When Can I Retire? Retirement Calculator

The Retirement Calculator uses compound interest and several user-provided variables to estimate when you can retire. Retirement is possible when the returns from your investments (after inflation) exceed your expenses. Use this tool to track your progress, see where you are at, and determine which variables you can change in your own life to retire faster!

Annual Income: Your take home pay after taxes annually.

Annual Savings: How much money you save/invest for retirement annually.

Annual Expenses: Annual savings subtracted from income. This figure is used to determine how much money you need to retire.

Annual Savings Rate: Percentage of income that is saved for retirement.

Current Net Worth: Starting point for the retirement calculation.

Annual Return on Investments: Historically, this number is 8% after inflation in the U.S. Stock Market. To be cautious, the default is 7%. Feel free to modify this value based on your asset classes.

Withdrawal Rate: The percentage of your portfolio that will pay for expenses during retirement.
