WiFi HotSpot

This HotSpot widget will allow you to turn on the portable WiFi hotspot feature on your Android smartphone with a single touch. Improve your mobile experience by easily converting your phone into a WiFi hotspot.
This widget was designed with user experience in mind, therefore design, simplicity and speed is the aim.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AFTER YOU'VE INSTALLED IT:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please note that this is a widget and NOT an application, so you will not see it listed on your application list (app drawer). After you have installed this widget from the Google Play store, you will need to navigate to your widget list in order to place it on your home screen.

NOTE: You will need to configure the phone's hotspot setting before using this widget, if you haven't done so already.

HOW TO CONFIGURE THE HOTSPOT: ----------------------------------------------------------(Android Jelly Bean): Settings->More..->Tethering & portable hotspot->Setup Wi-Fi hotspot

As you can expect, we cannot test this widget on every available Android phone out in the market, so we can guarantee normal functionality only on the devices listed below mostly running on Gingerbread and JellyBean versions. Please do feel free to try this on other devices and give us your feedback if you have any issue so it will help us improve this further and support more devices.

This widget will not work on some HTC handsets because HTC have implemented their hotspot API's slightly different to default android. If you experience problems with this widget on devices not listed above (other than HTC), then please give us a chance to fix the issue by emailing us, instead of giving us a bad review.

I had a hard time finding the hotspot after installing also, but if you HUMAN BEINGS would take your time to read and analysis you will see in the photos that u have to go to "Widget" then hold button to move to your home screen. That's how I figured it out after, all of my frustration.

This would be perfect if it automatically enabled mobile data when switched on and then disabled it when switched off (seeing as, in most instances, there's no use in a hotspot without mobile data). To avoid annoying users who always keep their data connection on or having users unwittingly have their data eaten up when their done, you could have the widget first check to see if mobile data is already enabled. If it was already enabled, leave it on; otherwise switch back off again when finished.

Runs like an absolute dream on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 running Android 5.1.1 ok there is a slight delay from when you press the button to when the Hotspot actually turns on but I'm not bothered and nobody else should be this is amazing free app

When i read the widget had an update for lollipop i assumed that was including the LG brand phones from walmart, being as thats the programing they run. But once again no luck. If you dont go through a major carrier ie sprint, samsung, satin, etc... then keep going. For now. Hopefully someone will make one of these things for the common folk one day. No worries ill keep watch on you guys, your products are good just not for every brand.

On HTC M8. Settings > Personalise> Add apps and widgets> select widgets on drop-down> find hotspot widget and hold down and drag to one of the desktop panels shown at top of the screen. Now you can turn it on and off. Note this widget is simply for turning on and off you WiFi hotspot instead of having to go through your settings each time.

This widget is perfect and exactly what I was looking for. It works just like it's supposed to on my Galaxy Note 4 running Android 4.4 (Kit Kat) on Verizon. From looking through a lot of the other reviews I get the impression that most of the negative reviews are form people who don't understand what it's supposed to do (which is turn on and off the Hot Spot feature that I legitimately pay for and is already built into my phone) or from people who don't know how to find a widget. For what I wanted it for, it's perfect.

I had this widget on my note 4 before lollipop and it worked perfect..after lollipop stopped working..deleted for a few months till today and saw that 5.0 support was here..but still does nothing when clicked, color changes when i go into settings and turn it on so it is getting info saying wheather the hotspot is on or not but its not changing it like it used to..please fix!! I hate going through 4+ steps to do something that should be built into the notification bar right next to the bluetooth toggle..

I have been using widget for years on 3 different phones. Samsung Galaxy 6 did an update yesterday and now widget wont work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and still wont work. Either samsung, sprint, and app creator's. Either way hope it can be fixed so i can change to 5 stars

This is the only widget I've found that correctly shows the hotspot as turned on or off, but the toggle does not work (you still have to goto settings to turn it on/off). Really wish I could find a widget that works for this.

For my LG phone, there's no option for hotspot or tethering in system settings, and the widget never changes from red. If there's something I'm doing wrong I would like to know bc I really need this to work.

I have a Samsung Galaxy s6, and it didn't do anything. My hot spot was on, it didn't turn it off- I had to go into settings to turn it off. Then I tried turning it on, and it doesn't work. Restarted my phone, to no avail. I will not be reinstalling since it uses up data that I would rather use on something else.

This is for a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Used to work flawlessly; now pressing it on my home screen does nothing. To be fair, competing hotspot widgets I had used successfully also don't work now

Works great on my gsm cricket samsung galaxy s5 sm-g900az running lolipop my only concern is the size of t he widget is big and it takes almost as long to activate as it does to long press and drag the widget I have accidentally moved it twice just glad to have tethering back since two updates ago it was removed from settings first time users should acess settings by first pushing the widget then go to notifications pull down

Doesn't work on Samsung galaxy Note 4. Have no other devices to test it on so can only go off me experience

I used it on my note 2, looked really sleek and works well. On my new Galaxy S8+ the widget doesn't line up with my other icons. It works fine but it bothers me too much and I can't use it.

All I've heard is good stuff about this app and it's probably good it's a widget so anyone who says that it doesn't show up after installed because the widget also I can't get it to work every single time I tap on it it just blinks and then it's done I don't know what to do

No clicks,( no touchable) but when I start hotspot thru other app it changes the color to blue and when I stop hotspot thru other app it changes icon to red.

no way to change settings that I can find... developer email address given below is bogus

Hen. R. Aug 7, 2015

Turns wifi off that is all. When I manually enable it, the widget shows blue. If I manually disable it, the widget shows red. But the widget itself does not want to do the task. I have a Samsung S5 running Andoid 5.0 (AT&T). Promising though

Stopped working for me. The widget keeps disappearing from the desktop, as well as inside the widget selection list. Phone just losses where the widget is located and you cannot re-add it back.

I have a galaxy s4 and so far every app for a hot spot I have tried has fallen it has always said not supported.

Sau. M. Apr 17, 2015

tried it on my galaxy 5s. worked for a few days then stopped. tried reinstalling etc. It only works if i have recently gone in and started it manually through the menus recently.

This widget works well on my Samsung Galaxy S5 for enabling the hotspot. However, when using it to turn OFF the hotspot it fails to re-enable WiFi and I have to manually switch on WiFi.

Ash. H. May 25, 2015

After upgrading to Lolipop 5.0, it stopped working on the Galaxy Note 3. Too bad because it was a nice widget. Now it just disconnects my wifi but doesn't turn on tethering. But when it used to work, it was a great widget with a simple operation.

I was bored and couldn't sleep one night so I read through many of the reviews here. People are giving this widget a one star review when they have no clue as to what this is. Learn to read, and then read the description.

Dan. G. May 21, 2016

Installed and put widget on home screen per instructions. I also setup the hotspot config as directed. Pressed the newly added widget on home screen and nothing.

Works great. And thanks for not needing access to unnecessary info such as photos contacts etcetera. 5 stars all day.
