Whitelines Link

Whitelines Link® is a happy combo of physical and digital notes. You could call it a clever scanner-app that in combination with Whitelines Link® paper makes it super easy to capture, save and share your notes.
Start the app and let it see the full Whitelines Link® paper. The app will automatically detect the page, scan it, correct tilt and enhance the image by removing the background noise to provide you with colorful and sharp notes. By ticking the "quick boxes" on the Whitelines Link® paper you can Quick Share your notes and ideas with friends via e-mail, Dropbox and Evernote. You can also share to all the usual services found on your device.

Whitelines Link® is the analog way to be connected!

Explanation of Android app permissions:
• Camera and flashlight – for scanning Whitelines Link® paper.
• Storage – for saving scanned notes.
• Location – for tagging a scanned note with location information.
• Internet connection – for supporting sharing options to services such as Dropbox and Evernote.

Be aware that the app is not optimized for tablets and requires a back facing high resolution camera with auto focus to function properly.

We appreciate your feedback!

Great idea, bad execution. I understand why the lines are white on gray paper, and it's a great idea, since it allows the app to erase guidelines, however I don't understand why the markers on the corners are also white, since it makes it almost impossible for the app to pick it up unless lighting is perfect. If they could change the notebooks, I'd recommend making the contrast between the markers and the page much higher, and since the app knows where they are it can still erase them with ease

I do not like giving bad reviews, especially when the product is actually good as a whole. However, I specifically bought this for doing scale drafting, so I could then scan and send/print my drawings with ease. The problem lies in the fact that once the page is scanned, it scales everything located in the grid lines to better fit an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper. This completely changes the scale I drew everything in, which completely defeats the purpose of drawing in that scale to begin with.

I love the concept of this app. It really makes it incredibly fast and easy to convert anything handwritten to a smooth digital format. However, just recently after a big update, the app has started bugging out to the point where I can't even use it for what it's ment for. Every time I try using it, it forces me back to my homescreen. For every picture I take I must forcibly re-enter the app several times. I hope it is fixed so I can submit my written assignments for my studies again soon.

Just switched to a new phone and my pages and settings are gone. No way I can figure out to backup. Will keep investigating. I didn't lose anything important, but can imagine this being a tremendous problem. I'm using the Leuchtturm notebook. If I write the date atop the page, the app cuts off the top half of those letters. Weird. No way to change that. Capture works well otherwise, though there are gradations across the page, which could be better.

although I haven't used this notebook, it seems like it provides good quality paper that's easy on the eyes and is perfect for notetaking and reviewing the notes taken no matter the subject !! the app however, could be better due to the fact that maybe it could have some upgrades like edits we could make on the notes after we scan them on our phones ? Anyway, I really hope for some fun updates !!

Great organization and sharing options. Ironically, its actually scanning ability is only about 3/4 reliable. The notebook is top notch and ideal for phone-scanning, but I can use any mobile scanning app for that and frequently find that other apps can scan it better than this one. I highly recommend Whitelines notebook, but not the app itself.

Always hangs up on the second picture. Trying to compile my notes, but whenever I add more than one picture it consistently "freezes" and can't add a second one to the bunch no matter how many times I try. The app could be less frustrating if it didn't have to force my to retake ALL pictures whenever one fails or freezes up. So disappointed seeing as this app really has some great potential that is ruined by a non-functional camera capture.

Excellent concept, great notebooks with good quality paper. But such a bad app. It collapses 9 out of 10 times I'm touching the screen. Making a scan of a page - screen touch - app slides down. Trying to tap delete icon - app slides down and disappears. It feels like only very precise tap exactly on the ui control works. Anything 1mm right or left collapses the app/slides the app window. Secondly the photo focus is often not right. The app rushes to take a picture before the text gets focus.

This combination of paper and app have made scanning handwritten coursework and turning in online simple and easy. You don't need to have a perfect light source with no shadows, or have the right angle between phone and paper to get things to look right. It is easy to send to Evernote for storage, and easy to export as a pdf for sharing with others. I'm in the US (so 70 gram paper), and have experienced no bleed through with my default pilot g2 pens.

After the recent app update, it is near impossible to navigate the app. I used to be able to use it with ease but the issue is lag; the fact that every other click(touch) leads to the exiting of the app; & the inability to save imagery onto the phone directly. I am a part of the whitelines tribe so I have used the app without issue in many cases but it has been this way a bit and I wish there would be some feedback and change regarding this issue. I checked and I qm using the most recent vers.

I love the whitelines app. It is so easy to use when scanning my notes using their notes books. Super handy during the exam period when you want to revise on the go rather than carrying around all your notebooks. The only downside is that it does not pick up certain colours such as light/pale colours when it scans your notes, often making them very hard to read. Other than that issue I would highly recommend the app to anyone if they purchase a whitelines notebook.

