WillyWeather delivers the most accurate local weather data from best in class weather providers including the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM). Going beyond the average weather service, we process and fine-tune forecast data to the specific coordinates of over 17,000 Australian locations including all suburbs, towns, beaches, rivers, parks, lakes and islands.
• Weather
- Seven day BoM weather forecasts tailored to each location including min/max temperatures, hourly temperature forecasts and detailed weather descriptions.
• Radar
- Raw BoM radar data, refined, processed and integrated with Google Maps.
• Satellite
- National satellite view, displaying cloud cover for the entire Australian continent integrated with Google Maps.
• Tides
- The most comprehensive tide times system in Australia, bringing together BoM standard port data with offsets from the Australian National Tide Tables and various state based marine agencies. Includes every beach in Australia, and many river systems and inlets.
• Wind
- An amalgamation of the most accurate global wind forecast models gathered from the BoM, NOAA and ECMWF, interpolated to the exact coordinates for each location and vetted against real-time wind observations to deliver the best performing information.
• UV
- Hourly UV index forecasts, including alerts outlining extreme conditions when there is risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure.
• Moon Phases
- Full moon and new moon phases, illumination and rise and set times. Deeply integrated with tidal data.
• Rainfall
- Intuitive visual indication of rainfall probability and intensity for the week ahead, using the latest ACCESS models provided by the BoM.
• Swell
- Swell height, period and direction for each beach in Australia.
• Sunrise/Sunset
- Sunrise and sunset times with first light and last light.

Nice app, an ongoing weather notification would be nice. The daily notification shows temperature unit as Celsius with imperial values even when measurements are set to Fahrenheit. The ability to refresh widgets and pick a refresh interval for the app (30 minutes, 1 hour, etc.) would be fantastic.
My go-to weather app since my last one closed down due to BOM costs. Very happy with the feature set, and one widget issue on someone else's device (potentially not even this app at fault), haven't noticed any bugs. One thing I'd like is the ability to choose light, dark or Auto for map type 1, independent of UI. Auto doesn't seem to change with the time of day, probably due to device set to dark. Could pull from sunrise time for auto? Would still want options; always prefer light maps anyway 😇
Very good app! You can customise the graphs, combine predictions and real-time data to suit your interest.👍 Forecasts have been very accurate (at least for the last few weeks) and the user-friendly interface is a pleasure to use. Cyclone-related information could be earlier and better, however overall this app is excellent!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Has UV, ocean tides, lunar, wind, temp, and much more than others. Really good. Lots of maps, layers, very nice real-time configurable plots. Snappy interaction on my poor LTE data connection is impressive (and essential). I'd give six or seven stars even without hourly zoom-in. At 52MB memory, its the smallest full feature wearther app (+surf+wind+sun+moon app).
WooHoo.... No more ads... As an update to my last review, I was contacted by the developer who quickly sorted out the issue. After just one email, the developer sorted the issue for me & explained quite clearly on what was needing to be done. Basically I had to uninstall then reinstall after they had reversed the transaction. All was sorted & as soon as I paid to once again forego the ads, Willy Weather was working exactly as promised ... So all in all, I am now very happy once again. 👍
Thanks for the response yes it started working again within 30mins of me posting my message. Thanks again. Its great but at the moment (last 24hrs)won't load just keeps coming up with message saying error loading. Sent data report yesterday. Update Feb 2022, 5 star's regarding ads as I don't notice them due to them not interfering with my needs. Frekin awesome app just the tool I need it's all in one tides + weather +moon phase. Great work to all.👍😁😁😁
Edit: I paid to remove ads, but now has advertisements again. Contacted developer. They apologized, issued a refund, said it's fixed for new purchases. Old: So far - GREAT! I instantly liked it, & found it easier & more intuitive to use than ANY other app I've had. Two or three days of using it and I'm still just as much a fan. Right now I deeply hope that developer doesn't "upgrade" features and muck it all up. I think I'll forgo any updates, and try to find and store the APK for this version.
I really love how this app can actually speak to you to alert you when rain is on its way & when it's stopped raining. I also greatly love the ability to look up local tide times.
Mostly happy customer. However I am frustrated that the advanced settings for rain notifications still say they are locked and waiting further update. When will that update happen ? Sooner please.
The only weather app I use now. Always accurate when working out the time of day the rain will come. This is also handy for working out how much rain we should expect.
It is currently 10:47. App hasn't updated conditions since 8:55. We're experiencing dangerously high wind gusts and don't know what's coming!
I really like this weather app and it's my favorite to use. It's pretty accurate most of the time & I like that there's a UV forecast. I do wish the widget didn't glitch so much on my phone's homescreen. Often times the widget doesn't update itself or it reverts to saying the high in my area is going to be 100 degF when it's actually a high of 48 degF lol. If I click the widget to open the full app everything updates and is fine. Having to open the app defeats the purpose of the widget, though.
I use this app for sailing and for skydiving weather work. It does everything I need it to - advanced features allow me to map tide, swell and wind on the same chart up to 5 days ahead and take a screenshot. Perfect for cruising where we have been out of signal for up to a week.
Have been using for years and has been great but the last 12-8 months the quality of the app has dropped off consistently
always helps determine the weather, sunshine, rain, wind, swell and tides are very close if not spot on when looking at the days weather.
All the weather and tide information in one place. Graphs make it easy to assimilate the data. A favourite App used most days. Check the bars at top left for other data sets.
I love WillyWeather. I have used it for years and have never been let down. The graphs have been an essential part of wearher for me for just as l9ng, clear information, easy to use

Great weather info. All the data you could want. One star dedicated because you can customise the data shown on the graph (e.g. to add wind and rain forecast) but this is not saved - the graph on the main page still just shows temperature.
It's a fine app but the notifications for weather alerts are too frequent and there's no option to adjust them outside of adding a new notification. I did have a 5 star review for this app but the lack of customization with notifications and then being overreactive about alerting me ten times per second about the same weather alert brings this down to 3 stars
Perfect. Love the update. So far so good. Edit: Had issue where ad came back when I had paid for the app a while back. I had to clear the cache and data and it was back to no ads again.
Amazing Such a clean easy interface. Have been looking for just this type of app. Installed on my S10 and iPad Pro. Create an account and sync favourite places between devices. Ipad has extra widgets which is good. The pixellated rain radar actually looks better than the one you see on the BOM app. Reasonable once off payment to remove adds. Get this app you won't be disappointed.
