Wegmans SCAN

I found that this app makes shopping easier for me! I like that it keeps a running total (which helps me stick to my list). It did frequently disconnect from the network and I'd have to wait a couple minutes before I could scan again (Galaxy Flip 3), but that wasn't too bad because I'd just keep shopping and scan my stuff in batches once it reconnected. Would be 5 stars if it could integrate with the main Wegmans app so I could see my shopping list and automatically remove items as I scan them.

Doesn't import your list from main Wegmans app, have to switch between apps to buy stuff. For produce, some scales make you print out the barcode wasting ink and paper, others will let you scan the screen. Even if an item already has a sticker and the price is per item, you still need to go visit the scale and input that you are infact buying only one, and then it prints out a label even though the item has a sticker. What a waste! Hopefully they improve the app, cause as is, I am not a fan.

App itself is basic but works as long as it's able to connect to Wi-Fi which in my particular store is spotty towards the back. My biggest gripe with the app is the lack of any other functionality. This app should have some crossover to the regular Wegmans app and allow you to build a grocery list and as you go and scan items it should deduct those items from your list so you can see what you haven't purchased yet.

Works fairly well though at times has a bit of a delay. Occasionally I get an error with some prepared foods that I would need a cashier assistance. Would love to see the ability to work seamless while other apps are being utilized. An example would be to allow Spotify/headphones to play while getting groceries. Integration with Google lists and pulling up item locations in stores would be AMAZING.

After using this app for over a year, I have had few problems in that time frame. I use this app at least twice a week. However, this app does not work on the Samsung Z Flip 3. It appears that this app hasn't been updated from the developer since August 2020? Seems problematic. *edited April 2022* Somewhere along the line, this issue was fixed. Others reported the same thing with their Flips. However, the app itself is a touch glitchy when in use still.

Have used the app at least 1 or 2 times a month since 6/2020. A quantity input would be amazing, otherwise the app works better than expected. Integration w/ the other Wegmans shopping app would be a nice perk. My shopping trips are slightly shorter in length w/ the addition of this app as once you get into a flow with it you get in a groove. Gone are the days of the frustration of waiting 10+ mins at the checkout for cashier to ring up & bag my groceries inefficiently (prev cashier here). Thx!

Loved this app from the beginning, but when I got a new Galaxy z Flip 3 it just would not scan/recognize the bar codes at all, and I would have to be sure to remember to bring my iPhone with me to the store. Not sure what was included in the most recent update but it works perfectly again.. Thank you very very much.

Overall actually pretty good, but if you forget to literally *close* the app before leaving the store, the only way to get rid of the annoying notification in the bar is to force close via settings - the app won't open/function *at all* outside of wegman's wifi. I do like that it doesn't empty your cart every time the screen locks or rotates like walmart's app does, though! An in-app "wallet" is 100% needed, too. Forcing use of a physical payment method kinda ruins the experience...

Edit on second try, after reinstalling the app and installing it AT Wegmans, it worked well. But first time I tried, it completely did not work, connected to Wegmans wifi, I see get started button, click it and see blank scan logo screen. Tried restarting app, turn on and off mobile data and wifi multiple times. Get notifications tap to continue mobile shopping which just takes me to black scan logo screen. App is supposed to save time but my first try just wasted 30 minutes.

I LOVE being able to shop with the scan as you go. It's so simple to use. It tally's your $$ as you shop. You can very easily delete any item and make changes at any time. And no wait to check out!

I've been using the app with ease which makes for a pleasant shopping experience....that is until today. I was ready to connect to the stores wifi as usual and to my surprise, it doesn't work anymore on my Pixel Pro. Bummer 😞

Loved using this app. Last night it updated. Today I went to the store and it said the version I had was wrong and I had to update it. I uninstalled, restarted my phone, reinstalled and same error. How is the current version out of date? Fix it because I love the app when it works.

Very useful, except for Galaxy Z fold 3 phone. It doesn't scan with the phone folded. You have to scan with the phone unfolded for it to work, which is quite inconvenient while shopping

I like to use this app. However, the most recent upgrade seems to have broken location permission and fails to connect to Wegmans WiFi, on Pixel 5a. Manually connecting to Wegmans WiFi first, worked fine.

You're not using the updated version, please install the updated version and try again. Ok, no updates available! Uninstall, reinstall, same mag. Reboot, delete cache & storage, same msg. Can't test until you're on Wegmans wifi, WTH.

Update: app now works, and is a huge convenience and time-saver. Makes shopping so much easier!! Upgrading from 1 star to 4 Like others, I continuously get error "unable to configure network on SSID = wegmans". In store service desk was zero help! Why launch an application that doesn't work and gets NO support?!? Wegmans usually does things right ...they missed the mark BIG time with this useless app!

App did not connect to wifi and there was an error message with retry or cancel. Location must be on, and the app never put that in the error message. I do not keep my location on.

