Utter disaster. Not working on Android! Unable to connect phone by bluetooth. Worked for a while. Says needs an app to connect. Various downloads tried. There must be something better than this,
I generally like the new interface (both on this mobile app and on the web interface). BUT, I now have to pay at least $3.95/month to see my own stations historical data. Why????? I was able to see my stations historical data with the original Weatherlink. I provided the data in the first place, I should be able to look at my own data without paying a monthly fee. This is a significant downgrade and I won't improve my review until this problem is fixed.
Extreme weather records and graphs are now fixed. However the maximum record value needs to be looked at. It shows the current temperature instead of the maximum record. During a refresh, it removes the extreme value portion at the bottom of the interface so you have to reselect a date again. It is very annoying. It doesn't retain the information on the screen.
App needs some help. l suspect my problem is due to an upgrade to the app. I installed it a few weeks ago after getting the ip addon for my VantagePro. To get it going I checked everything and it did fine. Then I went back to remove inside temp/hum, and that doesn't work. No matter what you try to change, nothing happens. I see other active stations have this working just fine, but i can't make any changes. I've contacted support twice, but still waiting for help on this.
Very annoying that there seems to be no way of updating the display without going back to the list of stations and then selecting the station again. The app is nothing like as slick as the Netatmo one, for example no Charts view when turning the phone sideways. There also doesn't seem to be a way of getting an alert for rainfall or low temperature.
Works fine and does exactly what it should. I can check my own Vantage Pro2 installation against other stations in the area. Clean interface. Makes a good network sentinel as it cues me if my station drops off the network. No ads. The beauty of being part of an elastic network is you can generally tell if problems are due to your configuration or there's backend issues at Davis. We don't need widgets and making your data public is up to you. WU is atrocious anyway. Why would you go there.
It's a good app to have on your phone. I just wouldn't have it as my one and only weather app. The latest program update stopped the app from refreshing for me, but I logged back in again (probably for the first time since I downloaded this app) and afterward it worked fine. This app depends on citizens with their own weather stations to have their weather stations set up properly, and connected to the internet. I'd have other apps for forecasts, but this for right now weather stats, etc.
Yearly rain total shows 0 which is very wrong. Initial dashboard when launching app shows old data. No refresh option there. Would be nice to have last updated time once you get into app. Update 11/2/18: Yearly rain total appears to be fixed, but I wish there was a rain total since midnight (daily). 24 hr is ok and a nice bit of info, but just seeing current day would be good. Also splash screen temp often differs from temp shown in app (even after waiting for the splash screen to update).
Last update was strange: it tried to ask me for my credentials again. I backed out, then went back in. Seemed to be fine but nothing is live now. Useless... Update 9/23: I discovered that after loading the app, if I click the plus sign at the very top left and add my station back in (I may have to back out once or twice and repeat), the app suddenly goes live. But on initial load it SAYS "Live" but isn't. The workaround above is the only way I can get it to work.
Nice app that allows me to see the data from my weather station on my phone. Overall I like the UI, but wish you could reorder the favorite station listings on the initial screen (instead of alphabetical order). Would be nice if you were able to organize the station data based on your individual needs as well plus chart info beyond 24hr rain/solar.
The website is not scalable on my Note 10. The interface is OK on a computer screen but isn't responsive to a phone or tablet. As it's an app that's unforgivable. The app, linked to a console and Weatherlink does not show historical data stored in the console. The app doesn't update the level when buying pro membership - remains on basic. App and Weatherlink description on how the system works is very poor. The Weatherlink device is not worth the price, it's about £100 too expensive.
the Jan 4 2021 update has slightly modernized the look of the app., but seems to have changed something with how it charts data. Previous edition would chart 24 hours of data for temp., rain, wind, and barometer. Now it's more like 4 hours, or none, or maybe it just doesn't pull data overnight? Rather annoyed...
