Tethering, or Phone-as-Modem (PAM), is the sharing of a mobile device's internet connection with other wirelessly connected computers. Connection of a mobile phone or tablet computer with other devices can be done over wireless LAN (Wi-Fi).
When tethering is done over WLAN, the feature may be branded as a mobile hotspot, which allows the smartphone to serve as a portable router; mobile hotspots may be protected by a password. The Internet-connected mobile device can act as a portable wireless access point and router for devices connected to it.

My phone doesn't usually use Wi-Fi and I downloaded this app opened it turned it on went back to my regular settings and then the switch finally let me turn it on and Wala! It worked I'm able to hotspot now from my cheap Alcatel phone thank you so much this app actually works
App works as it should. However, being able to make your own SSID would be helpful. 5 stars if that can be done. Having to put info in each time...ugh
The widget opens the hotspot toggle in settings. Says hotspot might not be supported. Useless.
works but gives a different ssid and password each time you turn it on. no way to set a one time ssid/pad. 2 stars
Does NOT do what is advertised. as usual with these types of apps. nothing but Wi-Fi theater to make you think it's doing what it's supposed to do. when it's not!
Replaces my previous hotspot app with a similar name. Not as good due to adverts. But at least it works in Android Pie, unlike the other one.
Would be nice if it switched the hotspot on rather than just taking you to the settings to switch it on.
stopped working. says "this version of Android may not support mobile data"... really? it sure does...
Doesn't really work. It will turn on the hotspot, but won't turn it off.

The app works but generates its own SSID and password. Also the little icon on the top of the screen does not show up so I didn't realize it was working until I checked my network connection. I wish it would just use my current SSID and password or at least let me keep it the same everytime since it seems to change with every activation.+4 stars because it does work. - 1 star because of settings.
