LOVE this so far. I originally downloaded and paid for Zero. There were so many bugs I had to cancel and get a refund. Window turned out to be the best AND cheapest IF app I found after downloading and trying about 6 others. The interface is nice, I love the daily challenges and the journal you have to complete each day (takes literally a minute). This will be my IF app. Going forward. Job well done Windows.
Doesn't seem to consider the possibility that when you install the app, you might already be fasting. I tried editing my fast start time to yesterday but it won't let me, I tried adding a fast to yesterday with finish time of today and I'm now told I've been eating for "minus" 2 hours!? No way to delete problem entries to solve the issue either. Glad I didn't etc as far as paying !
UPDATE: I have changed to 4 stars instead of 5 because of the notes section. I love that you can add a pic, but when I click to type a note, the keyboard on my phone covers the notes field. The notes field should be able to slide up above a smartphone keypad. I dont lile having to type a note, and not be able to see it. I love the look and feel!! It is easy to set, and the personal challenges keep me on my toes.
Saw a commercial on TV so thought I'd try it. Before I even opened it, wanted internet access and already sent me a water drinking reminder notification. Setup requires payment and this is a subscription only setup. Unless you manually edit it all. It all goes back to the sign up page. Not worth the headache when they put the money in front of the usability. Make it worth it to the user to pay, don't put everything behind a pay wall. Uninstalled. Going back to iFasting since that's way better.
The app is decently set up; colorful, easy to read, simple starting process. It goes through weight, height, if you're new to fasting, goals, etc.. pretty basic. Then it DOES indeed go through not one, but two screens that immediately offer/ask for you to join (with a 3 day trial available). There IS an "x" in the upper left corner to bypass this, but it is pretty well hidden in with the color scheme. There ARE 2 free plans if you bypass the payment offers; one auto 12 hour and one manual.
Great idea, but the money grab is too aggressive. Literally can't go 2 screens without a pop-up advertising premium. It think the goal is to annoy the user into subscribing. All premium pop-ups have the tiniest x (in a non-contrasting color), so when I first tried, it seemed like subscribing was the only way. If you're going to be that aggressive, you'll have better converisions if you give the user a couple days without annoying them. Then turn on the onslaught. I'll just keep fasting manually.
This in my opinion the best one! I like how it clearly shows you and reminds you when your fasting window opens and closes. Everything is easy to find too. I highly recommend. It also has different options and lengths of fasting times so you don't feel obligated to do the 16hrs . And it does not penalize you in anyway if you start or end your fasting early. Awesome app. Worth it. Makes the fasting process easy to track and understand. Much better than fastic.
Just started using it, but it does offer plenty of options for subscribers. For free users, there are only a few choices, but that's enough to get the idea of the app over time. After installing and setting up, the immediate offer to try the premium 3-day free trial or the $4.99 monthly subscription can be skipped by using the small 'x' in the upper left corner, potentially followed by a 59-hour, half-off $9.99 annual subscription. There's no indication of whether this is the renewal price.
So far the app has been very helpful in tracking my IF windows. I like the Learning feature that explains what is happening in your body, during specific timeframes, while fasting. I would have given 5 stars, if the app would allow you to go back and edit a previous day. Sometimes I forget to log all of my water or want to add a note, and you're unable to edit prior days. Otherwise...the app is great!
Paid for the year, thinking it will sync to my web account and ipad. No, it doesn't. So I'm stuck using it just on my phone. Plus there's a huge pay difference between this app and the one for the website. Not cool with not being able to sync my devices. I'll take the hit on this, but won't be renewing or buying separate subscriptions for my other devices.
Very irritating that there are only 2 free options - the 12-hour fast and a "manual" option so you can fast for an unspecified length of time. Also as a previous reviewer says, as soon as you sign up you are instantly given TWO prompts to sign up for a free trial of the paid version, and it's designed to all look like part of the sign-up so the 'x' to clear those prompts is almost hidden. Sneaky and underhand.
The app does what you need it to do like all other fasting apps i have tried. What i like about this one was the ability to put in a note and photo with it however when i go back and try to read the note it cuts off part of it. My note was quite lengthy and i could see the first few lines but not the whole thing which is expected on preview but when i click on the note to open it it does not allow me see the lines i read in preview and starts in the middle of my note. This is huge for me
Credit where credits due, I wasn't happy about having to sign up for a subscription to access the app, nor was I happy when after seeing that the app wasn't for me, there seemed no visible way to get a refund, but, contact with the developer provided an immediate refund. The app may not be for me but I needed an app to track alternate day fasting. In all other aspects the app looks perfectly suitable for all other forms of fasting and provides a full array of very useful extras too
Decent app, but completely ruined by constant ads. I wouldn't mind a one time payment to remove ads, but the developers are out of their mind if they think this app is worth a subscription. The UX is pretty, but I could set up an excel spreadsheet to do most of the functions of the app in 5 minutes.
