Older dictionaries are increasingly important at a time when powers that be are busy polluting our language with "verbing" and other corrosive, debasing and nauseaing trends they promote—and then normalize in subsequent dictionaries. Webster 1828 is an excellent alternative for people who realize, for example, that "gift" is not a verb except for natural or divine endowment of a power/faculty. This app is not a complete version of Webster 1828 and contains errors, perhaps even alterations.
The original 1828 Noah Webster Dictionary is truly amazing, but this app is an abridgment making it a pathetic offering compared to the real thing and almost useless. I have the hardcopy (available online from Christian Book Distributors) and the entry for "sin" is like three full columns, nearly an entire page in a big huge book. This appears to be part of a deliberate agenda to rewrite history -- a republication of something 200 years old with the salient detail edited out.
Very nice but very basic with no settings other than font size adjustment. It should offer the option of displaying all text with a black background and white text for high contrast and good legibility in all environments
This one doesn't work, and it is no longer supported, but another version is. I tried to download that one and it said, "This app is not available in your country". Really!!?? A dictionary?! I am so tired of being locked out of using English apps just because I happen to live elsewhere.
Please consider changing the copy text feature to a press and hold function. That way one can highlight and copy just the text needed rather than the entire definition.
Quick word search and no permissions necessary! The only problem (and its a big one) is that there is no way to copy the definitions!
Excellent. The dictionary is expensive to buy. Paper versions are essential but on the move this is really handy well reccommended

Wonderful companion for studying the King James Bible! References scripture, and contains "archaic" English words that won't be found in some modern dictionaries. Must have!
Wonderful wonderful wonderful. I can not recommend this enough. The app is very simplistic however this dictionary is great.

Love this old Webster 1828 dictionary! When you type and search the word you want to know , you amaze cause there's a different meaning that easy to understand.
good app I'm old-fashioned and traditional and it has good definitions very seldom do I put in a word that doesn't have.
The definitions are so wealthy compared to quick modern searches and there are bible references from time to time i love that. Please keep this app up to date
Its great when it works. After either tapping the search icon or DONE... Nothing happened until 1 time today then later nothing.

Love the scripture included from God's word in this dictionary. Proves how far we have gone away from the truth in rejecting the word of God in our government and all higher learning.
I used this app until my phone updated then it hasn't worked since, uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing......
The definitions are more accurate. I very much like the use of Holy Scripture

Impressive, I have missed this. Hard to find any old Websters anymore. It is Spiritually set foundation is refreshing. Very nice.
Downloaded the app and tried to look up several different words and nothing.
Just about worthless. Did not have 3 of the first 5 words I tried to look up. Uninstalling.
One of the best dictionary I have ever used, I mainly use it for the king James bible., its very helpful !
Said needed developers to update. Without update would not properly run on 2022 Android phones.
They don't maintain this and it doesn't work properly. So just uninstall this then!

Will there be another version that includes the Etymology and complete definition with the example sentences? Could possibly save and review words... But I am very happy with the app, sleek simple and effective as it is now. THANK YOU Developers! I found this as I was preparing to travel and taking the heavy tome along was just not a practical option.
