Beyond frustrating. I love Webster Bank, but this app is horrible. The "deposit check" feature crashes at least 50% of the time when I'm trying to use it (which is virtually every day). Often takes 6 or 7 tries to get a check deposited. I also use the Wells Fargo app, and have never had an issue with the "deposit check" feature. Not even once.....

Excellent. Other than a couple of log-in issues in the space of all the years I've used this app, the experience had been wonderful. Bold, uncluttered, easy to digest information displays, simple operation, and useful functions make me almost forget that this is an app, until I was prompted to rate it. It's more like an integral part of my phone to me. Anyway, thanks to whomever developed this. It's so problem-free I took it for granted.

The redesigned app worked for about a week but then started crashing. Now I get as far as the login screen and then it closes. With Webster now charging $11.50/ month for "free checking" and an app that is unusable, I am definitely shopping around for other banking options. I have been with Webster for 20 years and would like to remain a customer. Unless they get the app working again, I will definitely be switching to another bank.

The new app is NOT as useful or user-friendly as the old one. First, the check photos cannot be seen as easily, nor as quickly, as previously; you have to dig into a menu to get to them and they are slow to appear Second, and most important, the mobile check deposit function doesn´t work! The focus keeps stating ¨move closer"until 90% of the check is off the display! Even then, it says ¨move closer." This renders mobile check depositing impossible. Bring back the old app!!!!

It's been very buggy, especially since the last update. It comes in handy and is very useful but it's annoying often. The filter on transaction history never works, actually the app shuts down when you try to search anything. Ever since the last update, the app keeps opening on it's own, I get a notification that the app is running without me even opening it and I have to constantly force stop it. It's good for checking your balance and deposit though.

This app needs a lot of improvement. I've used several other bank apps and this one falls short. It needs to be much clearer regarding mortgage transfers. I had to go onto my desktop computer to clearly see that my principal payment had been applied correctly. There is no chat functionality. In order to communicate with them in real time I had to call them and go through a myriad of prompts. At one point I sighed and that cut off the prompt and left me in limbo. Tldr; bad ux

Worst bank app ever. Always says I'm offline when I'm trying to log on which isn't the case. Webster's bank statement history is horrible as well. Shows transactions for two years then doesn't go back any further. What's the point of having this stuff online when you can't properly look at everything. Back to printing everything out and keeping a file folder.

I mean it works, most of the time, for basic stuff. But, it really is pretty half-assed. Can't change any info or settings or any thing from the app. . . It, instead directs you to their website, where you have to enter your credentials yet again. . . Kind of adds an unnecessary extra step. I gutta go to the website for most stuff anyhow, so what's really the point of the app? I mean, why wouldn't you include these features in your app? If they are, they certainly are not easy to find!

Missing key elements other banks have. Starts up on restart of phone, cant turn that feature off, kills battery. REALLY annoying. Does not give notification when account has been used like other apps. That aids in safety. Also warning/updates such as when banking centers will be closed has option to 'never show again' but even when clicked... still come up again later.

This app SUCKS and, THEREFORE, so does WEBSTER BANK! WORSE than SNB - if that's possible! Forced to sign in multiple times. I can't imagine how anyone gave this app a (5) star rating, unless they were PAID to write that lie! The "accounts" category is only good for viewing my most recent Balance, and the ZELLE option to send money or pay bills - NEVER WORKS... w/out an Apple I-Phone! PLUS there's no way to contact anyone BEFORE the actual bank opens. Unaccectable! It's time to SWITCH Banks!

Webster Bank makes it so easy. The only time I had trouble was when I had an old phone with little memory. I couldn't use the deposit feature then. But everything is running smoothly for years. The deposit feature is super and works well, and I like having the different options for check deposits.

The App works well except for the the Pay Bill part. It goes to an endless loop and comes back with server error message. Tried everything thing, uninstall, turn on and off... Etc nothing works. The bill pay function has been fixed for a few months now. Works great.

This is by far the worst banking app I've ever used. If there aren't a thousand errors logging in, there is a lack of information that is unexcusable. This app can't even show the banks routing number or your account number so I can link to other financial accounts. I will be closing my Webster bank account and opening another with a real Bank.