Overall good app. I would like the ability to edit the fasting and eating windows. Also a bit more reading material on what's happening physiologically during each fasting stage would be great! It could even be links to approved reading material/media content. I found myself reading the little notes when I needed motivation to keep going.
Uninstalled in less than 5 minutes! The features available for free are nearly worthless. You can use ONE preset plan (12 hour fasting window) or a manual plan which is just a timer! The manual plan means you start a timer when you begin fasting and end the timer when you stop. It does let you edit the start time but you can't go back a day! Every action you take it pops up 1 (sometimes 2) full-screen ads asking you to subscribe to the paid version. App is worthless unless you subscibe.
Can't progress past "Start Plan" - it prompts me to subscribe for a 50% discount. When i click on the "X", it takes me back to the 'Start Plan" screen. When i click on "Start Plan" again, it loops me right back to the ad for the 50% discount. Regretfully uninstalled, looks like it could have been a nice app.
Trying to cancel subscription prior to the free trial ending. The subscription doesn't show up in my Google subscription list. Emailed support to request that they cancel and they directed me to Google after telling them that it's not in the subscription list. It's a vicious cycle and a stall tactic to ensure that I'm charged for a product I'm not satisfied with.
I uninstalled a free app to try this. I made space on the phone. And when it finally opened.... suddenly, it wants a credit card before proceeding to anything and turns out the app is a free three day trial but only if you give your card details first. I find this sneaky and annoying as it didn't say anywhere before I downloaded that it would require this. Uninstalled immediately.
I love this app. I find it really helpful and affordable. It's my first time doing intermittent fasting. Had it a couple weeks already seeing results. I wish it had a section where I could log my food and keep track of what kind of calories I'm eating. But overall very good. I love the daily challenges.
I started using the app and really enjoyed how everything looked but when I tried to start challenges I couldn't get it to work. I contacted customer support and I tried closing it out and trying again. Then, I uninstalled the app to try it fresh. If you do this it will erase your data and you will have to start again. Not worth it.
window is great, when it works. but i havent been able to use it because it constantly, randomy messes up my fasts. it will close my fasting window arbitrarily on its own. all. the. time. im really bummed and hope developers will fix this
Feels like a shake-down: The features provided by this app are way too simple to warrant paying for a recurring subscription and there are few enough free features that the number of subscription ads should never make using those free features actually cumbersome. I might have considered paying a small one-time fee for this app, but the hassle grossly outweighs any benefit as it is.
Just started using the app the other day. I can tell it's gonna be a hit for me, I get just the right amount of notifications where it doesn't feel intrusive. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I wish there were a setting that allowed me to begin my fast early without affecting the start of my next day's eating period. i don't like that if I end 30 minutes early, I get notifications that my eating period is starting 30 min earlier than I'd like. Great work otherwise!
It's really good! But it randomly stops fasting times sometimes and won't let you go back to the actual start time. Only sometimes though. Mostly it's great!
Broken. The app worked fine for my free trial. But as soon as I gave them money the app suddenly stopped working. The timer does not actually reflect how long I've been fasting, and when I tried to reset it to see if I could fix it, the app would not allow me to put in a start time that was in the past. I want my money back.
I am thoroughly enjoying this app. It's strange how I am so motivated to fast by using this app. I guess it is because it shows you how long you have fasted? You can also track your water intake! I am doing so good with both water and fasting! There are hints, tips and info as well. I am learning a lot and actually feeling so good about myself and feeling healthier! I have a lot more energy and my blood sugar is keeping quite a bit more level!!
The app has nice features, but they don't work well. It completely erased one whole day and makes it look like I took a break from fasting. It won't let me edit the date in the progress. So my timeline is incorrect. Grrr
I love the app and it's helping me stay on track. What I don't like is after recording my weight loss progress 3 times I can't add my weight anymore without paying. There should be some features for weight tracking that should be available without paying.
Buggy; keeps opening and closing my window randomly. Also just lost all my data. On top of that, I paid for an annual subscription, but suddenly (together with my lost data) it states I don't have a subscription although it should be good until October 2022. Will update if/when I hear back from support.
