West Marine

The FREE West Marine app provides, when coupled with a West Marine VHF radio with Bluetooth Text Messaging capability, the ability to use text messaging between West Marine na Uniden radios when offshore, out of range of Cellular or Wi-fi coverage.

• Use your phone to send and receive private text messages
• Just pair your phone to a West Marine (Bluetooth enabled) VHF radio
• App uses your radio DSC Individual directory for text messaging contact information
• The receiving radio will acknowledge the received text message (when in range)
• Also works with Uniden VHF radios with Bluetooth, Text Messaging capability
• RTCM 12301.1 Standards compliant

Absolutely useless. Upon startup it requires being paired with another Bluetooth device. Lame.. Can't just open app like millions of other ones

why bluetooth? as soon as you download the app it wants you to connect to something via bluetooth but doesn't tell you what. why can't I just buy something through the app?
