Truly one of the worse apps ever. I got kicked from the chat 3 times, the smart search bar doesn't work, it's hard to find the right option, you always have to confirm with a code. It's a real challenge to change your details. Sorry but this app is very bad

Biometrics log in no longer works. I press to turn on and it takes you to a new card screen. When I sign out I have to enter password and account number everything I log back in. I tried to send feedback on the app but the send button doesn't even work!

There are some very basic features that are still broken. Trying to enable pin or bio to login you are prompted to authenticate. You are shown just 1 password field. When you submit you get a message "no customer I'd entered"

New update looks better aesthetically but is so slow and buggy, even opening the app feels beyond slow. Every button click is slow and there are so many bugs, such as it telling me to sign in over and over again.

This version of the new westpac app looks good, but belongs in beta testing. It takes a solid 3 seconds to open. I don't mind getting used to redesigns, but this is a bit shoddy. I'd like an option to go back. Edit: The app 'opens' with less delay and I appreciate the addition of that because it makes the app feel smoother. However it's still very slow getting to the login

The latest update for the app is absolutely a joke! No longer can sign in, then it tells me that I have been locked out of my account!!! I have been using westpac and this app for nearly the last 20 years. I find this appalling when these days, we should be experiencing this

Used to be OK but the last update has broken it. Will not run. Crashes when you try to view balances or log in! Was working for a while but now I can't lock my card. Works on an iPhone but not android!

Every time I try to deposit a cheque, the app crashes. So frustrating... means I have to find a smart atm which are few and far between or go to a bank which is difficult with the hours I work. Big thumbs down!

Not sure what's happening and why but every time I do something on google, Facebook messenger etc on my Android phone this keeps opening asking me to go to the Google play store. I'm very close to uninstalling the app all together 😔😔😔 Also your developer contact email below is not correct.

The app keeps trying open when it does not need to. E.g. I'm browsing the internet, and the app is suddenly trying to open. It tells me to activate my card, but I already have.

Much improved app. Notifications are odd though. I don't need a notification to say I have just transferred money. I know that I've done it, because I just did it, and I can see on the screen. (Different case with automatic transfers/payments. A notification in these cases are very useful). Likewise with transferring between accounts. I get a notification for the transfer out and then transfer in. 2 unnecessary notifications when the message on the screen is sufficient.

This latest update is the worst. Constantly lagging, sometimes doesn't even load in the end, usually crashes when I open it, so I have to open it a second time. Doesn't let you view recent transactions in the quick menu, you have to sign in now. The colour scheme is terrible too, the old app was easy to view, this new one is too busy and hurts your eyes.

Like many other reviewers, I also dislike the recent upgrade. It is very laggy, when I click on something it takes forever to respond. This is especially annoying when I'm trying to transfer money when I'm at the register, trying to pay for something. I do like the icons of the businesses I've shopped at in the transaction page. But that's about it, unfortunately. Nab has this feature, and I have no issues with their app. Please fix these issues, the new app has been out for months now!

I did contact the mobsupport email you suggest contacting. Explaining the app actually doesn't work properly, it literally doesn't open on Android and when it does it crashes or says your not connected to the internet. This isn't a few bugs issue, this is total re-do or just bring back the other app, that worked well enough and was user friendly. The app doesn't work so stop asking what individual issues are, it's the whole app. It doesn't work. Start again.

Worst update ever. App is lagging, 90% of the time when I try to open app it closes straight away. Doesn't show current up to date balance or transactions. I love the old version it was so much better and easier to navigate never had a problem at all. So very disappointing. Tempted to change banks as that would be easier than using your app.

Definitely not as intuitive as it could be. One of my accounts is just not showing. The transfer money journey with the pop up confirmations is not a very clean presentation on the app, a confirmation screen like the old app presents better. The look is great but doesn't yet seem to have incorporated the best parts of the old app to also have matching great functionality.

