WikiCamps makes it incredibly easy to find sites. Simply bring up the site list to see sites nearest to your current location, or use the map screen to see exactly where they are on a street or satellite map.Then tap a site to bring up its details page. The site details page shows icons representing features the site has to offer, such as toilets, showers, power, pet friendly, and so many more! It also shows the name, address, contact details, a user rating, user reviews, prices, photos and even a handy 7 day weather forecast.
You can also use the site filters to narrow down your results and only show sites relative to your needs. Eg. Must have toilets, must be pet friendly, has power available, etc.

Used Wikicamps in Australia and loved it! Wikicamps NZ is not as good in that there is not as much activity review wise which can be frustrating, obviously not the developers fault though.
Great app, easy to use and full of useful info. Even better is the customer service! They are incredibly helpful and responsive by email. I recently had issues loading the app onto my new phone and they troubleshooted it very quickly. Highly recommend this app for such a tiny investment!
Used the premium version for my 2 months NZ road trip. Helped us save tons of money because it can actually show you nearly all free campsites in NZ (CamperMate doesn't). We stayed in free campsites almost every night. Many people leave good reviews of the campsites so you know which ones to avoid! Love the app and it's definitely worth the money!
Oh no, i just upgraded the app and I already regret it. :( Looks little bit cooler but nothing much changed. They are still just icons for camping, point of interest, day use area and etc. ...nothing more? I liked better wikicamps than campermate and we were active and added quite few places but i guess it's time to switch to free and more nicer camperMate:(
Could be a great app, good info but I cannot get the offline map to download..... I have been trying for days but it just doesn't seem to work! Once it said it was downloaded but offline couldn't see any map just points of interest and campsite then it's a guessing game as to where you are! Campermate has wayyyy better offline capability! Please fix this issue and make your offline map available to download
Downloaded and paid 2 days ahead of a trip... but it would not activate. Emailed for support. Another email to support a day later. now 5 days later and no response and still not activated. Very disappointing. Two stars because of previous good experience with WC before mandatory payment.
My most used resource to find camp-grounds and interesting places in NZ. Only improvement I can think of would be to make the off-line map more detailed. (At least half the time I don't get mobile reception)
Not all camping spots included yet. Very reliable and useful app. Just need more people to use and add to it now.
Great way to get information on available camping grounds and importantly some honest feedback back. Could do with an offline system as well.
Used for travelling around NZ. Has most (but not all) camp sites including payed, DOC and freedom. Great for finding water and toilet dump stations, showers etc.
so upset that they've all of a sudden decided you need to pay for it. The information they provide is free on other apps. WikiCamps isn't worth paying for. -10/10 for your new update. What a rip off.
Have found some amazing spots through this app, as well as water/toilets in time of dire need, surprise freedom camps in the middle of the night. $3 is nothing compared to the valuable suggestions this app can give.
looks great so far. I'm going to keep the free version till i use it for real trip, then if it works well I'll be purchasing it. not a bad price..
Wikicamps was a useful app to find free camps in NZ but with a mandatory update I have to pay now. Sorry but I delete and have to use CamperMate now, wich is less practical but free. You can't change your business model without consequences...
Decent app, definitely seems to have the most comprehensive cover for freedom camping sites.
Can't see what this paid for app has to offer over the free ones. If you're going to charge for a service you can otherwise get for free you need to have a compelling offer. Don't see it. Have I missed something here?
Easy to use and filters are great, makes finding what we need really easy.
Please dont add advertisements or subscriptions. Other than that great app. Wiki camps is a travellers best mate😎👌
Very useful and accurate app - just read the comments to get a good picture of the site you are interested in.
Paid app, hopefully no commission from the camp owners. Honest reviews either joy or grief. Many freedom camp sites and also all of DOC huts shown. Very easy to add new sites, with check by WikiCamp to ensure it's allowed to camp.
Best app for traveling with your dog because of the filter settings. Recommended to all!
This is a must have tool when road tripping. Not just camping but handy points of interest too.

Really efficient, used it in Australia and New Zealand. Tried free apps but they had often wrong information and not all camp sites! Would just recommend to have a button that eliminate pricy campsites. Or a possibility to look for your price range. But really good otherwise with sites of interest etc.
