I updated the app and tried to use this but it does not work. Other people have written and have the same experience. A Westjet Logo and white screen and nothing more. It is a waste of time, I am growing increasingly tired of wasting my time downloading apps that do not work. And a company like Westjet that just sent me a an email that says "Download our App for a Touchless Experience" and the app doesn't work and not just for me should actually solve the problem before sending emails. Not Happy
If you have more than one Boarding pass, the app defaults to the first one. This happens even if your phone goes to sleep or you move from one app back to WJ app. Always goes back to the first one. Would also be good if Boarding passes were automatically removed after flight.
App never refreshes. Always say can't connect to westjet services. Won't display my departure info or boarding pass. Had to have one printed at the airport. That's a big FAIL. Seems like other users have had similar problems for months. Yes, I'm already on the April 13 2022 version. These are basic info that you can't provide. So many other usage issue as well. That's embarrassing for you. You should rewrite from scratch and don't use silly outsourced devs who never flies.
Struggles to do basic functions without hiccups. To be fair to it, it has more up to date information than westjet's own staff regarding covid requirements. Checking in didn't work on both outgoing and return, covid vaccine info wouldn't upload. Wouldn't recommend having to rely on it for travel
Waste of memory space. The app (or even the website) wont allow you to check or do anything useful. Even after you have checked in at the airport, you can download the boarding passes.
Almost 3 months later. Won't let me connect to my profile. I have Uninstalled and reinstalled for three days. A week I haven't been able to login into my rewards. Why do you have an app if it won't work properly. Uninstalled. Tried again. Still won't load the app at all now. So annoyed as a Gold status member.
Doesn't work with Samsung android tablets. Please fix, we have huge screens and we want to use them. You play any media and it will roll the ad but not transition to the movie. Works fine on a Samsung phone using the same OS. Samsung galaxy tab s6 lite.
This app doesn't allow basic modifications of trips. It's almost entirely useless. Westjet will make every action end with, call an agent... And then agents are unavailable or weeks out. It's as if their strategy is to avoid customer contact.
I can't log in to my account on the app. Every time I try (I've tried on 3 different phones and numerous internet networks) I get an error saying it can't connect to the WestJet service at this time. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but nothing changes. I use the app mostly to check my WestJet dollar balance so this is very frustrating.
Would not start up, getting stuck at the logo loading screen. Was able to fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling but if I had waited until on the plane to try it would have been too late.
Constant, repeat notifications that my boarding pass is ready. Dismissed the notification, only to have it reappear time and time again. Very frustrating.
Can't sign in, can't add trips. When click sign in, it says 'service not available'. Somehow it knows who I am from Google I guess, my name is on the home page and rewards id, but I can't add trip that is booked, just get white screen and swirling circle until I give up.
Constant reminders that I can download my boarding pass, from the time of check in, till well beyond when the flight has landed, with no way to turn them off. They can be acknowledged and postponed but reoccur.
Update on original post from 01/21...your app is still garbage...still couldn't check in this morning on my Samsung Galaxy 21 phone and had to on my galaxy tablet...says unable to connect to westjet services....and yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it didn't change anything
It's OK, not great, often glitches as the worst times. My advise is to take a screenshot of your boarding pass and use it from the pic, not the app because if the app doesn't load, your hooped
useless. 1. no conection between mobile app and desktop account. you can check-in at desktop and you will not see it at app. 2. At airport didnt work so I had to go to regular chcek in. maybe after 5 years it will work. one big disapointment.
This app is no longer working on Android. It won't update, provide up to date information or work generally. Very frustrating.
I like so many others cannot get this app to work on their android phone, despite it having worked in the past. I have uninstalled, re-installed, powered down, powered up - many times and just the logo shows up. Westjet - get this fixed!!!!
I was having issues with an error message appearing at the top of my trips screen saying it was unable to update, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall. Now the app won't load at all, it just sits on a white screen with the logo. I sure hope this is fixed before my next trip!
Pretty much always get "WestJet service is not available at this time..." message. App is seriously broken. So is the usual website. Booked 4 flights and then it wouldn't let me book any more. Suggested I try the app - well that doesn't help when it can't connect to its own service. App used to work great.
This app used to work fine, not sure if anyone are West jet is listening, but it full on does not work. Nice shot of the logo and that is as far as I get. Have uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing.
I used to enjoy the app but it suddenly stopped working. I just get a 'we are unable to connect to the west jet service at this time'. I've Uninstalled and installed it multiple times but doesn't help.
Just downloaded the lateset version of your app on my new S22Ultra and I can not load any trips. The app crashes and my phone tells me there is a bug in the app. Please have your contractor repair the app, it has been like this for more than a year now. You will lose customers, all of us who use Android are getting sick and tired of getting laughed at by Apple users because this app has always worked fine on their OS. Shame on you for treating your customers this way!
Works on my tablet not on my S8 and not on my computer. So if I don't have the latest and greatest phone or tablet im locked out of the service. Thats not right. If thats the case then there should be a reduction in cost.
This app is not compatable with LG tablet phones ...particularly the LG V552. The Playstore will not download it. No problem with Air Canada or several other international carriers.
Cannot submit any documents for check in because my ticket says zach and my full name is zachary. Useless app. Just check in when you get to the airport.
The app is slow and does not work. Error screens keep popping up despite having internet connection.
Sure, I can display my boarding pass, which is nice - but I can do the same with a PDF. The in-flight "connect" doesn't work for me... I'm connected to the westjet on-board AP, but nothing in the app works, just give me "connect", loop, rinse, repeat. Not sure why it's not better after all these years. Also, currently on a new Max8, and first announcement was "we have no internet or entertainment available" ... on a NEW $120M+ asset? As long as it flies, I guess that's a win for sure.