App refuses to connect to the network at my local Wegmans, even though my device is already connected to it, so I can't do ANYTHING! & it's the same whether I'm on my tablet OR my phone! (both Samsung -- Tab A tablet & A13 5G phone)

Great app, especially since the start of the pandemic. Practically no waiting in line. Would like it if you could put in a quantity before scanning an item. Having to scan the same barcode multiple times is a little annoying. First world problem. The one very important thing when using the app is to be aware of the time. Wegmans closes self checkout at 10:00 pm. Once they are closed, you have scanned everything for nothing. You cannot checkout with the app. They do not make an announcment.

Fast and easy to get in and out of the store. Excellent during COVID. Near flawless, aside from not being integrated with the Wegmans shopping list app. I love never having to unload my cart. I scan, put in my bag, pay and leave. It's awesome. If you find this app not working in the store make sure you have both your WiFi and Location turned on in your phone. Customer service was unaware that they needed to ask about the Location. All in all great!

Good, room for improvement. Works really well but doesn't save your cart. If you accidentally close the app (as I did) you lose everything and have to re-scan. It should save the cart until you check out or cancel it. I don't know if it integrates with the original Wegmans app - that would be great to build integrated shopping lists that mark off items as you get them and help to build lists based on previous purchases.

The issue has returned. Phone crashes whenever an item is scanned. I upgraded my phone to the latest version of Android in this now works. The application is awesome. The application causes my phone to crash whenever scanning an item. I restarted and rescanned multiple items multiple times with the same outcome. The application is unusable. it's disappointing because this concept is great.

I use this app about every week, usually for small trips but have used it for a couple bigger ones as well. Downloaded it in early June and it still works fine, I haven't experienced any of the connectivity issues that others report. Always use at Ridgemont, older Android phone. I like being able to scan as I go through the store and seeing how much I've spent, and checkout is super quick. Wish I could load a shopping list so I don't have both a list and my phone in my hands while shopping!!

Works great ... when it works. I've only been able to use it once. For every other attempt, it timed out and said it could not connect to store wifi, even though my phone was connected to the store wifi. So frustrating and a big hassle when I expect to be able to shop quickly and checkout with all my items already packed how I like but nope! Still have to go through regular checkout.

Worked great for previous store visits, but today, when I was nearly done with a large shopping trip, it started completely crashing my phone -- not just the app, the entire phone -- every time I tried to scan something. Thankfully I was still able to bring up my order at checkout, though it crashed my phone again. I got home and found an $8+ charge for some tomatoes I most definitely didn't buy. Wondering if something happened during one of the many crashes. Don't use until it's updated.

I didn't seem to have a lot of the issues others had with WiFi dropping out and stuff like that. But if you use the shopping app to create your shopping list, it is a real pain to go back and forth between the scan app and the shopping app. Surely there's a way to integrate the two somehow, because this really limits the usefulness of both apps. All that said, when I did my trial run this weekend (scanned everything I bought but didn't use the app to check out), it was accurate. I'll give it a real run this weekend. Update: I actually used the app today to check out after my dry run last week. It was quick and flawless. One other thing I was able to figure out this week was how to properly use it at a produce kiosk so I didn't have to print a label. It's just a shame it's not integrated with the shopping app... seems like it would be so easy to, instead of checking something off the list, simply scan the item. I would give this 4-5 stars if it was, or if I didn't use the Wegmans app shopping list feature... I'm keeping my rating low to hopefully give the developer something to work on. Update 2: This app works so slick that I'm going to give Wegmans the benefit of the doubt and hope they rolled this out early (without integration) because of the pandemic. Hopefully they're working on better integration. I'll up my review to a '3' for now.

I like the idea of the app but it has a few bugs. It looses connectivity if I open a web browser. It's also prone to double scanning items, so make sure to check your receipt before you leave the store! The store staff was very clear that it's the shopper's responsibility to check the item quantity. I also agree with the previous suggestion that a quantity button would be a great improvement.

Used this for the first time today. It worked flawlessly throughout the shopping trip. I didn't use all the features, but what I did use worked well especially the scanner / camera. The camera worked so well that it scanned a couple of items without switching to the camera feed. The ability to scan our items and bag them along the way was great. One benefit is not having to use plastic bags and labels for the produce department.

(device used: Pixel 4) Absolutely awesome app!! I've been excited for this for some time now, and it finally came to my home store. Efficient and fun concept that let's you scan and bag as you shop. However: slight bug when scanning and the high pitched scanning sound... and the sound seems to be so loud that if I have my volume turned up just high enough (unsure exactly how high, maybe above 80 percent) it causes my phone to crash and reboot. If I have the volume set to 25-50% it doesn't do it

I use a Note 10. Fantastic. Made my checkout super easy. Scanned as I went and then cashed out at a self checkout. Some MINOR bugs need to be worked out - probably the wifi connectivity, as my first scan at the self checkout didn't work, but I tried again a few seconds later and it worked perfectly. LOVE IT. My main suggestion would be just integrating it into the Wegmans, but having to switch between two apps is barely an inconvenience for this ease.
