Overall great experience, but there are some areas for improvements. The app sometimes needs to be closed, and then reopened to connect to one of the pumps. Personally I would like to be notified when pumps are connected and pumping. Currently you have to go to the app and wait until they connect to see pumping. I would recommend an area to write notes after pumping. Sometimes I feed on one side, but pump on both afterwards. It would be nice to have notes there to remember why one is low.
The theory of the app is great, but it's only worked seamlessly for me a few times. Similar to other reviews, my pumps ALWAYS have terriblte connecting to the app and when they do connect, the app either freezes, or just stops tracking. I'm still sticking with my pumps though, but I just wish something as simple as an app want so hard given how much of an advancement the pumps are for breastfeeding.
I know this isn't a problem with the app but I have no other way to express my frustrations! After update to Android 11 my pumps aren't discoverable anymore. It is an issue with the pumps. Customer care is giving me instructions on how to update my iOS, even though I specifically said multiple times I am having issues with Android 11. I was very happy with the pumps until this issue. Very disappointed with the complete disregard for my issue and not even reading my email.
The pump work but the app needs improvement. It take anywhere from 1-3 mins before the app will connect to the pumps via Bluetooth. I would like to see a button or a connection status circle to show me it is trying to connect. Currently the app shows milk pump in ounces only. I would like to see an option to show milliliters. Pump duration would be nice too.
When it works its awesome, but it rarely works. From day one it's constantly losing Bluetooth connection with one or both pumps. I shouldn't have to restart my phone multiple times and force close the app even more times than that, just to know how much I'm pumping. For how much I paid for these pumps I am EXTREMELY disappointed.
the pumps are fine but the app is unreliable and inconsistent. you must keep track of your ounces on your own. the app/pump will shut the pump off saying it's full at 2.5 oz. but I have 4 in there or 3. Or it'll shut off at 2 plus or so ounces for no reason. it makes a waste of a bag when you have more to add and you can't restart etc. I've contact customer service about this and wondered if it was an issue with the new style bags but they keep saying to try and address the crinkle of the bag.
So far I've had the pump for a week. It does what it claims and operating the pump is not difficult if you read the instructions all the way through before using. So far pumps connects each time and volume is fairly accurate except for when I was lying down flat one night to pump. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and connects fine. Does NOT leak at all when lying down pumping (if you latch correctly). I like the history kept in the app but suggests that it stores duration of pump session also.
Frustrating that the app could be so helpful, but like other reviews have said, it does not work well. The help videos are great, but it does not keep good track of amount of milk pumped and session stages.
The app is horrible. It freezes a lot, in the middle of my session it will just go back to my last session and I cant see if I am still producing, it will communicate with only one pump at time. This is extremely frustrating. it's a shame the pump is so expensive and they cant have a decent app since it is the only way you know what is going on during your session. I have friends that will not buy the pump because they see my frustrations with the app while I am pumping.
Lags and is inaccurate. based on everything I'm reading, it sounds like the Android has a long way to go to catch up to parody with the iOS version. after a few software updates my information has been more inaccurate and I just bought the pump. Here's hoping that they actually invest and improve.
Don't even bother with the app. I used my pump ONE TIME and am now unable to use either right or left because the constant blinking light from trying to update. Hard reset does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I called customer service and they were unable to help as well. Nice $500 spent on one pumping session.
I love the willows pumps, they work great. This app though has some flaws. I have to force the app closed to get it to update when i am pumping constantly. It will only stay connected for about 30 seconds. If the bag is not perfectly put into the pump it will not read how much milk has pumped correctly. I love that it saves all the history of when you pumped and how much but i would love to see a daily total column and a function to write a note on each pump session.
When the app actually works, it's great. Unfortunately this is the third time I'm using the pump and already the app isn't working. It didnt register the left side at all even though it was pumping. I then can't change the suction when it doesn't recognize it. It's very frustrating since it was very expensive.
1 Pump is not connecting to the app, can't see when it goes to expression to adjust the level. Recent update rendered 1 pump unusable, constant flashing lights and not able to stop them inorder to pump. Customer service takes weeks to reply, when contacting Willow by phone or email it's the same. They replied to assist in correcting 1 issue I had with the containers not working which resolved that issue. Overall horrible and stressful experience especially with a new baby.