Has a very hard time finding the qr codes on the corner of the paper, making it useless. If an app only has auto capture, then it needs to do that well. I have a fantastic camera on my phone, so that isn't the problem. Other apps like camscanner or office lens make you crop to the edges, but that is currentl a lot faster than waiting for the app to see the qr codes. I am also not a fan of the organization method in the app. Doesn't offer subfolders which are a must for hw.

The papers really nice to use and the scanning makes a useful system for class notes so I don't have to bring a huge stack every lesson as they're on my phone. However the app could use some work.. It sometimes takes a few tries to scan and occasionally won't scan at all - I've used the similar app for the rocketbook which I find much more effective but I like that you don't have to use erasable pens for the whitelines paper.

Inconsistent. Sometimes works beautifully and instantly captures, scales, and aligns my notes. Sometimes it struggles to recognize the paper even when all four corners are uncovered. Sometimes it's picky about the lighting and lately it hasn't been picking up the pencil writing I've been using leaving my notes looking blotchy.

still requires getting used to aligning and making the app scan the pages, but I really love this. the update seems good too. 1 star less for my lack of skills to capture pages perfectly but also for something that I'd hope would get an upgrade (that I cant seem to remember what it was. I'll edit once I figure it out)

This app is what all study enthusiasts need! I love it and after struggling to find a notebook I fell in live with this! I love making my notes colourful and accessible so having them on my phone is all I wanted. The whitlines is one hundred percent best in all ways digital and non digital and needs more attention! The only problem i have faced is that with my phone the app doesnt pick up some colours. But otherwise I love it 😊🌟.

The software hasn't apparently gained any new features since 2013, even the layout is circa 2015. Whitelines paper is really neat, but Adobe Scan does better tricks with normal paper than Whitelines with special paper. I especially miss easy way of piling scans to folders and then sending them forward as a PDF.

Overall a good app, however, after about 5 uses it started to glitch out. I'd be able to open the app and scan the sheet but once I tried to click the image it would close the app. I would then have to completely shut the app then open it back up to access the photo. So the app works, it scans great but that is a big issue.

The whitelines notebooks themselves are amazing, the grey really makes diagrams and words srand out in comparison to white. The app is useful when I need to look at my notes but can't bring all my notebooks on my commute however, scanning diagrams is tough as the colour saturation and opaqueness isn't as accurate as I would like, but apart from that I don't find too many quams with taking the picture.

I scan one paper an would like to scan the second page. It tells me Dropbox is not installed. The it opens Evernote and saves the first scan there. Which would have been perfect if I wanted to save my unfinished scan in Dropbox or in Evernote if Dropbox would have not been installed. Unfortunately, that's not what I wanted not asked the app to do. Therefore, my conclusion is that this app is garbage.

This app is honestly amazing ive been using it for about a month, if your like me and end up having a super huge and ripped up folder/notebook by the end of the school year from being too scared to throw anything away this app is perfect for keeping all my notes with out needing to actually have my notes i think a cool feature that could later on be added would be if you could share notes with another through the app somehow idk 😂 i noticed to some phones are better to use with the app.

Jas. L. Nov 5, 2020

Pleasantly surprised to have new features. Previously used (and still using) with whitelines A4 and A5; quite chuffed to find out it works with all papers now! Really reliable and have started using it for at my work to convert handsketched drawings to cleaner images/pdf for sharing. The image/pdf share function is really easy to use.

The Evernote integration - one of the features I was most looking forward to - is flawed: not all my notebooks are available via this app, and some of the choices available are not actually notebooks but tags. All the available choices seem to have been randomly picked.

I love the idea of having whitelines instead of blacklines as it really does appeal to the eyes. i can focus more on my word without the black lines distracting me while im doing my work. The app allows me to scan my work which i think its a huge advantage among other notebooks as we would have to scan them separately using another application. This idea overall was really well thought out!

Very very useful to have notes in digital form. I now have only Whitelines notebooks and with the help of this app, I can do revision anywhere. It's the easiest thing to use and it takes only a small amount of time to scan the notebooks. I just simply love it ❤

lau. c. Oct 12, 2018

I personally love this app. I have not had any problems capturing the corners of the paper and my notes are always clean and clear with no lines and conveniently with me on my phone. The only thing i would change is the thickness of the paper. It would be ideal if it were thicker, but i still find it worth the money for me.

Mil. B. May 31, 2019

To be honest, I wasnt really sure if I liked the whitelines app before, but now with the new update, its hands down my most used app! The scan quality is beautiful as well as the interface and the colours come out super vibrant! Definitely reccomend in combination with your whitelines notebooks!

Not sure if it's the new upgrade or my new phone but it just doesn't capture as easily as previously. Aimed at the page to capture. The corners comes on and off and than nothing happens. So frustrating. It was so much easier previously.