Tried the weather link trial version for a month in May 2021 just to see what it was like but unfortunately emailing them directly to cancel the trial month or whatever method to get through to them does not work and then got an email saying I've been charged for a years subscription? App had an upgrade Sept 2021 and surprise! Account shows basic subscription on Weather link app. Not even data showing on Weather underground. Get you act together especially for non USA based owners!😡😡😡🤬🤬
This app feels archaic/outdated/underdeveloped. No wind included in forecast?! The forcast shows rain with inches of rain even during winter. The app is decent, but I also have an Acu-rite weather station and the Acu-rite app includes more info, updates multiple times a minute and is FREE. Very disappointing to spend this much money on superior equipment to get less information. Even paying the ridiculous upgrade doesn't give you more information. Get with it Davis Instrumentation!
The app says: "Upgrade"! People buy your relatively expensive Davis equipment, then you want to charge people extra to allow them access to real-time data from the equipment they've purchased from you?! How can that seem right?!!
App works ok but graphs often don't update or render incorrectly. Have to manually restart app to see new information. Irritating to not have all the app features after spending hundreds of dollars on hardware. Davis appears to have realized the only way for them to make more money is by locking away basic features behind a subscription.
Wish I could bypass the bookmarked sites and open directly to a default/primary site. Cannot enable/disable or rearrange sections. Does not work in landscape mode... want to set it on table like a weather station console. Seems like could have figured out how get current dew point, wind chill/heat index, rain rate, and wind speed/direction in the top current condition section instead having to scroll down. Graphs are kind of crude with coarse granularity. Do not really need forecast, not sure where that info comes from.
My school has just bought a Davis weather station and the only drawback to the app I can see at the moment is that you need to log-in to use it and that means pupils could alter station setting, etc. If this info could be behind an admin password and the rest of the features left open, it'd be perfect, but at the moment we're reluctant to roll it out to pupils, just in case! Either that, or a 2nd log-in to access the admin area?
This app has stopped working properly. I have a Vantage Vue connected to a Weatherlink Live. It no longer shows data in real time on the app. Wind etc. only updates when you close app then reopen. It says Live but it isn't live any more. I have spent a lot of money on kit and it is v disappointing. I've tried everything, resetting Weatherlink Live, uninstalling and re installing app, rebooting router, phone etc etc and it DOESNT WORK ANYMORE. Do Davis Instruments even check these reviews? 1/10
Shows my data hours behind current for no apparent reason. Some of the graphs are totally freaking out when I look at them, bouncing back and forth between two data sets, neither of which are current. Really disappointed with Davis. What should be a world class system from a world class company behaves more like a high school "my first app" project.
It takes playing around with the app a bit to realize what it can do now, but then WOW! Amazing detail and options with an improved interface. LOVE the new version and it even gives detailed weather forecasts with rain estimates. Much better than version 1.
A generally good app to use; the forecasts aren't very accurate, in so far as temperatures or expected rainfall are concerned, but the general trends usually play out. I would rate it higher if distances in metric countries were shown in kilometres, rather than miles. The temperature scale can be changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius, so why not do the same with distances?
Absolutely garbage! U have to pay subscription to see ur info. Followed instructions.. No data is shown from my vantage vue no rain... I want to see what's on my stations display. This devise does not do that and I'll return it. Will uninstall app and just keep the weather station. Extremely disappointed in the lack of functionality with this app and the weather link unit.
Love this app! I too had an issue with the September 1 update so I sent them a message. Their quick response fixed the issue and it's very simple. Open the app on your phone...click on the little man icon...scroll to the bottom and log out...then log back in. Problem solved!
This app is very basic. Almost retro! It didn't work for me when I tried to add a weatherlink live module using this app and it simply doesn't work. Apple version does. Davis this is lazy. We buy your weather station gear as it is great so don't fob us off with a half baked app.😠
Davis is not listening to their customers. I've been trying to get answers for months. Sharing your wheather is impossible or very difficult. Downloading your data on a PC only works with software from 2005 or so (and I heard that will not change).
App will not connect the weatherlink live box via Bluetooth with my phone. It says connecting then never does. I can see the box in my phones bt list, but app won't detect it. Clearly an app issue. Tried on another phone and same result.
When viewed in NZ the Android App does not show correct forecast day (always one day later than shown on ios version). Would also be helpful to those outside the USA to have an option to display as a dd/mm date format (issue applies to ios app too). Otherwise good responsive app with helpful graphs..
Every update seems to make it worse on Android. Says last update data was 7 days ago but showing most current data accurately. Rain readings not updating. Please fix!!!
