White Noise Free

I'm beyond impressed with this. It's clean and has a bigger variety of sounds than other apps. You can combine sounds and either set a timer or use infinite play. I needed white noise, but I've been using the sea (you're on a boat) and ocean (you're on the beach) as my go tos. This isn't a sleep noise app, it's a sound app. And the choices make it great for sleep, background sounds in videos, ambient room sound for gatherings, meditation and visualization, calming animals, etc. 5 stars!

Not too happy about the new sounds with the recent update👎🏼. It would be nice if there's a way to choose between the 2🔛🔄🔀 the old sounds and the newer ones. I myself really liked the sprinkler sound😊! I think you could get rid of the boiling kettle,winter wind,either the fireplace or rain on leaves cause those two pretty much sound the same. Along with creek, forest river 1 and 2, those three pretty much sound the same just a little different speeds,I think you could get rid of at least 1.

Keeps turning off around 3:20am with the recommended battery optimization. First night played from 8:30pm to me waking up at 4:30am. The next night, went to bed at 10 and turned off @3:20, turned it back on and it turned off again at 4. Timer is off. Turning on "do not disturb" during my sleep hours kept the app running all night.

Seriously the best white noise app available, full stop. Make your own custom sounds with an easy to use layout and interface. And best of all, it's free and the ads are not obnoxious. 5 stars.

There isn't a better white noise app. Being able to mix and match sounds is incredible and the ads are non-intrusive, plus there are no in app purchases.

Easy to use, great mix of sounds, very clean design. Does exactly as hoped. Much prefer to similar apps; ads are not intrusive.

Have this on so my baby can sleep at night time, cuts out at least once per night but she's got used to it now and only stirs a little before turning it back on. If this was fixed then I would rate 5 stars.

Simple to use. The ads are not obtrusive at all. And that airplane interior sound is just right.

All options are completely free with no time limit. I tried other apps but they all required a purchase for unlimited options like this. So grateful for this app.

I love the traffic sounds ìn the background but think it would sound better if it was more intermittent but overall it's a brilliant app

I LOVE this app, use it daily at work to focus on writing case notes. Idk if anyone else picks up different sounds in background though. Like in airplane, you can hear a song chorus playing repeatedly in the background around 38 mins and in some other ones there's random things happening in the background as well... but I still love it! No ads, easy on the battery ❤️

Very good app, not intrusive, good quality sounds, don't hear the annoying noise of the loops. The possibility to mix and adapt the volume of each is sound is great. I wish there where more kinds of birds to choose from, and also cicadas, cause I live far from my native southern France and i miss them, perfect sound for a good nap. The adds are not invasive, they don't bother.

This app consistently helps me to fall asleep whilst giving me a range of natural noises to choose from. I really love it and use it at least twice a week. I like the options you can choose. I like the lack of options as well. You can choose a new sound and let it play and it will play for hours, there's no need to select how long you want it to play for.

Apparently a bunch of apps don't know what white noise is. This app does. It's fantastic. I wish I can pay money for it.

If you are trying to get away from this app for it having ads, don't. The only thing it has is a stationary ad on the panel and if you come out it doesn't pop up just to feed you with an ad, so it really is near free, ethically at least. For the sounds themselves, there are a variety of sounds that you could possibly want, and even taking a step further and letting you mix the sounds you'd like. Overall it's a very solid app with a bunch of quirky options at it, give it a try.

I'd give this a higher rating if there were a way to control the play/pause from the notifications bar, since I readily need to have that easy access. But it's louder in my earbuds than many others I've tried, which is great. And the mixing and matching is good. If there's a way in my settings to have easy access to that play/pause button, please let me know.

I use this app at night connected to a Bluetooth speaker, set to rain or thunderstorms and it's absolutely perfect. No annoying ads in the app, great sound selections, good quality sound (at one point it actually was raining while the app was on and I didn't notice because I couldn't tell the difference lol). Highly recommended.

The White noise App has miraculously silenced the mouse/bird/bat in the loft. Setting the timer to 9 hours means its also useful as a silent alarm to tell me when i have slept enough.--- It does its job. But when ive been trying the Mixer options i woke in the night to find it was playing a different sound to what i had selected. And another night i was sure that the "crowd" had started singing! But that could have been a dream.

White Noise Free is a great ad-supported app. It's simple, useful, and does exactly what it should. The ability to blend sounds and play them continuously makes it a jewel. I blend eight sounds to make a very pleasant brown noise background. It would be nice to save "recipes" and be able to experiment and explore with mixings, that's more of a premium feature and not expected in a no-charge version. The mini-volume sliders are difficult to set. A master volume control is needed (not phone vol).

When the previous white noise "sleep" app I paid for decided to shift to a subscription model or get intrusive ads, I immediately uninstalled it. So far, White Noise Free has been a great replacement. It allows for mixing various sounds together, and controlling the individual sounds volume level. I really appreciate this as I like to change things up from time to time. I kinda wish you could save certain sound mixes. This app is supported by ads, but THANKFULLY, the ads are not intrusive. So I have no problem there. On the downside, the app has shut itself off on several occasions. That wakes me up immediately. Update: Nothing seems to overcome this, even the Devs suggestions so that it doesn't go to sleep. It is PURELY random on when it shuts down. I keep a flashlight app running at the same time, so the phone isn't going to sleep and the app is on a "never sleep" list. Sadly, it will stop from time to time (every few weeks or so), sometimes multiple times a night. I knock off a star for that. Bottom line: as long as the Devs don't switch to intrusive ads, I'll continue to use this (mostly) excellent white noise product.

I've tried other white noise generating apps, and this is by far my favorite one. It is simple to use, the sounds are full and loud, and while it doesn't have as many options as some other apps, it has enough to give you variety without being overwhelming. I also love that the background is color customizable (it's a small feature but to me it does make the app more enjoyable to use). The one thing I would like to see is a "favorites" category for us to save our favorite noise combinations. 😌

Great app. It's simple and easy to use. There's a good variety of sounds and both the mixer with independent volume controls and timer are clever, well implemented features. I'm saving an extra star in case separate left/right volume controls ever become available (feature request). I have poor hearing with tinnitus in one ear so when i use headphones and increase the volume to mask the ringing then it's too loud in the other ear. It's very helpful.

It's a good app, does exactly what I need. It plays in the background and doesn't suddenly turn itself off (I've that problem with a few apps). A nifty feature is that the app volume lowers if I put on music or a video and then goes up again automatically when the music or video finishes, so you don't always have to be turning it on and off.
