Wi-Fi Utility

Probably does as advertised, automating connection of wifi. App data is bloating, it just crossed 300mb data space used this week after 2 years, and it cannot be cleared without removal via ADB, and it's not really for download from here. If it is logging car wifi hotspots, what exactly is it doing, building a road map? Those hotspots are useless and won't be there 5 seconds later.

This runs without permission and can't be deleted! Connects to insecure WiFi hotspots without permission or notification. This is a security problem. In addition, this is apparntly spyware - I can see it trying to phone home (but I didn't try to analyze the traffic). Don't see ANY reason for the app as Android already handles WiFi correctly (and this does not). Delete immediately!

I can't really see the problem everyone has with this app. The only issue I do have with this app. Is it deeply concerns me if I shut off my WI-FI threw this app, it sure should not turn itself on as I totally agree with others as it is a major SECURITY risk. I too have had the same issue on that point. However, I can see the benefits of it being turned on by myself Only as it saves me on my data usage as I have a fast cable connection. Seems I am home a lot with this COVID-19 Be safe everyone

Poor App, keeps popping up and trying to update when I want to install a new app. It will do it for days all the while blocking any other apps from loading or updating. Still blocking my installs and updates and will not let me choose what I want to do with my phone because every time I try to install either on network data or Wi-Fi it pops up and takes over. Needs to be removed permanently from the system.

I bought my J7 Sky Pro a year ago which had the Utility App already downloaded. I read up on it and learned how I had some control in how the app responds with my phone. I've also read previous reviews to find a lot of them to be negative. I started watching my WiFi closer. Needless to say, the app is not only working fine but has always done so without my even knowing about it! I think we all tend to take things for granted and we're often to quick to criticize!

I'm not exactly clear on why i have this Wi-Fi Utility app on my phone because i don't have Wi-Fi and it never ever connects to any hotspots but i'm constantly getting a message prompting me to open up to Wi-Fi. But i'm not understanding this at all because i can't connect to any of those services that pop up because they all have locks on them and i do not have access to any of their passwords. For me this app is totally useless.

It blocked all my apps from being able to use data. Could only run apps like Google Maps if I had Wi-Fi connection. That doesn't help much when out on the road. Even when I turned off Wi-Fi and said use Data apps still would not work. Uninstalled and things are working again.

this app phish's the users phone number. I believe this is why we receive calls from telemarketers. I don't use wifi but other applications on this phone need things from this app. I learned that the hard way. Can't remove the app because it's built in. Can't disable it because other apps depend on it. Therefore it becomes something I do not like but can not change.

After this Orbit J3, I'll never by another Samsung phone again. The volume suck and S's sound like fingernails down a chalkboard. What's really annoying are all the Samsung apps that you keep turning back on even though I've turned them off several times. I don't want Bixby, I don't want to your crappy voicemail service, and I have no use for your stupid cloud, I use Google. Also what's up with everything being gray with a little darker gray font that you can barely read on the gray background?

My GF and I both had LG phones--w/o this unnecessary and problematic software layer. TF and Straight Talk phones. Straight Talk is managed by TF. Given other probs, I gave her a recent Samsung Orbit phone. Wi-fi kept cutting out. She often wanted to go back to her Rebel 2. Reluctantly, I disabled this app on the Orbit. So far, for some hours now, no Wi-Fi cut-outs.

I am having difficulties getting in the app. The app is trying to send me a text for my verification code . The code is not sending to my account. I believe it is because they are placing a 1 in front of my phone number. It could also be that they are sending to the wrong account. I have two accounts and only one device. Thank you.

The latest update on 10/18/18 seemed to cause more issues with my Samsung Galaxy Luna. Now my phone doesnt even automatically connect to previously signed in wifis when I'm within range. I have to turn it on by tapping the button off ,then on again. Please fix.

Great experience. Really helps provide the customer with the best Wi-Fi optimizing experience. I rarely end up using my data because I am able to rely on my Wi-Fi utility app. It's helped me find reliable wireless connections when I'm out and about. Thank you!

Does nothing, shows a settings page and NOTHING else. No exit, no status, history, or anything. Just DEAD, WORTHLESS, BLACKHOLE, does zip zilch However, can not be used before Activation or whenever NO active cellular connection is possible. One star remains because app locks up without active cellular connection. App shows only White Screen and does not inform you of that requirement. Disable this app for non-cellular usage.