Good app but could use some improvement. It glitches sometimes with the communication with the pumps and doesn't always show accurate measurements. It would be great if you could edit the final amounts if the volumes differ from what the app calculates.
loved my willow and the app for yhe first month i had it. but now the app freezes, doesnt recognize one pump at all and sometimes neither pumps, and closes every time i try to trouble shoot. i have a brand new Android phone. ive talked to technical support twice anf still no luck. i may even switch back to my old pump just because then at least i know its latched and working properly. disappointed because the pumps were very expensive!
Thi first 2 days it worked. After that it would take until the end of the pumping session to load what was pumped. Then it stopped reading the right pump all together. I re-paired the right pumpm and that fixed my problem for a day. Then the left pump did the same thing. Now neither one are showing. Ive re-paired both several times, restarteld my phone, un installed and reinstalled the app. Its junk, the amount of money spent on this pump I should have a working app.
Works 50% of the time. If I'm in a session and the app isn't open beforehand it won't record that session. Sometimes it doesn't even load the app properly. I've also noticed that sometimes it doesn't even record the right measurements.
The pump is amazing but the app never accurately shows how much milk I am getting. For instance it showed 0.5 ounces and I actually pumped 1 ounce! It needs a major overhaul to account for the reusable containers. Seems like the app developers should have considered the reusable containers in the app before willow launched the reusable containers. Haven't tried it with the ridiculously expensive bags yet but maybe they track milk produced correctly.
Not a very good app. takes a VERY long time to connect/see the pumps. Sometimes I'm into 6 minutes of pumping ans then it'll show up on the app. Tried restarting my phone and quitting the app to see if it would help but nothing makes a difference.
unreliable app for an amazing product. the pump is fantastic, but the app doesnt always work. i thought it was because i had an old phone, but i just got a new pixel and am having even more problems than before. for mom's and foe the $500 price tag, this app needs a major update
So, technology as advanced as the pump, but not advanced enough to create an app that will work on all major Android phones?!?! I just spent all of this money on a breast pump only to find that I can't use it to its full potential because I have a Samsung Note 8. It's interesting, I was able to download the Gen 1/2 app despite the Willow website not listing my phone as a compatible device. But the Gen 3 app is non-existent for my phone. For $500, this is some bull (expletive)!
This app needs a ton of work. I stopped using the app due to the level of inaccuracy when I pumped, received error messages, and even connectivity. Now that I have stopped using the app, my pumping experience is so much easier.
Because I'm so thoroughly happy with my Willow pumps, I was tempted to leave at least three stars. But, this is not a review of the pumps and app combined. THE PUMPS GET FIVE STARS BECAUSE THEY'RE WONDERFUL. The app would get zero, if that were an option. I never could link the pumps and the app together, not even with customer service on the phone helping me through the steps and troubleshooting. The app simply doesn't work. But, let me be clear: THE PUMPS ARE AMAZING. Well worth the money $$.
Similar to other users commenting here, I have consistent problems to get the app to connect to pumps to show the status of pumping (I'm using Pixel XL with Android). When I switch on the pumps and begin sessions the app does not detect the pumping is ongoing until few minutes. So I force shut the app every single time I start pumping, and it's quite annoying. I would also love to see the option to measure the milk in ml rather than oz, as now I'm converting it to metric myself outside the app.
Although the app works okay with some minor glitches like freezing during a pump session or not reading the pumps. Willow could had made this app much more robust so that pumping and nursing moms could use it as their go to app. I wish I could track all pumps sessions regardless if i use willow or not. There should be an option for a manual pump session entry, there should be a place to track nursing sessions, and to be able to modify the Willow pumped amount because it isn't always accurate.
I am having trouble connecting the pumps to the app. Everytime i try, it's stuck in the second step. I cant click on next or skip because it won't do anything after that and the 'next' button is not highlighted for me to move forward.
I love being able to track what time I pumped. This was such a problem for me! Being able to track how much is also amazingly awesome! I just wish we could add a credit card to our account for easy access to purchase milk bags from the app.
Great pump but horrible app. With all the data at our fingertips, you'd think there would at least be a total pump per day or some type of graphical display. Paired with such amazing technology, this app is a huge disappointment.
I love the design of the app, but gave it one star because it doesn't really work. I would love to see how much I'm pumping & love that the app is supposed to communicate with me if there's an issue, it's time to stop pumping, suction level, etc. I think the app is incredibly easy to navigate &, luckily, you don't really need to use the app to pump once you get the hang of it. For example, I just pumped over 4oz but the app says I pumped 1.3oz. Super lame.
