Why have they removed the real time train info which showed exactly where your train was on a route map. That was so very useful and I used it everyday. When I try and look up trains leaving my station there is no option for destination so I have to search through all departures. It shows the search box for a millisecond then another pop up menu appears. This app used to work really well but now it's useless. Someone needs to redo it properly. Have now switched to trainline.
The app wasn't perfect before but after the new update it's almost useless and only serves as a way to buy tickets and show tickets, that's it. They've removed the option to see service updates or live train times, to look at where your train is in its journey and to have favourite journeys, which is 95% of what I used this app for in the first place. Now having to use the London Midland app for all of that and hoping they don't update in the same way.
Doesn't do much other than let you but tickets. UI keeps changing too. Get used to knowing how to use it and everything changes!
Whenever I need to authenticate the ticket purchase in my Credit Card app this authentication never seems to then transfer to the WMR app and work. WMR app just says payment processing but never does. You are then stuck in limbo not knowing whether your card has been debited or not
New updated app is absolutely useless now. I used it daily to check the train times, I have a season ticket so don't need to buy tickets. They've taken away the favourite stations Why, oh why did you take away this feature? PLEASE BRING BACK THIS FEATURE URGENTLY!! I hope you seriously read all the reviews and get this sorted asap. Now I have to try & find another app where I can save favourite stations to check train times, delays etc.
Good, but too many clicks to get to ticket- app should open on existing tickets not buy tickets, for when needing to get in a hurry when travelling. Otherwise well designed and useful.
Tried to pay for a ticket with multiple cards and it still didn't work. Pay the booking fee on other apps and avoid the frustration
Quick and easy to buy tickets. When checking times it would be helpful if the number of carriages were displayed on the app.
How hard can it be to save tickets that you've just bought to the phone. Do you know when you don't have a signal ? When you are coming out of the undergeound part of a train station. Having to wait for it to load is frustrating
Significantly worse since the recent update. Favourite journeys have been removed so I can no longer check times with 1 tap. Return tickets are now quite unwieldy to access. The screen also no longer automatically brightens on the ticket so I have to manually turn it up to get through the useless ticket gates.
New design is much better but they removed some useful features that were previously built in such as departure lookup and live status of their network. If your going to remove them and replace them with links to your website, I may as well use another app like trainline.
No longer shows live departure times which was a good feature. An 'upgrade' that is worse. Just about selling tickets now, it seems, which others do just as well.
Simply does not work. Can't buy a ticket for more than 1 day and now is not showing live departures. Awful app. Awful company. 2022: new update to app and they've taken away your favourite stations so now you can't see how late your cancelled train will be. Worst company in the UK by a mile. You seriously all need to be sacked. Especially the clown who designed this app.
Bring Back the Live Train Times.. the update is horrendous, not user friendly at all. I wouldn't even give it a 1 star. There was nothing wrong with the previous vision of this app. Who designed the upgrade of this app? What a waste of time, having to look for another app to use now 🙄
Generally pretty easy to use and easy to find information. Useful that it remembers previous journeys so you can buy repeat tickets quickly. Likewise live journeys are easy to use. The ticket wallet is a bit annoying as it seems to change the format the tickets are available for no reason. Sometimes it requires you to activate your ticket which makes it a much more long-winded process to open the bar code to scan at the station. It would also be useful to be able to manage payment methods.
A little tlc maybe, I find this app, underworked, unloved maybe, needs a bit of effort to make it known alot more. It's working, sort of. Now onto more negatives..I have had an experience where the ticket (QR), won't work whilst at the barriers. Another time, the guard on the train, tried to scan the ticket and it wouldn't show up on the system.
Not a bad app but when a live departure search is done, the stations are stored for quick reference. Is it possible to delete these stations permanently? When you swipe left and bin the stations, they keep coming back when you navigate back to the page. Would also like to plan a journey without being offered tickets all the time.
New update is missing useful features like the quick departures lookup If all the app does is open webpages, you might just as well use your browser and forget the app as there's hardly any difference
This app crashes almost every time I try to open an e-ticket. The screen flickers, freezes and the crashes. Very unreliable, especially when you have a train guard breathing down your neck wanting to check your ticket. Get it sorted out. This has been a problem all the time I've had this app
Update 10/2/20 - the problem with getting tickets from the homepage has been resolved, so I've updated the rating - thanks for fixing it. Was my favourite ticket app until the update as it 'just worked' Since the V2 update, it crashes if you try and access your tickets from the homepage, but it is still fine if you go via the Ticket Wallet page. This new feature was a good idea as finding tickets was slow, but it doesn't work correctly at the moment.
Intuitive, clear and easy to use
Disastrous update. I don't buy tickets, I have a pass, so the quick ability to check departures of my favourite routes having gone missing has ruined it.
Same experience as many, live train times have gone now, I recommend using Trainline app, they've put buying tickets over showing train times, as trains are often late and as many I have a train pass so buying a ticket isn't the priority.
Preferred the previous app. This one just links to Web pages and doesn't work as efficiently on my android phone. Backward step imo.
Where has the live train info gone please? Has it been removed? Other comments suggest it has. It was the most useful thing on the app, just being able to click my train to check it's running and on time but I can't find it anywhere. If it has been removed please can you return it? If it hasn't please can you tell me where it is? Thank you
Not a very useful app since the last update. No in app departure /arrival board or easy to view train times for your common journeys
If it wasn't the only way to buy a flexi-season ticket I would delete this app. It has crashed my phone several times at the barriers and once logged me out at the barriers, making me miss my train home. And when I claimed delay-repay I had to re-enter all my ticket details, even uploading an image (screenshot) of the ticket which is stored by this app in my account. Unbelievably poor.
