Wildfire Alerts

You'd think an app that has been out for this long and used by so many people could have its major bugs ironed out by now, but no. You still can't upload pictures to posts (that's literally one of the main features of this app), you can't edit your profile picture, and it constantly crashes and lags all the time. Every time they fix one thing they break two more things (I was able to upload pics before). I've used this app both on Android and IOS but it's bad on both, it's like Bethesda owns it.

I like the idea, and the platform structure is well thought, in my opinion. However, what I the app needs some serious debugging. Pressing the search bar causes the app to freeze, I can't set alerts for certain categories because the app crashes, there's a noticeable lag when using the app etc. Overall, Wildfire is an app with 5 star potential, but the user experience is a 2 in need of an overhaul.

Frustrating, I have been having troubles here and there. For example my keyboard not working properly on the app. The keyboard comes up but not the section that contains my in progress comment. Another example is not being able to see pictures or videos while I'm scrolling through the timeline. Lastly due to the new update I can't view anything, all the tabs are blank. I thought this is another bug issue and closed the app. Still occurring so I uninstalled it & vice versa. Didn't help. 🙄

Everything works well, except I keep having this one issue: whenever I try to post a photo or screenshot to my feed/ as a comment, it doesn't post it. If I add a caption to the image and post it, I can see the text but the image never posts. I have the galaxy s10 plus and the app is always up to date, so everything on my end is fine. Please fix this :) Other users have the same issue, so I'm not the only one.

I really like the app! But it's been slowing down this past week or two, and I haven't been able to post videos or photos. I'm on a Samsung phone S9 on most updated software, and Wildfire is up to date as well. Yes I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and deleting the app's cache. Didn't help. The app needs an update again.

Really handy app around our campus, especially for when there's free pizza at one of the buildings, or if there's something sketchy going on around campus. The developer team has been incredibly attentive and open, which makes a really great change from other apps which send you an automated message, or don't respond at all! This is absolutely an app I would recommend for someone new to our campus.

This app has potential but it unfortunately is undergirded with technical problems. It crashes, it's cumbersome to use, gifs don't work properly and is overall just in need of some care. But it does work most of the time to it's credit. The dark mode is also very good.

Although there was a glitch at one point, the person I contacted in order to ask about the glitch was nice and quick to respond. He/She tried hard to fix the glitch so far I am very satisfied with their service in fixing the glitch. The app allows me to talk about my school and connect with students like me. Its a great app that colleges and unviresities should advertise for the student as it gives them free speech and ability to connect with other students like themselves.

I installed the app and made an account after which it automatically logged me into an another person's account and college feed! This is so insane! I of course logged out not to mention, uninstalled the app. But if this happened to my account and someone posted some random stuff through my account I'd be creeped out. 👎 Edit: I thought of giving it one more try and the same thing happened again!

It's okayish but it won't let me add photos anymore. Removed DM messages. I don't use the app much but it is cool to connect with people around you and see what's going on on campus when you might otherwise not know. But overall, not tackled well. Good concept. Bad execution.

Wildfire is really good for campus updates in real time, and it's nifty that a post with enough interaction also gets sent as an email. Official campus emails about emergencies usually take some time before getting sent out, don't include pictures, and often don't include the more smaller scale potential threats. Other than that, it's good for the laughs and memes that pass through, and it just feels like a cool little gathering for the student community. Neat app! 😄🔥

it signed me out and created a different account for me? idk why or what type of bug that is but it's annoying. Update: No other problems with getting logged out, but I had to uninstall. It keeps resetting my notification settings to turn everything on (it's done this at least 5 seperatetimes now). So I get updates for things i don't want to see. Hope these bugs get fixed.

This app need so much work. The way to post doesn't work. I pressed the post button multiple times and nothing happened only to come back and see that the post had posted over 20 times. Then trying to delete the duplicate posts was a hassle. Also having to constantly close the app just to get it to hopefully load. Do better please.

Useful one day out of the year when there's actually news. The rest of the time it's just a twitterfeed of students begging for help in introductory science classes, asking about specific exam dates, complaining about historical figures not being politically correct, or just posting generic cringe. If something happens on campus that is big enough to warrant my attention but not big enough for a single news outlet to cover, I'll download Wildfire again, but there's no reason to stick around.

This app is sort of a cross between Reddit and Yik Yak. It's actually been pretty useful for receiving important alerts about situations on campus. There was recently a glitch in the app, but they were able to fix it promptly. When I reached out to customer support, they were very professional.

Great concept, bad execution. The first time I tried posting something I thought my post didn't go through, so I kept hitting 'post' and ended up spamming the feed with the same thing. The second time I figure I'll hit post once and wait to see if it posted, it still ended up posting multiple times! And I had to repeatedly delete my posts before it would finally delete. Please fix this!

Provides important news quickly. I still suggest improvement for the UI design since it's hard to navigate for many. It's difficult to filter the news into desired categories. Plus the verification code time is short for registration

Downloaded the app and it wouldn't even let me create an account. Crashes every time when I try to open it and even after re-downloading it, I still had the same problem. Completely useless Edit: Re-downloaded app with new update and it still doesn't work.

Despite updates it's still buggy. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times because it will work for a while and then it won't load anything. Also, I just finally gave up because it won't stop sending me phone verification texts. I currently have 57 texts with verification codes

This is perfect for students as it alerts when something big happens and entertains when nothing is happening at all. I found that whatever glitches or problems I had were fixed pretty quickly, and overall it has enhanced my time being a student.

I like the app for the fact that it connects students of a campus. But now I can't use it. I can't scroll, it shuts down after trying to scroll. It feels like a massive lag in response from the app. This has been happening for at least a week I think, maybe a but longer. Update. The lag is gone. Well done Wildfire. Y'all rock!

This app is really helpful in alerting me to events and issues around my college but the glitches really kill it. So many glitches, pics not posting, can't change your profile, crashing, and many more things. If these glitches were fixed it could be a really good app and more widely used.

App- sans glitches- is good. worked fine, but now it just freezes... Update: Even with the update the app opens, freezes, and then force shuts down. After completly uninstalling the app and reinstalling it seems to be working okay.

I personally love this app because it's a really good way to know about campus culture and events that happen around us. Usually people are willing to help out others and give out tips so it's really nice to see. It's also more attractive then Facebook or Twitter or any social media app because of its interface. I already made new friends on the app as well so I highly recommend Wildfire for colleges

I've had this downloaded for half a year and still can't upload images. It also crashes like 25% of the time. Laggy, reloads pages slowly, cant even change profile picture. Only good thing about this app is people on my campus use it so i can be informed.

Like the app, it's just pretty wonky on android. You cant access the messaging portion unless someone else sends you a message first, and its just very slow loading in general. Overall a good app, just needs some more work for android users.

Lots of bugs. For example, I can't change my profile picture by selecting a photo. I reported this bug through the app, but either the devs never received the report or they just never bothered fixing it.
