I have had 4 Widex aids over the years it has been a wonderful company to deal with. 5 stars for Widex. The app is worthless. A bad idea and poorly executed. It doesn't work as the reviews show. Of all the remote devices for my aids, this is the worst conceptually. A remote must be fast--many sounds are transient that you have to be able control the aids quickly. But the phone is asleep etc. etc. There was the promise of AI to help but that doesn't work. That was a profound disappointment.

This app worked great. 4 days ago it had an update in the play store. Now it doesn't communicate consistently with my hearing aids. When I charge my hearing aids or they die or I turn them off the app will still say they are connected. Once I open the app then it will update and tell me it is not connected. Before I wouldn't have to do that it would do it instantly and immediately. FIX IT!

During the initial fitting with the audiologist, we were immediately able to connect my hearing aids to the phone via Bluetooth. However this app would not connect to the hearing aids, despite multiple tries, reinstalls, etc. I was finally able to get this app to work by conducting a factory reset on my phone, reloading all of my apps 1 by 1. Now that it is working, I like how I can see when the app is connected on the lock screen. Otherwise, still a bit clunky to use.

Have had WIDEX for 2 months. So far so good. Like the adjustments. My issue is the connectivity to my android. The Bluetooth seems to have trouble especially during cloudy days. Not sure why. I have bluetooth enabled also on my pickup truck with no connection issues at all. I reset everything and maybe will make connection. A bit frustrating. Otherwise good product.

I need my Widex hearing aids to connect to my Android phone, and they show "Connected" in the Widex app, but they do NOT, in fact, actually connect to my phone. Also, on the app, I get 3 options: Universal, Music, and Directional Focus, but I don't get to use all of the app functions as shown in the Demo mode. Lastly, my batteries, that were freshly put in the day I got my hearing aids only lasted me about 4 days, a full 3 days shy of the full week I was promised for battery life, and I have taken my hearing aids out and left the battery case open every night. On Saturday, I didn't turn them on and wear them until dinner. Very disappointing, especially when you consider that my insurance paid for the most expensive model of hearing aids available.

Thought this was going to be a good idea. Not so sure anymore. It's very flakey. While I'm using my phone it randomly changes the settings on my aids. Initially thought it was the aids, not so, remove the app and manually control them with no issues. To the developers "get it right" . I Main reason I selected these aids was to be able to connect seamlessly to my android phone. I can't and I have to have a third device just to use the phone for media.

When it works it's a 3 star. Unfortunately, the app often only finds one aid or the other to control hence 2 stars. When it is working, it's only 3 stars as the graphic equalizer band width is too broad to actually fine tune the quality of sound. The Sound Sense feature, modifys the sound experience but could hardly be considered an improvement. It would be better to just give me a multi band equalizer to customize the sound. Fortunately the hearing aid itself provides good sound.

High stakes pros & cons: When the app works, it's life-changing for a hard-of-hearing musician--the ability to create custom profiles for specific instruments and environments is a dream come true. But when you're mid-gig and the app won't connect to your (correctly paired) hearing aids--or when the app deletes all custom profiles, that's a showstopper bug. So we need: 1) the ability to back up and restore custom profiles and 2) a SW button that forces the app to connect to the aids.

Frequently fails and so custom settings are lost. I have downloaded the app three times in two months, it works for a few days but then seems to have trouble connecting to the aids. This means settings I have created (home, office) are not available when needed; eventually I have no choice but to delete the app and download again, therefore back to square one in setting up customised programmes. The hearing aids are great for sound quality but the unreliability of the app is a serious failing.

It keeps saying an app is needed to use this device. Its installed but that same message appears even after uninstalling, and reinstalling. So I have hearing aids that have massive static, and what sounds like loud wind overpowering everything and anything people are say. My hearing loss is severe, 20% hearing in my right and 36% in my left. This helped a bit for a little while. Then I saw they were disconnected. Now it say app needed to use device but I have the app. What a mess, and stress

Good app and all but they should really get a UI designer on board for a revamp. No reason to hide buttons inside menus, or make them small and difficult to tap or require scrolling, especially nowadays with high resolution large screens on most phones. Bring everything to the surface, lose the animated loading screen that serves no purpose, etc. This is a utility app not an entertainment app.

