All it does is open the system's hotspot in the settings and turns it on. It's not like Foxfi or pdaNet where it's a separate entity that goes through as regular data. It still uses the data cap for your hotspot. It just quite literally an app with ads on it that turns on a setting you can do yourself. Useless.
Holy s*** this app does work for me I have Verizon grandfather unlimited data plan from 2010. I never paid $30 for the hotspot add-on BS. I was able to use hotspot with my Galaxy S6 rooted to bypass Verizon subscription back then. but now I could use hotspot with my S21 unlimited 4G and 5G no restriction no more PDAnet and FoxFi. Keep up the good work Dev. 5/5
This app completely solved a problem I was having for maybe at least two weeks; somehow this app properly triggered the mobile Hotspot in the particular way I needed it to, oddly better than the standard in-device way. Thanks developers; you have made this new phone purchase all the more worth it.
So, it's the only one that works, but I need to see who's connected to my hotspot (the phone settings don't say connected devices on Android 10)
I paid for the app. I connected to my laptop and it connected but it says no internet. It never even gave me the option to type in a password. I want this fixed or my money back please.
So for all the people saying it doesn't work, you have to pay the 2.99 to get rid of the ads and after that it does work. Also, Verizon prevented me from being able to turn my hotspot on, so this basically enables your disabled hotspot, making it so you don't have to pay for it. It does work.
!!DO NOT DOWNLOAD!! The app only tell people HOW to connect and setup your hotspot. Doesn't have any custom code what-so-ever except for it to put advertising on your screen. The app opens your network settings. -Look for the gear โ๏ธ icon on your phone, and tap the "network" or "connection" option usually near the top of the list and that is where your hotspot and wifi settings are. -If this helped rate my comment helpful. ๐๐
it works just fine up until actually connecting to the network from another device. my laptop connected, but nothing would load. the network showed up on my laptop's wi-fi settings, which is definitely more than i thought it would do. but it was utterly useless from that point on.
I am still getting the ads I have paid for no ads. this is truly getting on my nerves I am about to delete this app and file a complaint
Don't work. Very disappointed. Uninstalling. Update: I tried this app again because of another hotspot app saying I need to configure my hotspot on my phone. Well no devices were in the device list. So I clicked on the ? in the corner. Now why the heck would I have to pay for a data bundle when I already have data on my phone for my hotspot? Uninstalling again. Went up to 3 stars because it probably would work if you want to pay for the data bundle.
I am not re-rating as five-stars because this app is a lie and completely unnecessary. PdaNet is independent. It doesn't need outside apps or rooting to run. For this app to work, it forced me to go to my phone's default settings and enable hotspotting--which is a paid service through my provider, rendering the need for this app unnecessary again. If I wanted to pay and go through my provider anyway, I would not be looking for outside apps. This is a completely useless excuse for coding.
I tested this app and it uses your service provider's mobile hotspot data. The Start button on this app does the exact same thing as using your phone's Mobile Hotspot from the Quick Panel on the Status Bar without the extra steps of loading another app.
For inept who can not got to settings Network Settings on there own... That all this app does is OPEN your Network Settings PLUS adds ads. Do it yourself! 1 go to setting, select network 2 setup hotspot with password or turn off password and assure hide network is not checked. 3 turn on hotspot. 4 go to computer or device and look for phone under wifi connections.
Works Incredibly Well On My AT&T Unlimited, No Slow Down Plan. I Will Buy Whatever They Are Selling In The Near Future! Very, Very, Impressed!!!
Works great. Better than the native app on Pixel.
Like others have said, since the recent Nov '2021 changes, the app no longer works. It's stuck on the "Start" button and actually prevents WiFi connection. How bad is that? Uninstalling.
This app doesn't do anything. All it does is take you to your own device's mobile hotspot page (settings > network & internet > mobile hotspot). All this app does is take you to that page but it shows you ads. Litteraly useless. The developers of course know this but they want money from ads so they put on a show and respond to 1 star reviews to pretend that they care. Poor ethics.
This is the stupidest app I have ever seen. All it does is spam you with ads, asks for a rating , then transfers you to your phone settings to toggle the wifi through the phone. Useless.
Amazing app, especially if you're hotspot is disabled. :D
It should be named data hotspot not wifi hotspot doesn't work as wifi tethering..
Hotspot is inoperable no connection to chromecast and the Samsung internet connection is the only thing that works with my android phone ,hard app to navigate many hours of disappointing pecking the keypad,
It is good for everyone to be useful in our lives and the other side of people it gives intelligent
Not good do not waist your money unless you want to donate to them because you won't get wifi or a refund. I couldn't even get in contact with them. I paid for a year before I got a chance to see if it worked. It did not. I deleted the app.
Name it data hotspot because thats what it is and it crashes on start
Doesn't seem as professional and also doesn't work... then again I suppose it would if my phone company allowed it. I just wanted people to know that this one won't do anything the others don't do. It does claim to be able to share your internet via Bluetooth but this did not seem to be supported by my laptop....
The best I've used yet, though weak on my chromebook for watching movies. Love this app. Big THANKS! UPDATE: this actually stopped working about a week ago. Not sure what you meant with the reply.
Genuinely surprised to see that this app worked and that it was fairly easy to set up a Hotspot(for me at least, your mileage may vary), minus 1 star for the abundance of advertisements, but, a small price to pay. Definitely reccomend if your cellular plan doesn't support hotspots(mine didn't), in conclusion, it works.
