White Noise sounds similar to static of an analog TV or radio station that has stopped broadcasting. The name is derived from white light, which is what the human eye sees when all the colors that make up the visible light spectrum are combined. Blend a red, green, and blue light together and you'll get white light. You probably have noticed if you're in a brightly lit room filled with white light, it is difficult to see colored lights. That's because those individual colors get masked by surrounding white light. In the same way, white noise has equal energy at all sound frequencies to which humans are sensitive. Other sounds will get masked by white noise so they become less detectable.

Our go-to white noise app. Downloaded in 2014 for my baby and we all use it to this day. Brown and grey noise are our favourites for blocking out noise. We have this app installed on all our devices, and recommend it to others.
Very dependable app with a wide variety of options to help you sleep.
Reliable and very easy to use. White noise starts straight away which is VERY useful when you need it to help calm your baby. Good variety of white noise with ability to add more. The high colour rattle is very useful when baby is fussy or has begun to get themselves worked up. Paid for the non-advert version as it's an app I use a lot of the time. Keep up the good work
I have used this app for more than 10 years and it has never disappointed. I love the newer features, like the timer and clock, and when my brothers were babies they loved the rattle. This app is professional but easy to use effectively. 10/10 would recommend.
I downloaded this when my son was born, used it every night. I love this app. My son is 5 now.....and I still use it....for myself. Lol
PLEASE READ! ISSUE FIXED. I have had this app forever and Love it. But 2 years ago it stopped working like all the reviews are saying. Well pandora started to do the same thing 2 weeks ago so I did a trouble shoot and there is a battery setting in android that was putting Pandora to sleep. On the setting was this app as well. Its not an App issue. In settings search for "background usage limits". Open it and add "+" white noise baby to the category "never sleeping apps". It wont turn anymore.
It is free! But it's so worth that $1 to upgrade! With the free version, you can't open anything else while the white noise app is on. So worth the $1 to be able to play sounds while scrolling on your phone as you wait for baby to settle to sleep. I've had this app since my son was born & using it for my 3rd due soon! I even still use it for my 3 year old when we just need a little white noise to help him nap.
Don't buy full version! This app used to work even when other apps are being used. Their recent update changed that. It says if I purchase the full version, I would then be able to use app at the same time. Nope!!! Still unable to use other app with full version!!
I LOVED THIS APP UNTIL RECENTLY!!! It's constantly stopping if I open another app, even something as simple as the calculator on my phone the sound still goes out and causes all of my kids to wake up. Until the issue is fixed I'll just go back to the baby white noise videos on YouTube
Good until a month ago. I loved this app, used it every night with success. Now it works inconsistently, turns off randomly. I even got the paid version so it could be used in the background, but it's been terrible. Very disappointed
Excellent. Saved my life with both of my children. Can play "forever", with low battery consumption. Many different noises. Also the bouncing balls are a great fun when needed. I have this on all my android devices. Really, really good stuff. Never had the need to look for something else like this.
Had the app for months and it worked perfectly but now it stops and starts or makes the speaker on the tablet crackle and go weird so wakes up our twins which is annoying! Seems to be an ongoing issue they haven't bothered to fix. Opting for another app from now on.
I have used this app for quite some time and I've really liked it until a few days ago. After having it on for about 30 minutes it started making a crackling noise and then the app crashes. This has happened in the middle of the night and woken me up. I downloaded a new app last night instead.

great app, love all the options. only problem is that every time I turn it on it turns on my do not disturb setting, which I then have to turn off in order for the all to play the noise.
This is the most used app on my phone (even more than WhatsApp!) I used this when my eldest daughter was a baby and it immediately relaxed her, easing her tantrums. I kept the app on my phone since and now I use it with my 5 months old baby. I've recommended this app to so many mothers; friends, family, random women on the bus, my optometrist 😂. An absolute essential app for mother and baby. I would honestly give this ten stars if I could! ☺️👍
Great app for helping babies sleep. Used it for all 3 of my children. Love that you can close out of it and use other apps without it shutting off. Also love that it plays continuously without having to start over.

Essential for all new parents - we've been using this app since our baby was born 18 months ago and still use it everyday for white noise to help him sleep. Great features, advice, and range of sounds and music.
Works as advertised, with many sounds to choose from. Personally, the most soothing versions I found for my kids were the Brown Noise and Pink Noise options. The White Noise selection was too high-pitched for me.
Great app. The gray noise sounds just like a waterfall with that deep bass. And the timer stops the app activity so my battery doesn't drain. Puts me right to sleep.
Loads of options. My biggest complaint is that the volume varies between sounds. Some can really fill a room while others aren't audible unless it's very quiet.
Fantastic...until today! Have recommended this app mainly for the fact that it continues in the background whilst using other apps...until today! Not great when settling a grumpy baby as was using it to complete social media marketing and responding to emails. Hope it is sorted soon
Lovely app for white noise. Multiple sounds and songs to choose from, night mode and timer option. My whole family sleeps better. Even when we travel Conch Shell is the sound of our home :)

Been using this app for years to sleep and I still depend on it at home and while traveling. I love that I can bring my white noise with me without having to lug around a fan or any other device besides just my phone! Thank you!! My go-to is conch shell but during the day I love playing the classical songs while I'm reading or the baby is just playing. They are lovely and not distracting at all to have them going in the background.
