WeMo Widgets

The standard wemo app lacks widgets and takes too long to load. This makes the devices much easier to use. Sometimes it doesn't work, but not sure if it's the product of a wifi glitch or the app, so I'm content to give it the benefit of the doubt. The redesign has been nice, especially adding the auto scan for devices.

Please add the option to change the name and IP address of an item already in the list. Also, please make widgets refresh at some interval to show the current state of devices that may have been changed by another user. Tasker support and mobile data capabilities will make this a 5 star app and an instant buy for me.

This app worked while I had a galaxy s5 bit when I got a galaxy note 5 it stopped. For anyone else having this issue just create a do button using ifttt and place it on your hoe screen. You just don't get the functionality of knowing it's on or off directly from the widget as you do with this one when it does work.

These widgets filled a need for me very well, but I'm a techie, and I would have had problems if I weren't. For instance, if the scan for Wemo devices fails, as it did with me, you can still make this work, but you have to know how to find out what your various Wemo devices' IP addresses are. Also, I am not clear what would happen if DHCP issued different addresses to the devices later, so I switched all my devices to static DHCP. If I lost you, that's what I'm talking about...but it if works for you, it will work well!

Auto Discover did not find any connected Wemo's, so I logged into my router to find the IP addresses of all connected devices. I had to guess which IP belonges to a particular Wemo, but in the end, it works great. Please work on Auto Discover to make it work for those of us who may not be technically knowledgeable to get this app working.

I would pay 99¢ if this app worked correctly. Sadly it doesn't. Even though my light is turned on the widget shows that it's turned off. What is the point of this widget if it's not showing the correct on/off of the light... The widgets/buttons don't line up with other at icons on screen. The titles overlap the icons for the widgets. This is a really unprofessional widget. Garbage. Why release crap like this. Make something good or stop wasting our time.

This is great. Hope the developer can take into account in the next update that the Wemo uses 2 different port numbers sometimes. That's why only half of my wemos work via IP. Sometimes they use port 49153 and sometimes they use port 49154. If you would be able to provide an update to send via both ports that would make it perfect and I'll adjust my rating to 5 stars. Hope you can implement it. - update 27/3/15 5 stars now for fixing ports issue! Widgets draining battery, maybe u can check?

EDIT: Widget has now worked for weeks, so 5 stars. Much better :-). Any widget becomes unusable after a few days, so you have to recreate it. Can understand the ads as it's free, but it doesn't reliably work. If it becomes reliable, instant 5 stars as would be perfect.

Works better for me than the official app! The widget works great and is faster and easier to use Helps to overcome discovery issues when you use dual band wireless. My Wemo switch is on 2.4GHz and My phone on 5GHZ, with the official app this is a know issue and currently not supported. Discovery did not work for me, but I set an IP reservation on the Wemo Switch and manually added instead. Now I can use my Wemo device without having to switch wireless connection every time.

Useless! Not being able to scan search hence can't even try see if it's working. And I do not want to do manually because you advertise here as having scan search in the newest version. And those ads are really annoying..

Like others stated, the widgets seem to stop working after a day or so and need to be re-added to the home screen. If this was fixed, easy 5 stars + I'm sure people would gladly pay for it. The wemo app is terrible

A previous post alerted me to the 2 ports that helped me find them manually, also placing switches on static IPs (only through reservations from your dhcp device) can help them stay put, but software can't find devices automatically and there is no way to edit widgets after they have been created which would be very helpful I hope these features can be added. Great when working pain to set up. Requires some tech know how.

Not as described. It doesn't automatically scan for devices and even when you enter the IP address manually it still doesn't always work

It used to work fine for a while, but after updating my android system it doesn't pick up any wemos in the network. Please fix, 1 star till it's fixed.

Can't get this WeMo widget app to work, recommend you go for the other app just called WeMo which works fine. That one would be better if it came with a one step widget.

I have several Wemos and my phone is on the same WiFi network but the app can't see any devices.

Used to work perfectly several Android versions ago. Since then development has been abandoned leaving the app useless

This worked perfectly when I installed it yesterday. However, later in the day, the widget would only turn yellow, and then grey again. It never seemed to connect to the light. If I delete the widget, and discover the device again, and then add the widget, it works. I would love this if I could count on it!

I have the same experience as many others. The widget works perfectly fine, then just stops working after some days and must be re-created in order to function again. This is a headache. I'm considering training myself to use the wemo app directly.

Occasionally works fine but usually just unresponsive. Also had to remake the widget becausd the ip on wemo changed

This app has useful potential and could be a 5-star with a little tweaking. What I like: Instant access to my WEMO's compared to WEMO's 30 second without elevator music wait time. What I hate: All the widgets I create disappear on reboot. This is the game changer and the reason I give it 1 star. Exercise in futility until this is fixed and renders into the catagory of Do Not Install! What I dislike: All the widgets are WEMO Switch icons. No automatic scanning...UHG!! Widgets don't initially poll devices so everything appears to be OFF when first displaying the page of widgets. They work once each is activated...just don't reboot.

Hoping for an update that will include the Wemo LED bulbs over the Wemo Bridge. Had to buy a third party widget to control them aswell.

It fails to find the WeMo by scanning. It will not work when you manually enter the address. It also has way too many adds. Don't bother downloading the app. I spent 20 minutes trying to figure it out.

Firmware /software updates have left this app useless. Use to use it regularly. Have now uninstalled 😔

I was not able to use the app because every time I touched it a full screen ad popped up.

I haven't tried the option to add manually but the automatic scan doesn't find my WeMo switch.

Every time I power cycle my phone the widgets disappear and have to be added again, functions great otherwise.

Works great for the plug switch but needs support for led bulbs and the bridge. AND ADS ARE SO ANNOYING. i would buy to be rid of this garbage.
