This app worked fine for years...there must have been an update recently as for about the last month every time I try to read an article the app freezes, reloads, opens again only to freeze when trying to read any article...I'll uninstall and re-install to see if that fixes it but I'll be uninstalling permanently if I still have problems. Do not even bother using since last update. Ads are trying to pop up but block entire story. When you try to back out it takes you back to the home page. You have to do this at least 2 times just to see some of the stories. I have gave it a while to see if it would be fixed but no such luck.
They did have a good app. Then they decided to make changes. It has been very poor since. It keeps dropping articles after opening, sending you back to the main page. Neverending glitches.
It's fine for what it does, but I have had too many instances of video ads playing when it's inappropriate for sound to be coming from my phone. It's embarrassing and takes too long to stop. I am unable to find a setting to prevent this.
Any little deviation from scrolling straight up switches the page to a other story. Totally frustrating. Bring back the old design. Ready to find a other local news app for news.
Frustrating. A recent update has made the app worthless. It closes randomly, I get way too many alerts, and some stories just won't load. I adjusted alerts to Breaking News only and still get too many. Buggy app
New app waaay to long to load the intro ad. I just close it out after 20 or more seconds. Looking for something else in Wilmington. Just found WWAY app. Looks much better. WECT gone.
No pop up notification even after I turn on notifications. I personally did not receive any. It maybe that I am use to WRAL it has more information pop up. (This is only my personal experience and opinion)
I live in the WECT viewing area Northeast of Pender Co. Just 42 miles of Wilmington. I watch the weather and sport Live on my Smartphone ZTE by Tracfone and the WECT channel app locally. Thanks. I would recommend this app to those watch in Maple Hill, NC.
New app choppy long lag time. Hate your bich slapping advertising . And canstant jumping up and down do to insert ads.video ads take forever to load .causes freezing up of app and dropping out of app
I had to remove my glowing WECT review. Although we still TRUST & LOVE WECT, we find that the new WECT app simply doesn't work!!! PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the former WECT NEWS app! If it wasn't broke, why did you have to fix it? I'm telling y'all, THIS NEW APP DOES NOT WORK!! PLEASE FIX IT BY GOING BACK TO THE OLD APP 😣
S21 ultra - lots of blank white screens popping up when trying to click on articles or scroll thru the stories. About to delete the app if you can't fix the issues.
Can we get the older version back....this one is not user friendly and very frustrating to just scroll to see local news for the ads and videos.
New update, a lot of times when you click on an article, it shows it for a few seconds and then turns to a blank white page. Please fix.
The weather app was ok, but it would freeze your phone or make it restart. The solution was to uninstall. I can find just the weather app now. I don't need their news.
When I am trying to read a story, the screen goes blank. When I click on an alert, it takes a long time for it to load. This app is a pain.
Lots of ads. WECT makes their news anchors advertise the app daily. Figured I would try for a day. Gone from my phone after a day. Don't need it

Still like WECT on TV but rather have the app. Deleted the app because of the long ad when it opens up!!
I enjoyed this app before the last update. Now pop-up ads come up every time I pull it up and it's harder to navigate

user to be a 5 star app until I had to watch the same add over and over every time I click on something. for this reason I had to drop the rating down to 3....
It was a great app now it's just ads and half the time I have already seen the breaking news on tv 15 or 20 minutes before the app alerts me
The loud alert is rediculous. It has caused me to cancel app. As well as all the ads. Over kill
Used to be a good app. Increasingly freezing up, clicking on push headlines almost always hangs and never loads. About all this is good for now is pushing headlines.
