Webroot Mobile Security - Free

You have totally screwed up your upgrade process. A simple uninstall and reinstall has turned into confusing set of onscreen instructions that don't match the reality. Plus the arrogance of constantly generating a noisy pop up to force me to upgrade the app was absolutely annoying. You did not even have the courtesy to send me an email notifying of the pending upgrade. I can safely say you have lost your way and have also lost a customer. Good riddance.

Got my license, installed on PC easily, now try to install on mobile, launch the app that 'needs to be updated' to find out that is this NOT AVAILABLE IN MY COUNTRY (Hong Kong). Superb. Uninstalling with great prejudice and will turn to social media to spread the great news, as well as the infamous word of mouth. And I talk A LOT.

It wants you to install more apps which is not right. One is enough and if already paid for, should not have to pay again. Tied to update but but once put in code it wouldn't work and wanted me to add yet another app. Uninstaller for good, app is not good anymore.

After reading everything here, I have tried twice to just uninstall this app. Both times it said the uninstall "failed". Am I stuck with this? I have had Webroot on my computers for years and always been very happy with it. When I contacted their support, they were very helpful. Evidently not anymore. Does this affect my computers or is it just my phone? It sounds like there must have been a merger or takeover or something and NOT a change for the better. Shame on you, Webroot.

LESS THAN 0 NO STARS IT DOESN'T FREAKING WORK ! CANT USE MY BROWSER EVEN THOUGH I already downloaded the App its still telling me to ! And my password doesn't WORK RESET IT 3X WHAT'S UP FIX THIS AND SOON!!!

I payed 50 dollars for this and it doesn't do anything like it did on my computer. It says it's only for app safety and nothing else. What's the point then because Google play already scans my apps so this is useless. I also found out it is not compatible with any of the new windows 11 S computers because it is not compatible so I suggest if you want to keep my business you fix your anti-virus for all devices so it actually works on everything it says it's supposed to work on!

Doesn't seem to slow down my phone at all which is good. I don't like apps that keep a persistent notification with no option to remove it, so hopefully that will come in a future update. Also, installed on another phone which is getting absolutely bombarded with ads. Just turn on the screen and it's one popup after another without even touching anything. So I installed this and scanned. It found nothing. Seriously? Nothing? The phone was unusable! You need to look for that stuff too guys!

I've been using Webroot for both computer and phone for the last few years. Next to no issues. Yesterday, 4/16 they pushed an update that now displays a constant notification that "You may be at risk - Current scan out of date". I've ran several scans, and none of the scans have gotten rid of the notification. there's nothing in the settings of the app where you can hide this notification either. i went into the settings and prevented the app from showing notifications for now. hoping for fix.

High battery drain and high CPU usage. when both my phone and tablet displayed that over 40% of my battery use went to the Webroot app. I was concerned and didn't see any difference after the last update. This mess started after one of the updates. and I am tired of waiting for fix. I have deleted the app and will be looking at others when my subscription runs out.

App last updated more than 2 years ago? I've been a happy customer using their desktop product for several years now. Decided to try the mobile app. The interface is very outdated and i noticed the last update was from July 2019...more than 2 years ago! Clearly no one is maintaining the mobile product. Also disappointed that there's no setting to turn off the persistent notification.

Won't scan! After the last update it won't complete a scan. This app has always been reliable but now it's not working right! Please help before I look for another service. Thank you for fixing the problem! Having new problems this app still isn't working like it did. It's still not working as well as it did before your updates. It won't automatically scan like it use to either, and the symbol on my phone just beeps while I start a scan. Ugh I miss the safety I had before!

No support?? Undo the last update changes, the app is now terrible . The app was fantastic, I've been using it for years and have always been happy until now with the last update. Battery life drains away quickly, CPU usage is through the roof, the app has the highest battery usage of all apps and even more than the screen. Some app settings and usability has disappeared and no longer available. This is a terrible, terrible update. Not good as I have a paid computer version and devices ...

Like the other recent reviews this app no longer seems to function. With repeated crashes and an inability to complete a scan I don't even know if my phone is protected. I hope Webroot fixes this soon I had no complaints prior to this. A recent update has stopped the app from crashing every 2 seconds but now I get a constant stream of notifications that the scan is out of date even immediately after a scan ends.

The new update is making my phone battery die extremely fast and it's overheating the phone too. Also, it's now saying that my phone may be at risk because the current scan is out of date. When I start the scan, the bar doesn't move at all and a second later it'll say the scan is complete and no threats are found. Yet the warning is still there confirming that it's not scanning at all. So now my phone is completely vulnerable at the moment as well.