SEE UPDATE BELOW THIS SECTION ------------------------------------------------------------ I can't use this app at all - I am using the Widex Evoke E-F2 model. They paired seamlessly to my phone (Google Pixel 2) but the app says it can't find any hearing aids. Conversely, the rather simplistic app "Widex Tonelink" works just fine. I really wish I could access the tone controls, don't know why that is not available. Also, why is streaming not supported on android? That's ridiculous. --------------------------- EDIT: It's connected now - I saw an other 1-star review that said they had to uninstall and re-install the app to get it to connect - looks like that did the trick for me. I don't know why this is required, but if you have issues, give that a shot. Rebooting, re-pairing over and over did nothing to solve it.

Really am beginning to hate these hearing aids. Just had check up hearing test done and adjusted changes and with that it took 2 of the programs away that I had and on my aids all I can do is switch between the 2 programs that I do have. I cannot assist volume. My aids are connected to Bluetooth to my phone and and it is on but they will not connect to app. Have uninstalled app and reinstalled found right said but not left and they are new batteries. Ggggrrrrrrr. Ugh ugh

I didn't see a big value in the app until I lost one of my hearing aids. Twenty four hours later, after buying a metal detector and using it all over the house and yard where I'd been working I thought about the app and wondered if it could help me find the aid. Sure enough! Great feature.

App crashes a lot on my A8 but it is still quite usable. This app also causes my hearing aids to cycle though their programs for no apparent reason. Blue tooth becomes intermittent in TV mode. I can get Bluetooth tooth to reconnect by cycling the power to my hearing aids. If Bluetooth to my hearing aids keeps on disconnecting, I then cause my A8 to restart

After the update - I am not able to connect Right HA with blue tooth. earlier was Left HA Plus very blend. I don't hear any or much difference when switching different profiles. When is Android going to get streaming to talk Via Bluetooth Doesn't even accurately or even roughly tell you battery level. My machine beeped twice battery Low but on the app shows full & "OK"

App fails to connect to the right hearing aid frequently. Have tried changing batteries, uninstalling and installing the app, turning the aids on and off, etc. with no positive results. How are these "learning" aids supposed to perform at their optimum if they won't connect and stay connected.

Bil. M. Jan 8, 2020

Pretty poor. On the technical side it sometimes fails to connect with one or both aids. Sometimes have to disconnect the bluetooth and establish connections again, thereby losing stored favourites. On the functional side it's ridiculous that you cannot stream with Android version.

Sal. D. Aug 15, 2019

Since the May update the app has become completely unreliable. It no longer finds the hearing aids even when my Pixel XL finds them and pairs them successfully. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. That also no longer works. Why has there been no response to the many complaints nor an ETA for a fix?

Phi. P. Aug 2, 2020

Abilty to create custom programs is nice because Evoke apparently cant solve all hearing problems with one program. I have 2 tv settings, a setting for talking to my wife in a noisy resturant etc. But, if you leave bluetooth on on your Android smart phone the Evokes will randomly emit shrieking feedback sounds which are very loud. So I have to turn off bluetooth to eliminate the random shrieking.

I recently got a widex hearing aid. I chisecit because it's supposed to be able to double as my bluetooth hands free earpiece for my phone. It doesn't do that. I have a samsung note 10+ and the software is only fully compatible with the note 8 according to my audiologist.

Lin. G. Aug 27, 2019

Never stays connected to my phone. What good is it when you can't turn the volume up without disconnecting and reconnecting the bluetooth. It won't ever find my hearing aide, if I were to lose it, cuz it never stays connected!

Jes. B. Oct 27, 2021

Good features, but the app only works for a few weeks before It can no longer connect to my hearing aids. A reinstall works as a temporary fix, but each time I have to recreate my custom stuff. DO Better! I paid a lot!

Hea. G. Apr 22, 2019

As other reviewers have stated, at times I will open the app and find that all settings/programs that I have saved are gone and I have to reprogram the app. This needs to be fixed as having these settings is the primary purpose of this app, and having them disappear repeatedly is completely unacceptable.

Ash. B. Jan 7, 2020

As an Audiologist, I am able to discern that many of the poor ratings of this app are due to improper initial pairings of the hearing devices or Bluetooth being dodgy, rather than the app itself. It ran perfectly 99% of the time on my Samsung Note 8 and I suspect it will also run well on this Pixel 3a XL. Tip to other users: when you pair your hearing aids, rename them with an L for the left and R for the right so that if you need to re-pair in the future, you'll be able to ID which it is!

Not a bad little application. Haven't had the issues others have, however it does lack some useful functionality such as true battery life. The battery icon is always 'full' & 'OK' even when I get 'Low Battery' from the hearing aid.
