Great plugin. Really useful and easy to use for transferring files to and from basically any other device. All the Totalcmd software is brilliant, especially considering it's free! It does lack one feature for me though, which is the ability to set a password to access the server, for extra security on public WiFi networks. But that's only a minor thing.
I've been using Total Commander for literally decades now and I am always impressed by the software. This plugin, when used with the Android Total Commander app, gives me the ability to transfer files in either direction between my Windows 10 laptop and Android 8 phone using wifi. Although using Wi-Fi Direct was a little temperamental (a Windows issue I've seen before), once I was connected it all worked VERY well. When connecting through an access point I didn't experience any issues at all. I haven't needed or used this to transfer from phone to phone, so I can't comment on how that works. I saw a reviewer say he couldn't push a file from Winodws 10 to his phone. I've done that without any problems, and would mention that there is a checkbox in the control interface for this plugin that needs to be checked to allow receiving files to a SUB-directory (key point there) of the initially shared folder on the phone. Once that is configured properly, I used my browser to navigate to the phone's HTTP (NOT HTTPS!) IP address and into the SUB-directory where the controls to select a file from the Windows 10 computer and upload were then available.
No doubt apps like these are really good. They can be amazing time-savers, doing the job they were developed for remarkably well. But so often they fall short, at least for me they do, because, probably like many others, I lack the knowledge to get most out of them. A basic description of how it works, with perhaps a video link showing ABC steps of setting it up for a novice like me is what's needed. Hope this is useful to developers.
A must have plugin to the must have TotalCommander, but also works as standalone. File transfer, between phones as well from phone to pc, via wifi is so simple to do and very fast, no cloud storare is involved, any WLAN like wireless home network or Android HotSpot is enough. Does NOT show ads, ever. Googles automated review system fails to evaluate correctly..
Sending and receiving files never have been this easy. I often exchange files with my mac and I have not encountered any problems. WebDAF is much much better than FTP since browser now does not support FTP and Finder cannot open FTP properly. The application and transfer rate is pretty fast, especially when using WiFi direct server, and it has tiny footprint.
Great for phone-to-phone wifi, but can't seem to figure out how to connect TotalCmd on Android to TotalCmd on Windows 10. I want to push a file to my phone without cable. Both devices on the same network. Also send via WiFi from TotalCmd Android opened on Windows 10 Chrome gives too many redirects when navigating into a folder.
Another great add-on for Total Comander. Also easy to install and use. Great for transfering files from one android device to another. Give it a try also.
I use it to connect my PC (TotalCmd) and android (wifi transfer) and manage all my files. I copy the images or downloads around. Over wifi is super easy and fast to use. Thank you Ghisler, your apps are great !
Transmission starts after holding the file icon then choose "send+open with"; then it opens. But only a temporary file which is deleted after closing...how can one permanetly keep the tramnsmitted file? Not a temporary file? (Tried copying it elsewhere,no success)
Totally impressed with this app and all the other app services that work witn total commander. Thank you all for your generosity and sacrifices. I am so humbled by these developers kindness and support for users like me who rely on privacy and free programs to make the best of this journey known as life.
I see no way to start WebDAV server on phone, to allow browser on my pc to upload (or download) files to (or from) the phone. The description in Play Store says the plugin creates a local WebDAV server but I don't see anything about the server in the plugin app. The app only mentions receiving files as a client, not as a server. I'm sorry to have to give a low rating, because I like the TotalCmd app.
I use it to send files over wifi direct, and it works very smoothly. I really appreciate this plugin.
God bless people who do such apps. Spent an hour looking for an app to share files directly between my pixel and laptop this one was the only that really helped.
Oh I love it. Incredibly useful, especially since good old WiFi Direct was """upgraded""" to Nearby Share in newer Android versions.
Very trustworthy and effective lightweight app for sending files remotely. Unlike bloated ShareIt, this app doesn't download Internet videos without your consent.
Quite useful and fast option for transferring files between two devices.
Works great! Integration with TC could improve: now I had to add a custom commamd button to my TC toolbar.
Best ap on playstore for files transfer , very simple and small app💛
Asks to scan QR code or enter URL? Where do I get that from? This does not create a hotspot and web server on the Android device to transfer files with.
Very handy app especially when you transfer big files from your phone to your pc often.
I've installed TC and several of its plugins even in mobile units running GingerBread. I love it!
Really useful! Using total commander for 20 years. Cheers for 20 more!
Nice app but you have to explicitly give it all the rights then only it will work will not ask for rights needed
File and Folder sharing not working with the latest version on Redmi Note 8 Pro
Best way to transfer files and text between phones
defective..does not work. says connection refused after qr code scan
always connection refused, already turned off firewall. only work once
Awesome plugin for transferring files offline.
Best file commander out there pc version is better ofc but this hangs in there close after 5/5 Stars
Total Commander and its plugins absolutely free. They are one of the most functional and at the same time principally altruistic software. They give you everything and want nothing in return. Functionally, they are so amazingly versatile, reliable, and comprehensive that they eliminate the need for multiple, perhaps a dozen apps that cost a lot of money, hog your phone's memory and bombard you with ads. They also keep updating, improving, and show genuine care for the users. 100 stars for you.
