I wanted a simple thesaurus, not a dictionary. I didn't want texts, alerts, notifications, and ads asking for $13 in 30 days. Honestly, sometimes these app developers just can't see that people are willing to pay for the simple things... No one wants to highlight a word, from Fourier to choose this app, switch to that app and search for an alternate meaning after 3 screens. Simply frustrating. Deleted.
What a scam! First of all, a thesaurus shouldn't require permissions. You can't actually use it without a form of payment or promo code. Uninstalled immediately, waste of time.
Not worth the download. while functional at first it is only a 'limited trial' before you are required to purchase a $12.99 subscription to continue using the app, which does not even store any information offline unless you purchase the subscription which makes it useless if you are on limited data or have no connection. Avoid even downloading and don't waste your time.
Too many adds! The app took too long to seach for words. I was very disappointed because the actual reference book is so robust. By the time the word seach was completed l could have pulled the hard copy of the book off the shelf several times and used it. So much for expediency!
The word "appearing" did not appear. How ironic. 1 star. Needs to be fixed. Immediately hit with ad?? I should have given it -1 just for wasting my time. $12.99?? Forget your app. Easier to use a web browser by that point. If changes are made, maybe I'll come back around. Obviously people like this with 3.9 rating. 🤷♂️
trial. I downloaded it and guess I never realized it was a trial. it was useful I guess but def not worth the $13 it costs after the trial period. I feel like the ads more than support the app and it should just be free. uninstalling
I was under the impression that I was downloading a Thesaurus. I'm either too old (66) or too technologically incompetent in the operation of this particular application.... I am unable to find ANY information regarding the usage of a Thesaurus...... from my personal experience..... it-is-only-a- dictionary!!
The title of this app is "Webster's New World Roget's A-Z Thesaurus." However, it is a dictionary, NOT a thesaurus. And of the included list of additional apps, NONE of them use Roget's structure. Very disappointing given Webster's excellent reputation.
The app won't even work without granting it storage access. It says it's to save dictionary to your device, but offline access is a premium feature so what is it really doing with that access?
Wants permission to access to photos and other functions that a thesaurus does not need to look up words. I denied access and it does not load. I uninstalled it. Consider the one star as a negative integer. I have to rate with at least one star, or you can not post. 🤬
Literally have to pay $13 for the app by forcing to pay for "premium". Not even like AdBlock, you literally can't look up words without paying for premium.
Uninstalle it because I could not use the app without giving it full access to all my personal contacts, photos, media etc... You're supposed to be a thesaurus. Why would you need all that access to my personal data?
Downloaded it as a thesaurus. It is not. It used to be. I hadn't used it in a while, so imagine my surprise. I suppose there may have been an option to purchase the thesaurus, but I wasn't interested in buying it if there was. Too bad. They need to change name.
good app. At least,after purchasing its access should be offline. whenever I want to use it offline, it always suggest to download data. I am tired of downloading it again and again. Please improve it so that once data is downloaded, it should be available offline forever.
Why does a thesaurus demand access to my "files" and "CAMERA?" The camera and PHOTOS? And if I'm PAYING $13, why do you still get to sling more customized ADVERTISING at me? "Advertising Cookies. Advertising Cookies are used to serve you with advertisements that may be relevant to you and your interests." If I'm paying $13 for a thesaurus app, I get last call on whether you bombard me with EXTRA ADVERTISING. That's insane. And your USER INTERFACE is child-like.
This #$@& app no longer works right. I got a PAID copy of the thesaurus, and it now takes me to the dictionary and demands $13 for a lifetime license to use that. What happened to the thesaurus I purchased??? Given their performance so far I'm not going to be sending any more money their way.
It doesn't even have the word bouy, which is a flotation device which can be anchored or set adrift. It is pronounced boo-ee. So not so comprehensive.
this app isnt really the best yet its not the worst. too many ads. most of the time the word i search wont appear. woudnt really recommend this app.
Do not download. This isn't what you want. Using the web browser is easier and less congested. You shouldn't have to pay $12.99 for the access to a thesaurus. Look for another app.
Been using this for years, now my "free trial" is over & they want $12.99. I thought that's what the ads were for.
Doesn't even load properly. I try to put in a word and it just gives me the verb back not any information on the word. It froze immediately on launch again
it's got a 30 day free trial, then you pay. we in Google play are supposed to have the info on paid apps should we choose to not download them.
I wanted a thesaurus, but got a dictionary. Then it tried to make me pay $12 to unlock premium. I unistalled as soon as I seen that. Crappy app.
It can be used with any reading materials. Simple but at least comprehensive words.
I wasn't impressed with this app. I gave it a shot but was very disappointed. There is nothing to do and the layout seems very dull. Not much to do after installing it.
Terrible!! Wanted a Thesaurus! Not a Dictionary that doesn't even function and tries sell you a copy of itself for $12.99. Really bad! Don't waste your time!
It was horrible because I wanted the thesaurus and could not access it unless I spent $13 so all I can get with the dictionary which I do not need.
I just can't seem to open this app, and ONLY THIS APP, without it going into AIRPLANE MODE!!! HUH??? So, obviously, I cannot use it. Wish I could give it Zero stars. In the meantime, the entire screen is covered in ads, and if I DO TRY to change it from airplane mode, no matter where I click, I hit an ad. Just a terrible app!!!