Useless. Tried to finish setting up an account, and all I get is "no internet connection", which isn't the case. Then when I try to change my personal details, "we are experiencing technical difficulties". There are the first 2 things I've tried in this app, and both have immediately failed. Doesn't fill me with confidence knowing that these guys are handling my money.

Where's the dark mode in the new app? It's so bright and white, it really is too much. How can an app be released at the end of 2021 with no dark mode? I thought the quick balance was broken until I realised I had to press the arrow, the whole bar use to activate the drop down. Once opened it no longer shows the last few transactions. Can I go back to the old app? It was much better. Updating this to make mention of the constant crashes, normally when first opening the app. More often than not, I have to open the app 2 or 3 times before it'll actually load.

It was never the best app to start with. It missed a lot of the features of most other banks including budgeting options. However this update has taken an ordinary app and made it really unusable. It's slow to load and sometimes wants you to login to reconnect the quick view. It's hard to navigate and the colours were chosen by a 7 year old after to much sugar. Please roll it back or open another banks app and copy theirs.

Wow, what a terrible update. Whoever developed the UI, it's is horrible. Too bright, text too big, icons everywhere in lists of transactions, too busy, not intuitive, a major step backwards. Geez I hate it when companies carry on about great new version of an app and it's a pos, it probably cost many millions to develop, what a waste of money, the old version was heaps better, how do I reinstall it.

Terrible lagging and freezes constantly when scrolling through transactions or just suddenly closes and have to login again. Sometimes I can't even scroll to the date I want and then it jumps back to the most recent transaction. I like the new interface but the app needs more work. Current bugs make it almost impossible to use. Running the app on a Samsung Galaxy Ultra 21 recently updated to One UI 4.0 plus the additional update. Also occurs on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 which is also up-to-date.

Not loving the new app. I have to sign in to see transactions whereas the old app allowed me to see the last 10 if I tapped on the account in quick balance. Really hard to find different things like payees or billers. The only new thing I like is the logos/icons on transaction list means I can quickly identify payments for bills, loan or groceries.

Too big & bright & "in your face" for me. I'd much prefer something fresh, clear & simple. A lot of scrolling going on to find anything in accounts. The filter button in accounts brings up a load of mind boggling bubbles where a simple list would be easier to read. I can't see any improvements in this app. Worse than before. It's so bad I've uninstalled the app & replaced it with a shortcut to the Westpac website which is user friendly.

WORST APP I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I don't usually leave reviews, but this app is beyond unacceptable for a BANK APP. It clearly has ongoing startup issues that cannot be resolved at the user end. After a zillion reinstalls, powering phone off & on, each startup presents a different issue - & usually crashes before it opens. Also agree the colours are too in your face, but I could live with that if only the app would work! What was so wrong with the old app that you had to replace it with this?

Even 1 star is too good for this app upgrade. It freezes and closes more times than it behaves.. has just updated my balance and transactions from 10 days ago.. 10 days!!! There was absolutely no need for any change. The old app never had any lag in performance or balance accuracy, and it's extremely disappointing when you find your balance is suddenly less than you thought because it's not current.. Not surprised to see so many similar reviews. Heed what your customers are saying, Westpac.

Horrible.. why did you change it.? The layout. Harder to read transaction list.. cluttered with too much with info, unnecessary thumbnails.. All too kiddyfied. It's a bank app. Doesn't need to be in your face. Just need to be able to clearly read it. At very least an option to go back to a stripped down basic version would be nice. maybe I'm to old, not the target customer. Time to move the rest of my banking to Bankwest me thinks..

Useless when you really need it. Incredibly slow and unresponsive and that's when it doesn't just stop working and log you out! Fyi I'm currently using a current model Samsung but it was just as bad on my previous iPhones. Several features also disappeared from Westpac online banking and the app over the past few years. The only reason I've remained a Westpac customer for as long as I have is laziness but the latest and least reliable version of this app so far is the last straw.