Unable to log into the app on my new Motorola Moto G Pure phone. I was told that the app is incompatible with my phone, which is running Android 11, BTW. My phone works perfectly fine with the Bethpage FCU app so I just deposited my checks there instead. Our main checking account is at Webster so this is disappointing, especially since we have been banking with Webster's predecessors for almost 50 years. Now contemplating moving our accounts totally over to Bethpage.

This app is useless for depositing checks and wastes more time than it saves. After months with this probkem, it still rejects a stamped endorsement on the back. 3/23/22. Since my last review the app has actually gotten worse. It is actually faster to drive to the bank then to try to deposit checks.

They have done a great job of updating the app. I'm very happy with it. There are a couple of little things that I would like to see. For example, I only have one account (for now). When I'm doing a mobile deposit, I would like to be able to set a "default" account for deposits so I don't have have to select the account every time. Also, some checks don't have the little symbols at the end of the number string at the bottom of the check, and the app doesn't recognize the deposit.

Regularly fails to take a photo. When it fail it attempts to take a photo, but crashes back to my home screen. I must log in and try again to make a deposit. Many times, I have to uninstall the app and reinstall it to get success.

From the reviews that I have read, it would appear that I am not the only one having trouble with this app. It was working just fine up until a few weeks ago. I can access the screen but that's all. It no longer provides the opportunity to log in.

Can't open the app. Have uninstalled and reinstalled. Every time it says it won't open because I'm not connected to the internet. I am connected to the internet. I've tried in 3 different locations with full wi-fi / data. Unable to make mobile deposit. Not impressed.

The app constantly crashes or brings you to blank pages. Zelle option rarely works and when it does it takes 2-3days for payments to reach the recipient. There is no live person to discuss any issues with on weekends. This bank has quickly become a bank I no longer want to keep my money with. What's the point of having today's technology if it never works and I can't speak to a real person and the business hours are from the 60s? Why should I keep money in this bank?

The frintprint option doesn't work. I find myself going to the main website page to conduct business. It's easier and efficient on the website. I only use the app to transfer mine or pay a bill.

I have reconnected and disconnected my internet after uninstalling and reinstalling this app thinking something was wrong with my internet connection. My internet is perfectly fine. This app will not allow me to log in whatsoever. This is my very first time mobile banking and it is very inconvenient. Please look into this so others do not have this challenge.

Cannot view credit card transactions from the app. Paying bills doesn't block out the dates that you have to wait so you have to guess how many business days you have to wait to select the right date. I'm here to rate the app not the website as Webster replied. You should be able to view your credit card from the app like bank of America

Webster bank is so far behind other Banks with technology. App barely works and when it does it is super slow. Constantly making updates but it just keeps getting worse. I'm already looking into switching banks. I've been with Webster for over 20+ years and I think it's time for a change

This app has been terrible for years. How is this app STILL so bad? There's no reason for it. Constantly crashing, won't let you log in, takes forever to log in when it actually lets you. There are hundreds upon thousands of apps out there that work. Do better

App freezes alot When depositing checks the app has trouble reading the endorsements. Please fix! Feb 7th 2022. I uninstalled the app then reinstalled. Still can't deposit checks!!! I need to get money in the bank asap. This is very inconvenient and I'm changing banks.

I've had the app for a few years, and so far it has worked smoothly. One time, one of several checks I mobile-deposited in one session did not make it, so it was a bit confusing. But I was anle to clear it out, and deposit it again.

The app worked great until recently, now when I use the finger print scanner it spins and says logging in then displays a " we are unable to complete your request" message.... I can still log on thru chrome. And yes I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Looks like I'll be taking my banking elsewhere.

This app is SLOW and always crashing. The payment section is very poorly organized. It's the worst banking/credit card app I use. It always tells you it can't reach the server, and to connect to the Internet when you already are. Today, I was told none of my accounts have access to the pay a bill feature - I've been e-banking for 15 years! It's also a joke that Webster hss an e-checking account, meaning banking by app and ATM. And you can't do what you need to with this app. Pathetic!

Mobile deposit feature has some serious issues. It won't allow me to submit a check because it cannot detect account information with a clear image no matter how many times I retake the picture. I've also had to sign the backs of checks multiple times because it couldn't detect the endorsement.