I have Wi-Fi and often can not use it because of this app. It struggles and slows my phone down. I don't need a response to contact customer servive...it will not happen. I just wish this tracking device and junk wasn't on the phone. No I will not contact customer service over seas. Please fix this nobody wants it.

I agree it's useful at times but I'm agreeing with the others when they say its frustrating that the thing pops up on it's own I've disabled it 2 times already and it still turns itself back on. And I get the pop up to turn it on even when wifi isn't around....😤

I had to disable this app, I have wifi only for printer - no internet, but keeps turning on and running my battery down. I like better control of my phone and not having IT decide when to turn on. With it disabled this stupid app posters me it wants permission to turn on. Furthermore why does it need Location? Sounds fishy!

My rating still stands! I will repost because you deleted it. Wi-Fi app is default on my phone but 1 hour from my house it doesn't want to connect and at times doesn't reconnect to a wi-fi signal! It also will turn on on off at times like when I am home.

This built in Wi-Fi utility keeps knocking my Wi-Fi out and switching to another Network which is not as strong as the one that's on and when I can't shut the surge off I have to force stop it at cuz it's built in but it resets itself every time I reset my phone if I boot it where is Samsung boots it once a week it starts the scan again and then goes to a weaker Wi-Fi

I have it on do not automate wifi, yet I still see my wifi turning on randomly. There's no wifi connection that in connected to near, so why would it turn on if it has nothing to connect to. it's very frustrating.

I am SO OVER being asked to turn it on, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I turn my damn screen on. I have wifi, but don't need this app bc I hardly ever go anywhere, and when I do, where I'm at doesn't usually have wifi. And if it does, then I already know and turn my wifi on. Why the hell are people forced to have apps that we don't use, we don't need, or even know what they do, just for it to suck down our battery power??? This is one of the dumbest apps I've ever seen, and it's useless and irritating!!!

This app constantly running without permission when it's turned off it still turns itself back on and starts turning Wi-Fi on when I don't need it if I turn my Wi-Fi off rest assure it'll turn it right back on so I'm constantly getting notifications when I don't need it and it's always draining my battery if I turn it off in settings it turns itself right back on and runs without permission I am so over it

Its not your TracFone people and its nothing that is your fault either. I have a SamsungJ3Orbit and i actually loved it ,to my surprise. Its the Hackers that are using this app along with a string of others(an alarmingly long string) to invade and illegally look and open and send and WHATEVER they want to do, basically. Goto your System and Event logs to see if they are messing with you. Two separate logs kept by your phone so they hate it!!! They change it fast, so get in there quick and look!

I hate this app. It's always turning on by itself when I don't want in on. I am perfectly capable of turning the WiFi on and finding connections myself. Was contacted by developer, but doesn't matter. I still hate this app, and I want it off MY PHONE THAT I PAID FOR!!

I don't even understand this app. I keep getting pop up msgs saying something about managing my phone at my fingertips. I read some of the terms amd agreements but still don't get it. I'm just tired of receiving these msgs several times a day. I turn it off but it turns itself back on and sends me more msgs.

This app is constantly turning on my WiFi when I don't want it on. It restarts itself after I force it off, and I am about to uninstall it. It is a security risk. I do not recommend it.

Terrible keeps popping up, I disabled this a long time ago.. killed my battery too. Just as easy to turn in and off your wifi by yourself without the app taking up storage. Wish I could remove from phone entirely but won't let me.

I totally agree about how I only have mobile data only turned on and don't need wifi. Says a lot more for you then so many on here that does not. Meaning the so called paying out game apps that lie to us in ads before we download them. But that's totally another issue, having nothing do with good people like yourself.🥰

This app is bothersome. It continues to turn on my wifi even when I set it to be off period. That is like being hacked and followed by an auto app. I do not enjoy an app that will not opperat as I choose it to on my service

Honestly ... Even when I turn the settings off it still sits here and connects to wifis ... Like I don't need my phone constantly trying to hook up to every public WiFi hotspot I pass by messing with my signal as I try to send messages and stuff