Their security software is great which is why I keep using their products, but lately they've been plagued by a few different bugs that amount to me paying for features that are not available until fixed. Webroot had to be uninstalled for almost a month while they fixed the battery drain issue. Now the online platform refuses to recognize that we have a new mobile device. Tech support couldn't fix, and now I can't use the device locater/wipe feature even though I'm paying for it. No ETA on fix.

Well not overly impressed at the moment. Have been a long time WR user on Windows and iOS platforms. Have just jumped ship to Android from iOS and took out a 1yr sub for this based on my previous experiences with the product. Well I downloaded the app but can't get past the Agree and Launch option. It just sits there with a "please wait" for 1-2 min and then says "There was a problem communicating with Webroot servers. Try again in a few minutes." I've been trying for the past 30min trying both my 4G and local WIFI network which also connects via 4G but via a different telco. I've since logged a support ticket. Fingers crossed they can fix the issue.

For years I have subscribed to Webroot & used it on my devices. But this most recent app update caused such terrible lag & battery drain that I was forced to delete the app from multiple phones. Ok-sometimes updates have bugs. No big deal- just issue another update & fix the issue. That's not what happened here. 2 weeks later & all we are getting is 'we know something's wrong.' I hope it isn't a coincidence that this terrible response happened shortly after an announced acquisition of Webroot.

Horrible battery drain and performance after recent updates. I've used Webroot for several years on my computers, phones, and tablets and had relatively good experiences (quick scans and low overhead) until recently. I had to uninstall from my phone and tablet because it even caused the phone to get warm from the high power drain and the tablet became so unresponsive within an hour of use that it would take around 5 minutes just to shut down.

App no longer works. It says that scan is out of date. When I click to run the scan it does not do anything for several minutes, say that the scan is complete and quickly gives the scan is out of date notice again. I checked the google app store to see if I have the latest and I do. Also, it's draining the battery rather quickly.

Like most other commenters, the recent update, 3/28/19, is draining my battery. In addition, I also get the notification that my scan is out of date. When I try a manual update to clear the alert, it does not complete. The incomplete scan informs me my device is secure after a second or so. I am aware that the issue is being addressed, but I am concerned and after 10 days I am wondering what the estimated time for an update is.

Used as a supplement to Lookout. i have other Webroot apps on other devices so trusted the brand. It generally seemed to work (who knows?) for a few weeks, but suddenly started showing notifications (when there were none once you opened the app) and became a huge battery drain. This was both before and after the Pie update. I'd go from 100 to 70% in an hour without any phone use. Uninstalled and fell back to the default Android app.

I've liked webroot up to now, but suddenly I keep getting a pop-up saying that it's utilizing too much of my phone's CPU and needs to be turned off. I've never had this kind of notification before and my battery (which had been fully charged this morning) suddenly was at 15% by 11:30 am. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling, but if I keep having problems, then I'll get something else (which I really don't want to do because this is the first issue I'm having).

Please fix! I use this on my laptop and phone, and I think it's an excellent program. That said, since the last update, my Pixel 3 is constantly overheating and the battery is drained in no time. I will reinstall once a fix is available.. don't like being without this protection. Can't wait to have access to the new build.

They just want money is all, support is very unresponsive and unhelpful. I have paid version but still get pop ups to pay for more stuff, don't know that it even works very well, just a money grabbing exercise. Purchased combined with licence for my PC as well which was supposed to include Last Pass but it keeps telling me I need to pay for upgrade to Premium. Neither Webroot or Last Pass want to help- update is support responded weeks later but are even more useless than I originally thought.

I'm having same problem with scan . Says scan out of date . Go to update manually . After 5 seconds screen changes ( with out scanning) and says everything fine. But then persistent icon shows out of date. Really frustrating. Have on 3 different types of phones and keep updated. Have no idea if protected or where problem lies. Also , battery draining quickly as reported by other reviews. Was a decent product until recently. Need to fix problem very soon or I'm switching service.

I never had a problem with this until one of the recent updates. Now I have a constant notification that my current scan is out of date and that I may be at risk. The notification cannot be cleared and running a scan does not get rid of it. I have been a paid user for years with no problems. I have to wonder if the recent buyout of the company has anything to do with it. If another update doesn't come out soon to fix the issue, I may be shopping for another app.
