WIN: What I Need – Resources and Services
WIN is free, easy to use, and empowers homeless, abused and resource-insecure youth, families and adults to find services that will help them build an independent life.
Users can search for anything, from food pantries and homeless shelters, to free health services, educational resources and more. More than a directory- WIN users can receive alerts about job fairs and other community events, offer feedback and connect to live assistance hotlines through the “I Need Help Now” page.
In addition to serving homeless, abused and struggling youth, families and adults, WIN (What I Need) is a powerful referral tool that anyone can use to guide others who need help or supportive services.
WIN is currently available in Los Angeles County, CA and Trenton/Mercer County New Jersey.
WITH WIN YOU CAN:
✔ Find job help, homeless shelters, free food pantries, healthcare, crisis support, drop-in centers, legal assistance, education resources, government benefits, public transportation, and more.
✔ Call domestic violence shelters, sex trafficking hotlines, mental health services, crisis and suicide prevention hotlines.
✔ Search for programs that serve your age, gender or region of the county.
✔ Find specialized resources just for veterans, LGBTQ, foster youth, pregnant and/or parenting teens or adults.
✔ View human services near you – they are listed first if your location is on.
✔ Use the map to see where a program is located.
✔ Read detailed information about each program to find the best “fit”
✔ Read or submit comments about user experiences.
✔ Call or email agencies using WIN app live links.
✔ Get directions to chosen agencies.
✔ View real time availability of beds at shelters.
✔ Share the app easily with others.
✔ Read or listen Helpful Info explanations about program or service options.
✔ Search even for services without an internet connection (although some features such as mapping, directions and real-time email are disabled).

This would be an excellent app I can tell by the amount of thought that went into it. I downloaded it first realizing too late that it only serves Trenton NJ area. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because of this. I wish they would've stated that up front on the APP store info page. Very disappointing, I was SO much looking forward to utilizing it. As the user friendly, simple interface appeared awesome. Sorry had to uninstall as it was useless to me due to living in southeast.
This is a great app. To the people docking stars just because it doesn't cover more locations, please don't. This app can't grow if people aren't downloading because of low ratings. This app is great for what it is and an amazing resource for those in LA and Trenton.
I think the concept of this app is amazing and it functions great if you live in LA. It will not benefit anyone living on the east coast or even Midwest. I like the idea and I think its great.
I think this is an excellant app. It has a lot of great resources and narrows it down to different catagaories which is very helpful. I'm from L.A. and it's been a great service for me.

I LIKE THE APP SETUP BUT ITS ONLY GOOD FOR 2 CITIES IN THIS COUNTRY TRENTON NJ & LA, CA. IF YOU CAN MAKE IT GO NATIONWIDE YOU WOULD GET 2 FIVE STARS I KNOW @ LEAST 2 PEOPLE THAT USE THIS APP IF IT GOES NATION WIDE

I read theyd be able to expand with the right, good ratings, so after seeing a lot of compliments/positive reviews for those it is available for I want to add so hopefully they cN eventually expand to las Vegas/henderson NV in the future !:)
This app has played a huge role in finding resources while living out of my car in Los Angeles County since the beginning of the pandemic. My only suggestion would be for there to be a option to narrow down resources based on the day of the week, as not all services are offered daily by every venue. Also please fix the morebutton Yesterday the Maś button was named More and I was able to find showers and bathrooms for the day. Please bring this back asap. Thank you for the most useful app I own.
