Release notes: https://github.com/wiglenet/wigle-wifi-wardriving/blob/master/TODO

For wifi and cell towers to be mapped, you must wait for your device to determine the current location, via GPS or Network-location.

If you have trouble logging in, or have suggestions, send us an email to [email protected] and we'll be happy to help out.

Needs "Reads Phone State" in order to tell if a phone call is in progress, to mute the audio (sounds and speech).

Files are available to help with a human translation to non-english languages. This was mostly a mechanical translation, because we obviously don't know all these languages. You can help to improve things by making pull requests at:https://github.com/wiglenet/wigle-wifi-wardrivingor sending to [email protected]

Keep on stumbling.

This is the best and most complete WiFi SSID stumbler for Android platform without buying a separate wifi card for scanning. It's also a way to upload and chart WiFi network names for maps. I love it.. keep up the good work devs.

WiGLE is the state-of-the-art when it comes to War-Driving Apps... but it could be better. The developer has obviously put a lot of effort into the strong set of technical features, website and API. While appreciating all of this, the App currently has a number of usability issues: For example, It's not possible to simply view a list of networks you've previously scanned on your device (Core UX) - one has to go to DB Query and enter '%' wildcard. While scanning, it's also not possible to tap on mapped devices and see details about them (Core UX). Scanned devices also appear multiple times on the map with no apparent attempt to improve accuracy of a position from multiple reads (Core function). Parts of the interface could do with an overhaul, with User Experience in mind. Ease of use and technical features do not need to be mutually exclusive. As a dev. I'm interested in contributing, does the FOSS version feed into this one?

I absolutely love this app! It has everything I need as far as signal availability ,signal origin & for me, the separation comes in the audio option, which announces newly introduced signal & it's characteristical makeup. The latter having a multitude of filters to apply resulting in just about the closest one can achieve in user friendship. This app is definitely "1 of 1" If signal disection is your desire, this is your fulfilment. Avoid complacency! Great job!

Does exactly what it always has. The one stars are mostly from people that dont understand how this app, or triangulation works. It records your position and signal strength of wifi devices it sees. By moving around it takes the change in signal strength and calculates a devices likely distance. It does not magically know where every AP is. Nothing can, thats not how wifi works. Devs dont sweat the dullards, random platform issues aside(ala google), on every device ive used it works perfectly.

The best app of its kind! My only negative feedback is I wish there was a better way to review ones findings from the app or website. The website interface desperately needs an update, it is hard to review ones findings via the website. if you don't care about the site then put something inside the app so we can review past findings easier. Again other than all of that it's a great app.

For some reason my Note 9 with Android 10 automatically starts the app. I'm not starting it and I don't have any automation to start it. It is quite annoying seeing this app running while I'm sitting down and not driving. The autoboot option is unchecked. Even after exiting the app, I'll check my phone and see it running when I pull down the top notifications menu.

Fun to do this. Like seeing how many networks I've collected going to new places and even more interested when I find new ones in places I've been many times. Mostly decided to review to counteract the reviewers that posted negative reviews for no reason but also thought it's about time I said something about this app. Everything is well made in terms of UI. My complaint is only pertaining to the map. Would love to get the darkmode one if possible.

bug: lost gps and erase all data was found in the moment. The old version was much better. --- The settings are not related to the problem. Everything is working correctly but after we say lost gps for a few minutes suddenly everything that he has found so far just happens to 0. That is, loss of data. And something very stupid is done with the bluetooth option, why not detect devices when there is no active gps, that's illogical. Example: I'm in the subway there are thousands of released bluetooth. Do not get me wrong, the app is cool, but after these updates something goes wrong.

Capcha makes it unusable. Spent ten minutes solving their problems with no access, it resets as soon as I try to submit. Googles Capcha is capable of uniquely identifying devices after their recent update and is a considerable security risk to all users. Shame. Great concept.

A decent Wardriver for Wifi, cellular & Bluetooth. I've been running it for the last 24+ hours and it's battery-drain is acceptable to me -- YMMV. I opted to aggregate my data with the WiGLE collective and would recommend the do the same. If you don't, you'll still have an excellent stand-alone wardriver.

This app used to be great, but now it seems to ignore WiFi unless there is GPS signal - yet still finds bluetooth.. App needs changing to allow AP's when no GPS signal - yes I know it wont able to be viewed in maps/DB, but it should at least still appear in the listing, like it does and shows LTE and BT. I'm sure last time I used the app that was how it worked, fix that and you get a 5 star from me again

Good basic app for passive Wardriving. But I have to say it would be a LOT more useful if tapping a SSID on the map opened that in the network view. Instead, it seems I have to switch to the search box and retype the SSID into it.

map updates are slow to nonexistent when in motion, even when other apps (Google Maps, Waze, etc) have no issue updating their maps WiGLE will either take 30+seconds to update the map, if it does at all, compared to Google Maps, Waze, etc taking AT MOST 3 seconds to update once a GPS lock has been achieved

So addictive and a great tool for quickly seeing all the channels being used. ONE feature I would love is being able to copy the MAC adress to clipboard. I also love the wifi overtime chart on the website. Excellent work.

No adds, love it, well made, just needs a feature to click individual detectected networks as there on top of each other, maybe a list of all detected networks. And a list for bluetooth devices on map. But still my 2nd fav network app

Absolutely beautiful application credit to the developers. Works perfectly and maps from the wigle service seamlessly. I wonder if I is possible to plot all the unassociated or devices sending beacons out for WiFi networks in the area and plotting it to the map also? Not just the aps

Great for the paranoid when you get to know your local towers any new towers mean someone is in trouble! Would be good if it could use the phones network neghbour capabililities to pick up on nearbye hansets that dont have wifi or bluetooth switched on but still 5. Stars!

Ale. S. Jul 1, 2020

Does what it says just fine. I used it and learned there's a lot networks my phone interacts with all the time. The map feature is functional and helpful too.

PUBLIC APP COMMENT: I have tested this app & have installed it on all of my devices. I use only ad-free apps as I dispite the disruptive user experience caused by ads. My recommendation is based upon the Pro app version if applicable. Kind regards, Bob, Kansas City, USA _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ [NTS, Note To Self - This is one of my preferred apps in this category. I always use the ad-free version of apps & the Pro version is included in my Family Library.]

I am a targeted person. Another targeted person said they were able to use wigle to log and document repeat offenders with the gangstalking. Is that really possible OR HAVE I JUST BEEN HOAXED AGAIN?

Tom. E. V. Apr 8, 2021

It didn't work. I couldn't see any SSID data on the map. UPDATE: I had the GPS enabled and approved the permission for the app to use it. I saw the list of SSID of my building.

A nice app. The interface is dated, it was good back in the days of Android 4.4. It also eats a lot of battery, although there is probably no other way without employing programmers that know how to optimize stuff. The developer reminds me that the OSS crowd is also the most unpleasant.

Tim. S. Jun 13, 2019

excellent app. the only thing that would make it better would be USB & or bluetooth GPS support, allowing other devices to use the gps as a com port or similar.

Bluetooth scanning doesn't work on Huawei Ascend XT² (Android 8) but everything else does. Picked up 300 new networks and 6 new cell towers as of writing, and that's just today's catalog!

bla. m. Sep 20, 2021

No maps :o( On pressing the map Icon I get. "No Google Maps in this free and open source FOSS Version. Which has no closed source libraries." Great app. But where do I get on with the maps? Many thanks!

Still works like a charm although if you upgraded to Android 10, you can disable the new Wi-Fi throttling 'feature' by enabling developer settings and turning off Wi-Fi scan throttling under the Networking section.
