It used to be possible to add gmx accounts aswell but for some reason it's not possible anymore in the free version. The app is easy to use and does it job but I probably have to switch to a different one if they don't change it back
Using the app on a tablet and very limited settings, cant change the reading panel/view in the inbox. website version or even mobile version works much better.
Lot's of advertising but otherwise functions very well
Very useful email app. Has all the basic functions in the free version. I would like to be able to create more folders than I can atm (free version). IMO the number of folders I can create is not enough since I need more even for basic email traffic. To have to pay a monthly fee only to have more available is not worth it to me, the other functions I'd get by paying I don't need. Shouldn't have to pay just to get a few more. Otherwise a good app!
It's like an apple product: Crippled with an inefficient layout and no control over anything. Babby's first email client. I do not want JS or media to be interpreted by my mail client, and I also need a more compact layout. The new client is completely terrible compared to the old one. I've been paying web.de for over a decade, but if this is the direction, it might be time to look elsewhere. I'll certainly look for another mail client for Android.
The app used to work just fine but some time ago it stopped running properly: - loading attachments takes forever (if it works at all) - emails that have been read are labelled as unread - if an email is moved to a different folder and the app is restarted, all the changes have been undone - emails are not being sent (they do not appear in the 'sent' folder and the intended recipient does not receive them either)
No synchronisation since 30 April, 2021. When I open the app, it displays that I'm logged in but no new mails are indicated even tho a notification came that I have a "new email". I have to take a roundabout method through "settings/about" and log in again. The app worked perfectly before. No settings have been changed as far a I can find and storage is far from full. App version is the most current 7.1.7
I don't know if it's the android version (and app version), I used that app on my moms phone and it was plain terrible. There is adds popping up everywhere i wanna click on.. when sending an email to an address already know by the app i could not easily modify the email address, it just removed it from the address line and when forwarding i could not modify the forwarded text.. Also it adds some sent 'by app' line.. I did not invest much time, but every other app is way nicer and easier..
Random emails just vanish even if I star them. I was asked to show a confirmation email of a visa when traveling to another country and even though I had starred it earlier, it was gone. Was almost sent back because of that! Also the older version of this app was way better - more organized and no ads everywhere! Will have to switch to a different email address now because I don't trust web.de with my important emails
Useless. Because I have 2SA activated I can't log in to the app at all. It's just a constant loop of "please re-enter you password". Utter trash

I installed the app to leave this comment: can you offer an english version of your website? Google translate does a decent job translating and showing an english ui but it's a temp solution. I am looking after seeing to emigrate emailing, prioritizing european providers slowly (i am an eu citizen). So please consider your site in english. Thanks in advance.
For the free version I have, I am completely satisfied. Very secure and enough features.
Fast, good interface and ful of ads. I think I'll set up the phone's email app add add my web.de accout with POP3 because this is a no go. Every day I get promotional emails on goods/ services/ "news", thigs I've never ever searched on the internet. and the pop-up adds within the app taking 1/3 of the screen.
Everytime I login it instantly sign me out it's the same on the website pls fix this I can't login and i used that email for a lot of work.
Can only move emails to folders but can't access the folder content (moved emails) anymore once the emails are moved to a folder. That's rubbish! What else does the app offer my standard email App doesn't? ADVERTISEMENT of course! Deleted the App again because it has no advantage at all
I love it - on my laptop and on my phone and I am very disappointed to read that the app will end next month. I don't think I will use the e-mail-provider when I need to check it out with my browser and have to login everytime. I find that rather annoying tbh. I am very very disappointed by this news. I would understand when there wouldn't be any future updates and if the app would just stay as it is today but to cancel it for all app users is the worst. This is no good advertisment.
Works good enough. Some important features don't work without unneccesary permissions though. The web.de contacts and groups are not accessible without granting permission to the telephones contacts. Such circumstances limit the app usability for me and oftentimes require me to login on desktop :/
Since the last update its useless, keep asking to log in, redirects to website, ask for name and password, and repeat.... Infinite loop. Worked for few days. Now same again. The web is down as well. Will give 5 stars again as soon as solved. This happened years ago as well, so it is a system problem. Btw, web.de is otherwise a great service, only downside are the spam from admin emails and that it sometimed stop working.
Very poor support! Somehow my password was blocked for safety reasons. Thus I cannot login again at my account to change my password. If you click on password forgot, they send a new password to your mail account.... well I cannot log in, so I cannot get this new password. If I try to call them it comes immediately "number is currently not available", so not even a waiting list!! Therefore I couldn't find any other possibility to contact web.de! Very very poor "support"!
in general i'm super happy with the app! only and biggest problem is that it takes 5+GB!!!!!!!!! of my phones storage. idk why or what to do cause i deleted almost all my emails and don't even use the online storage so in my eyes there's no reason for the app to take so much GB! tried to look for help online but couldn't find anything regarding this problem! will have to contact the support!
Too many ads you can't even find the new mail.. that's why am gonna to delete the account permanently.
Deletes emails after 14 days 🤦♂️ According to the settings, emails should be saved indefinitely. It doesn't do that though. Emails are seemingly irreparably deleted after 14 days, without asking, and without any chance to turn it off
this app is totally useless. it is not possible to log in. what a asted time!
Problems since 2 weeks ago Even after reinstalling the app does not show all new emails anymore. When I log into web.de via laptop I always see emails which are not shown in the app. Very frustrating
Lots of functions not available in the mobile app, stopped syncing for no reason. Uses an alias as default instead of my main account and no way of changing it, not possible to write vacation notices for just 1 alias. I gave up and deleted it.
Sometimes text of emails are not sent completely, half of the words are missed. Another thing, you receive and write emails to a reciever, suddenly emails go into spam box.
99% of my inbox is ads although no one knows my adress. That means web.de itself sends ads to each users. In the rare occasion i get a real mail it gets stored in the "unknown" folder aka spam. Ridiculous. Pathetic. Sad.
App keeps getting stuck on synchronization, draining battery and overheating the device. No fix for over a year now. Don't use this app, use the web interface. Thank me later.
