Weather Radar Widget

Although the developer has passed on and the widget function does not work; I still use the app as a small, light weight, radar app. Very handy when cell / wifi service is slow. I still keep a widget on the home screen as a zoomable place holder on the radar map even though the primary function of the widget has not worked in years.

I like the way the view starts with the entire U.S. and lets one get an overview. We do a lot of driving trips, coast to coast, and timing our departure times from Minnesota to have the best chance to avoid bad weather is really helpful. Local TV coverage rarely does that. Zooming in to our current local is quick & easy and provides the more detailed view of current conditions. Great app and always seems to work.

Got my hopes up... Went through the process of setting this as a new amazing weather helper... Found out the long hard way the 1 feature I want to work... doesn't, and the developer isn't doing anything about it for far too many people to think it'll ever happen. Open the code up for others to pick up where you're either unable to because of schedule or whatever reason it might be, but this exact thing could extremely help me, and many others. If this worked with a resizable GPS centered radar that could follow me while driving all day across the country it would be worth 20 bucks to me.

In settings no local radar can be shown. All tried in IN, MI, and NE gave an error code. In an older version, 1.7x this was also true. No progress made to correct this over multiple updates. You call this Weather Radar. Don't you think it should actually Show A Weather Radar? The app is small, and that's nice and the overall US view can be zoomed in, but the app is still only half functional! Also, you can set the rate of animation but not the "look back". Allow more than 25 minutes.

Widget stuck in endless "Preparing..." or "Updating..." loops. "Retry" usually results in a System message saying "Weather Radar Widget keeps stopping". "Info" links to "Error Details" telling me to check my internet connection (which is fine) or that "we may be experiencing technical difficulties & your should try again in a few hours". Well I've tried again for several months now & it's still fails. Gave up on any hope that the developer gives a damn. Reduced to 1 star.

It's simple to use, but it is different than the Raindar app that is not updated for recent Android versions. Raindar would remember the area you were viewing even without gps. Plus you could scroll all the way into your neighborhood and the radar colors wouldn't pixelate. I've tried several others, but so far weather radar widget is the closest to Raindar which was the gold standard

The widget was the best part of this app becuase no one else did it. The widget hasn't worked in years and they can't seem to fix it. Might as well just call it "Weather Radar" and ditch the widget part of the name because its non-functional.

My only complaints on this app is that it will zoom in with a double left click, but you can't go back out. Needs button to do this. And if you do zoom, the rain obliterates the map - if you're trying to locate your road, you can't. Needs to be able to lighten the density of the rain. My favorite app did this - NWS NOW. I can't access it now because it is now on Amazon app store instead of Google Play, and Bluestacks only uses Google. Otherwise it does exactly what you need it for - good deal.

Weather Radar Widget is a very good app. You can also zoom in to your back yard. I only wish it can give weather conditions further out into the gulf areas. It doesn't seem to be able to view much of inner gulf waters just alongside the coast. Thanks, you're better than any other app available. I'm keeping you.

I really like it, but the only issue I've had, though minor is the live widget hasn't worked on the past four phones I've had in 3 years, but that's likely an issue with certain phones not allowing certain permissions that they should so I can't really fault the app maker for phone carriers, makers (or Google for that matter) totalitarian practises like only allowing you to only use data for hotspot and not an existing Wi-Fi connection for instance. Otherwise it works fine for my needs.

I like the simplicity of this app. It's a radar weather map. You open the app, the map appears and it very easy to zoom in on the part of the US that you're interested in. The 25 minute time lapse is great for showing trends in weather system movements.

Great app and radar is excellent. However, some of the narratives in the detailed forecast don't make much sense. But I am used to those statements and I just laugh it off. For the most part, I view this app every morning and it beats the weather channel.

The widget doesn't work at all. Which kind of defeats the purpose of picking the app by name. The in-app radar is the same as any other default app, so there's literally no benefit to installing an app that just takes up extra space.

I love this app! It's exactly what I've been looking for. I use it every day. In fact, several times a day. The only negative is: the widget won't work. I've tried repeatedly, but it will not open the app. I even sent a message to Support and got no response! I would like it to work! I got the app for the widget. But, since it works using the app icon, I'm ok. I'm just really disappointed.

The INSTANT radar is very helpful. Some sites require a much larger (& ther4, longer) upload(?), which uses more data! However, 25 minutes of past weather radar coverage without ANY prediction of FUTURE weather radar coverage restricts the app's USEFULNESS. This is why l have utilized the app infrequently! Tho increased coverage would require more data, with the EASE of accessing the app, it would be helpful!

Used to work on my old phone but hasn't worked on my new androids in atleast 3 years. Ive done everything I can to try and make the radar widget work, and it won't work. Only works if you open the app but what's the point of having the radar widget if it never works. Please fix for 5 stars.

I would rate this weather app. higher than a 3 star but I'm having problems and updating didn't help. tried emailing but didn't hear back. the radar and pictures in every day forecast is only showing up as thumb nails. really would like to see the radar.

Very accurate and easy to use! I wish the forecast would go out at least 10 days. Also would be great if the radar loop would cover 3 or 4 hours past and future. Not complaining, by far one of the most accurate apps I've seen!

Used to be great. Used it all the time. But the last 3 devices I have had the widget won't work, it just says that it failed and to retry. From Android 5.0 til the newest Android. Sony xperias, LG 20, Samsung Note 8. I can't get it to go at all. Really miss it.

While the app itself loads and seems useful, it is supposed to be a Radar Widget. In this regard, it will load data and gives me the retry attempt which has failed each time. Please work to fix as this and it will be amazing, because you cannot find Apps that do this other than Rain Viewer which is good, but has its own glitches. Terrible! Widget won't initialize so tapping it results in an error message. Graphics are poor at best. Radar is displayed as a pixelated multicolor mess. Looks like something from the 1980s.
