Windfinder

This used to be better. With updates it's asking me to join premium, and I was already a premium member. Also, they changed the layout so you don't have days of the week at the top with simple bar graphs for windspeed. Also, as far as I can tell, it doesn't have a precipitation option for map mode...kinda useless. Here's my review of the old design We live in CO, and the wind is always a factor, A+++ to help plan bike rides, or anticipate conditions 👍

I've used this app for quite a while on the free version and it recently changed over that you had to get a subscription in order to see the wind direction indicators so I did that and I paid for the subscription and I still can't get the wind direction indicators even after uninstalling and reinstalling the app

Wind is always reported as direction coming from and your degrees and cardinals do so. However, the arrows point the other way. Causes confusion especially if it were to represent a wind vane. You should mention this difference in your explanation of what your data represents, coming from or going towards, or turn the arrow around.

Best app for boating weather. Shows wave height, period, and direction.

I just recently subscribed to windfinder do far it's been a great app. Being a truck driver hauling over-sized load its very important that I know the wind conditions. Thank you all for designing this awsome app.

Used to be great when they showed which direction the wind is blowing on the interactive map. Now I find the app useless.

Map no longer shows the wind direction. Uninstalled and re-installed. Now it does not open at all.

Search never finds anything so it's nearly impossible to find a local station for wind information. Colors on the map don't match the colors on the legend. Very awkward navigation.

All my life I have been amazed at what my friends tell me they can see. Unfortunately for me my eye sight has never been better than 20/40. Perfect eye sight is 20/20. Believe me 20/40 is a long way from 20/20. With that said your app fails miserably for those of us with less than PERFECT eye sight. We certainly do not live in a perfect world. Please consider enlarging the FONT of the map. The lettering is extremely small and unreadable for those of us less fortunate to have perfect vision.

very good I recommend this app aaa+++ I still think it is still the best as it relates to a weather app I keep a check of. AAA+++ I haven't changed my opinion after three months excellent AAAA++++

Over 20kt advertised so i traveled 500km for it. Then found barely 5kt in one day then almost none for windsurf next day. Uninstalled it

Great app!! Love the alerts but wish you could control how often you get them. (Once you see the alert and remove it, if the condition persists, then you could control when the alert pops up again, once an hour, once every 2 hrs, etc.) I love the ability to see multiple weather conditions, not just the wind! Seems to be pretty accurate. Wish it updated more often, 6 hrs is a long time.

I signed up for this app when still being developed. Recently purchased a new phone and now have no access to widgets and subjected to rolling ads ... Ofcourse it is suggested that I now pay a monthly fee to avoid this issue. Such a pity as I enjoyed the features. Discovered that the licensed version I purchased was sitting behind freeware version once loaded on my new phone. After correcting....all good!

Update does not support the wind direction any more. Did switch to another app. Bye bye !

Great App easy and accurate saves alot of guessing and use it to plan everything outdoors

would have been better if you could go back a week to reference weather patterns and wave patterns

Its my second year with windfinder. 99% of the time its on target. The app Developers are doing a great job. I'm buying into it again this year. This app also works great for scuba divers, it gives us wave heights, wave intervals, per second. Plus Windforce, and Direction. If your developer could figure out the wave swells. Windfinder would be a bigger seller. We use this info for boat diving

nice looking software, but this free version is often too much inacurate (wind speed forecast wrong up to 6m/s, comparing to report or current wind speed). in my opinion, unreliable. edit 04.03.2021.: I tried Pro version that have Superforecast, and that was completely different story. It was absolutely reliable and great wind app for sailing. My previous comment was only regarding Free version.

Took away the best feature does have arrows showing wind direction

The plus supscription price per year is pretty expensive for the small amount of user-orientated add ons compared to the pay-one-time pro app (basically just alert function, which is unnecessary if you check every day - like most surfers do). Also I'm missing the Webcam-function of the pro app. Would be nice to have ** thanks for the Feedback, what about the missing webcam feature? could you provide coastal maps for popular wind spots, some feature to ensure safe surfing - currents, shallows,etc

I would love this app if the Map View & Satellite View showed the wind speed markers (the little fireball things). You can only see those markers when you are on the default view (the blue "map"). The WINDFINDER website does show us the wind speed markers on Map View, so I just use the website...which is free ;) For some reason the app gives us the option for Map or Satellite View but then takes away the wind speed markers. I wouldn't mind paying for the app if they added this feature. Hopeful!!

only app I use for fishing conditions. even days out its pretty accurate

I like everything about this and it's darn near perfect except the white text on the light yellow and light blue backgrounds
