Wifi Strongest signal
You can see a full description of what this app does in the description of the "Wifi Roaming Fix" app. This is a new improved app called "Wifi Roaming Fix", which we recommend you try first as it is more efficient than this one. (In a network of multiple APs set to the same SSID, this app selects the strongest AP).
This app does not switch between networks that have a different SSID, because this is not allowed for in the wifi roaming specifications.

Works great on S10 with Android 9. Thank you Heleron. The app is a bit quirky in that it states "unknown ssid" in the notification bar but the app switches my phone between the router, mesh extenders and an AP perfectly. No setup or settings the app just works. Keeping me on the strongest signal at all times (all kit is Netgear Nighthawk - RAX200, R7000, EX8000, waiting for EAX80's to arrive). For me this version works where as the Wifi Roaming Fix version does not pick up my network.
The only app that actually does what is supposed to do. Within 30 seconds the app switched to the better signal in my home.

It just chaotically switches between APs, often choosing the one with the weaker signal.

Unrooted Samsung Galaxy S3. You app works perfectly. I tried others and they did not work. Just a few small improvements... can you provide an option to remove the status bar icon please, and also the notification each time the string signal gets picked up. It seems a little un necessary as both ssids must be the same, so no point in displaying the same name. Maybe add these as checkbox options for the user to decide.
Excellent little app that works as expected. So far I've tested this on a Samsung Galaxy S with Android 4.1 and it works fine. Will install and test on an Asus Transformer TF101 with Android 4.0 in a few weeks. If the developer plans to add a settings panel I would suggest: - Allow aliases for the different AP (eg. Upstairs router, downstairs router, etc). - Show the current signal level from each AP - Allow manual-triggering of the automatic switching - Allow manual switching to a different AP - Allow us to set a notification sound when switching AP (ok, this is probably unnecessary)
Finally an app developer with some brains making this type of apps. Other apps would use the SSID, causing chaos with remembered open common name access points when you have a neighbor with a secured one named Linksys or similar or in the vicinity if a secured one, dropping connections for an AP it can't connect to. You deserve more attention than these apps developer. Too bad the crappy ones are prominently placed in Google play. Thank you so much and I will spread the word about your app!!!
The version currently on the play store didn't work for my custom 4.2.2 rom but the beta version does! It's quick, lightweight and seems to know just when to switch my wifi. I'd like to see some cosmetic changes though (dark theme for icon and notification area). Great!
I have two APs overlapping on the same ssid and my note 5 won't drop the weaker signal even when I'm standing next to the other ap. Tried both versions. Stock software works better.

Started off working then it stopped the next day. No settings for this version. Just uninstalled it.
My wifi was testing at faster speeds before I downloaded this garbage app. Dropped my wifi speeds by about 10mbps.
Works amazing. My connection was extremely slow this boosylted it to like 85%faster. In love.
I am a Galaxy Note 4 with Android 5.0.1. It is selecting the lowest Powe signal for me. Looking forward to a fix based on the other reviews. I tried competing apps and they drive me crazy with the constant swapping.
Sorry, i hv uninstalled coz it ddnt increase my signal. Same as usual 2 bars, sometyms, it dissapeared, no signal.
Doesn't work for me. Roaming from the garage to the house is no different. My suggestion would be to add some settings, of some sort. Nothing at all is just that. Something to show signal levels, in color... how does it know when to make a decision to switch? Some messages and prints of something actually happening would be a great start.
