky android phone to get wifi to show and connect. You would think it would be fine using a Pixel 4 XL, but it didn't like my phone. Took me a few weeks to figure it out and now I am connected and working.

Simple, but it is weird that this app is separate from the main La Crosse app and is not linked or references in the main app to encourage data sharing. It is not clear if this is only needed for set-up or if the all needs to remain installed to relay the data. I'm hoping it is just for configuration and is eventually integrated with the main app. Could use a little refinement to the graphic design.

I was able to successfully connect to WU. Not sure if this helps anyone else, but just wanted to share, I connected my weather station to Wi-Fi using the La Crosse View App. After my station was connected to the internet, I then used the Weather Connect App to connect my station with my WU account. I did not enter in my WiFi password into the weather connect app, just the PWS and Key. I first made the mistake and used my PWS ID and my WU login password. This was incorrect, I needed to used my "Key" that was assigned by WU as my Password. Without that key, WU will not allow data to be uploaded. It did take about 40 minutes after using the Key instead of my password before my station status updated to online. Hope this helps.

Hopeful that my station will show up. I have a V40A Pro. Got it connected through LaCrosse View easily enough. After looking through the reviews of this app, I put in my PWS ID, and KEY. WU shows me as online now. I did change my station's name in the LaCrosse app to match the WU name, but I don't know if that is needed or not. My SSID was showing in this app, and I put in my WiFi password, not sure if that is a needed or not. Update: station is showing on WU map now.

The app DOES NOT WORK... maybe it does for some folks, but not for most of us. In my case, I have a V50 connect to a Breeze Pro sensor (the Costco package) displaying correctly and working fine connected to a 2.4ghz wifi channel. The La Crosse View app on my phone is connected to both the V50 and the sensor and all of that is working fine. But this app fails no matter what I do. If I try to use the "Register a PWS" button, enter my WU credentials, and hit "Login to WU" nothing happens. If I go to the main menu and enter my WiFi password, it says "unknown SSID". (On the iPad version the same actions get "an unknown error occurred please try again" and "configuring please wait for a moment" and a long pause after which nothing happens.) And by the way, the instructions say "make sure you are connected to the Wi-Fi network you want your Weather Station will [sic] use". If you are already connected to the network, why is it asking for your WiFi password???? Bottom line: doesn't work for mu just like the 50 other folks who entered a review.

I also could not get the app to work. I found an answer from La Crosse on someone's review saying to put the weather station in wifi search mode and run the app and it should populate the missing ssid name. That didn't work. uninstall, reinstall, restart the phone and so on, no luck! I am using a Galaxy S9+. For grins or being desperate, I installed the app on my Galaxy S7 on a different carrier. It worked fine. Success, I thought. Not showing up yet on my PWS dashboard. J. Sherrow

Worked great, once upon a time... We started having issues with our router about a month ago not holding wifi signals. Got a new router and attempted to reconfigure the weather station. App now shows "Unknown SSID" instead of the wifi name (even if using the old router) and will not login to WUNDERGROUND. If this issue isn't fixed, will be looking for a new weather station and will be ending a long time 'association' with Lacrosse.

I've seen lots of bad reviews for this simple app. In my case I have a dual band router. I purposely connected my phone to the 2.4 GHz band and found my weather station. I put in my pws id and key and I'm currently sharing my data. Works fine.

We moved and had to reinstall our weather station. The app will not connect to our Wi-Fi at all. I guess I will just enjoy my weather station without it reporting to Wunderground. Will be looking at different options in the future when this weather station finally stops working.

I get trapped in a loop of trying to connect to my wifi through the app. Everything else in my house is connected to the wifi and on the first log in. Yes, my weather station is connected. Yes, my phone is connected. Yes, my TV, computer, garage door, gate, and all sensors are connected to my wifi. Everything except this app seems to have that ability.

Just like everyone else - super frustrated trying to get this app to work. Someone else said the apple app worked better so i borrowed a friends iPad and tried it on there - same thing. I saw a comment on the apple store to disable 5g on the router. Once I did that it finally worked.

It doesn't connect. So none the less in 3 easy steps as the claim. Try differrnt phones. I get to wifi set up. It saids it is conected and come back to the 3 steps nothing else happens. Can't be that difficult guys come on!

Bil. S. Jan 2, 2019

Ok so here I go followed these steps to a Tee: 1) Go to station and hold + & - buttons till you hear a beep. 2) Ensure your phone is on a compatible wifi network BEFORE coming to the network settings 3) your wifi SSID should now populate in the field. Enter the password for your router 4) Hit confirm. Wait a few minutes and bam here is where the problem comes in, after connecting to wifi, a window pops up telling me success. The program closes and there is no way to add any station ID or key. Restart the program, bam back to the begining, you know those 3 simple steps, that wont go past step 1. Back to step 1, connect to wifi....back to step 1... how simple huh? I see this was uploaded 2016, no changes since then, gotcha I know why it dont work, we a re on windows 10 not vista

Bad Experience! Weather station connects to WiFi but this app won't recognize dual band router. Therefore, no way to connect it to Weather Underground.

Bri. P. Apr 7, 2019

Can't find my WiFi name even when its connected. Doesnt allow manual entry. I dont think it supports Android 9.x. Returning this weather station.. utterly useless.

Rya. P. Dec 28, 2021

Won't connect. No matter what I do it will not connect to the wifi and I cannot get to the point to enter my WU credentials. Yes I'm on a 2.4ghz wifi and data is off

Mar. B. Dec 26, 2020

This app is rubbish. As per other reviews, took me to a log in screen and stuck there. Eventually I used an iPhone to connect to the device, and it worked through the Lacrosse View app instantly.

A. G. u. Jan 2, 2020

Quite possibly the worst app ever. Instructions are almost nonexistent. Virtually impossible to connect weather station to Weather Underground with this absolutely terrible app.

Yao. W. Aug 24, 2019

Complete rubbish. Installed it 5 times and it said "installed" every time. No applivation icon appears on the phone though it indicated it was compatible with my phone . Waste of time and money.

Rus. W. Oct 15, 2019

Terrible APP... I thought maybe they had got their act together from the previous model but just as bad, if not worse. The old APP never worked and look to have the same luck with this POS.

Jan. V. Sep 30, 2021

Seems to be working. Found the station right away, entered the ID and Key. We'll see if data starts showing up in 24hrs.

Jim. Q. Feb 28, 2020

Totally worthless. Stations are good but not being able to connect to internet as advertised is unacceptable and a rip off.

I also have the La Crosse V50. App won't work for me. That's because it's not Weather Underground compatable. The app description say's if it's compatable, it will say on the box. Too bad I didn't read that two days ago. Could this be the reason for the bad reviews? I rated to post.
