WebSharing (WiFi File Manager)

WebSharing enables you to wirelessly transfer files to and from your phone or tablet using a web browser. You can play and manage music, view your photographs, and manage files on your device using your Wi-Fi network. It additionally features the ability to browse/manage your phone as a WebDAV share.Your data never leaves your WiFi network. Nothing is ever sent to NextApp or any third party. There is no subscription fee of any kind, nor is there any reliance on external servers or Internet access.
* FILE MANAGER: Use the file browser to upload and download content to and from your device. The file browser is a fully functional file manager, with the ability to move, copy, rename, and delete files and folders on the phone/tablet. DRAG-AND-DROP file upload lets you quickly upload files by simply dragging them into the browser. With Google Chrome, you can event drag-and-drop entire hierarchies of folders. Uploaded files are queued/uploaded sequentially, so you can be repeatedly drag files/folders into WebSharing without worry.
* MUSIC: A built-in music player enables you to stream music from your device to your computer. The music tab features the ability to browse by album, artist, and playlist. Tracks can be uploaded and downloaded wirelessly, with the capability to send/receive multiple tracks at once.
* PHOTOS: The photo browser lets you display and download photos to your computer. A built-in image viewer provides the ability to display large photos with pan and zoom capabilities.
* VIDEOS: The video browser displays videos stored on the phone and/or taken by the camera. Videos may be downloaded or viewed directly using both HTML5 and Flash-based video players. The HTML5 player has streaming support, letting you quickly skip to a position inside large movies.
* WEBDAV ACCESS: WebDAV support enables you to mount your phone/device from Windows, Mac, and Linux computers in much the same manner as you would a USB disk or network shared folder.
* GUEST MODE: Two configurable user accounts, "owner" and "guest", allow fine-grained control over what content is accessible through WebSharing. The owner account can see all content on the device, while the guest account can only view certain items that you specify. Each account has its own password and can be quickly enabled or disabled from the main screen of the application.
* PRIVACY AND PERFORMANCE: Your data never leaves your Wi-Fi network when you use WebSharing. It does not use the Internet / cloud to perform transfers. Your computer and phone/tablet will communicate directly and privately. And because your data doesn't go over the Internet, transfers happen at local network speed.Network support: WebSharing is intended for use on Wi-Fi networks, but can work over cellular networks if your carrier allows direct access to phones/devices on their network. Most carriers do not allow cellular access.Browser support: WebSharing supports modern web browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. The music player requires Adobe Flash. The video player can use either HTML5 or Flash. The multiple upload feature requires Adobe Flash.Video format support: WebSharing can play videos using either an HTML5 or Flash-based video player. Video format support varies by browser and operating system. Most current browsers will play MP4 files using HTML5. The Flash player is capable of playing MP4, 3GPP, and FLV files.More information and documentation are available on our web site: http://android.nextapp.com/site/websharing

Don't waste your money. This used to be a great app original was a 4 star. it has not been updated in more than 5 years. If I could remove the 1 star I would. Developers should commit to the development and support of apps. Good app. No more usb cable to transfer files. Only one thing bothers me is that the developer does not update the app.

Since the dev had started updating this again I will update my review. If you do not own this your missing out on the full potential of your device. This should be stock in android, it really is that good. This is the best remote file sharing app, I've tried them all and I always come back to this. Try it!

EDIT: Changed from 3/5 to 5/5 stars. The update 2.0.1 fixed the issue with Chrome v32. I'm so glad I bought this app, thank you for your awesome work and keep it up! :-) Old text: This app was working perfectly fine until yesterday when Google released a new update to Chrome desktop users. I can't drag'n'drop files from and to the device using Chrome v32. But it works with IE11 on the same machine. Can you fix this issue? I'll give you 5 stars if you fix this. Thanks a lot in advance!

Once connected photos don't show, music doesn't play and videos don't list. Status page works, connection works, but features don't. Tested in chrome and internet explorer

Fantastic app, it eliminates the need to connect device trough usb, specially helpful on waterproof devices since they usually have a cover for the usb.

There are a few others that provide features like this one; however, I prefer the web user interface and it's easy to configure. Been using it for years.

I use the free version of this app xoom to share files since I miss placed my USB Cable. The free version was so great that I bought the pro version. I moved 677 megs from my xoom to my laptop in less time than two other apps I tried. this works thew the browsers but not across the internet like other apps. This one goes directly across your local wifi network that your on.

Connect and share wirelessly w/ PC. Map your tablet as a drive in Windows and manage internal+extSD right in Explorer w/WebDAV. It makes it simple to manage files w/o all the need to connect wires and its fast. 5 Stars - so far a fan of all of NextApps' apps.

I have been using this app for years, still working flawlessly. You can transfer everything with this app. Awesome, simple to set up and excellent interface. Super recommended.

I haven't tried the Atlas browser yet, but I have the rest of this Dev's apps, worth every single penny. First things I install on every new system.

Does everything stated except the drag and drop of entire folders. This has yet to work transferring from my chromebook to my device.

On Windows 7 chrome, the folder listing load forever and nothing happens....used to be good on my S1 and S3, but not for my S5 now!

What a great app! This app simplifies transferring files better another device and the phone. No more trying to use the media server option when plugging in a USB cable.

Excellent app! I f***d up my OnePlus somewhere while changed display to new one. Now no PC can see my phone via USB. only charge. Your app made my day :)

No more syncing my phone stuffs with my LINUX MINT pc using Bluetooth and USB cable. It's cool! However, I see this app hasn't been updated for over year which kind of concerns me. I mean, you can update it in a way by allowing users to view documentation (PDF, word, excel, etc) since that feature hasn't been added yet.
