WINDY - NOAA wind forecast
Windy is a handy wind forecast app for extreme sports based on wind and other outdoor activities (SUP, fishing, bike, RC pilotage).
Now we decided to build micro community on spots to exchange weather reports. If you want to be a local leader
- send us the name of the spot and we will add chat there (on [email protected]).
You can see all weather data on one screen. You can see at a glance wind conditions for next ten days in Windy-bar or find more precise details in Windy-table. Also check out our WOW-feature: animated wind map

Super good app, it's free, always give accurate information. I was in Portland Maine, I got a notification that the winds were picking up in my favorite beach. Grabbed my kite and the rest is history.
I'm a paraglider pilot with 25+ years experience so I'm very pleased to recommend this app. Of course, it's not always perfectly accurate - that's why independent studying of met/weather systems is important - but it often saves me time and money when I'm considering going to a distant flying site, but Windy says, "Nope!"
A lot of info which is good but it's rather confusing to someone new to it. Would be good to press on a field and get an explanation pop up etc. Also favourite places takes ages to load when you first open the app. It would be good for this to be done in the background before you open the app so it's always to to date.
I like the app, so much I upgraded to pro. Now app crashes constantly, so much my phone has told me to uninstall or put the app to sleep. App starts a week ahead, try to scroll to the left to see current weather and app crashes. Please fix or refund.
Very pretty. What's it all mean? I want windspeed in mph, all that jargon means nothing to me . I cannot find out how to alter settings to change knots to mph. I do not need a wind forecast, I need live updates on what the wind is actually doing as opposed to what the forecasters said it WOULD do. Uninstalling app . I just hope they don't charge me after the "free trial" because they do not show how to cancel that, I didn't want the paid version anyway but I don't seem to have been given choice.
App locks up and crashes every time I try to use it. Used to be great, now unusable. Fix it or refund my money. Edit 3.11.22: App seems to be fixed. Opens quickly with no time-out errors. Very useful now that it's useable again.
I've had this app for several months now. It is not worth the money they charge for it. The wind speed is constantly wrong and direction is a miss regularly. It's currently showing wind is 15 to 20 mph but, there's zero wind. Don't waste the money or effort of downloading.
I paid for usage and need it on my boat phone but only available on 1 device. Update: I emailed the support as requested but nobody really responds to those tickets. Don't pay for this app! It's just a scam.
Problem with my account has been fixed in a Fast, friendly, efficient manner. Fantastic customer support. It is rare to get such customer support like this these days. Keep up the Fantastic work.
Revised: The developers are super helpful, they sorted out the issues really fast. Great work! 26.12.2021 I just bought pro, but for some reason many pro features are not working, app constantly asks me to get pro (even though I have it), and on my Ipad it does not recognize that I have a pro account, when I log in with the same Google account... Great app, but buggy for now.
Very good. More accurate than MSW app. Cannot adjust the font size but overall info is good and accurate. If they added local surf cams would make it an epic app. Overall the menu is clear and accurate info.
A very useful app once I found all the ways to use it. The more I use it, the more I find about how it works. There really is a wealth of information on your screen. The app is very easy and intuitive to use, I would give it to anyone .
BEWARE... No way to unsubscribe . I okd trial but after 5 mins in the app decided it was not going to do what I need. There is no way to stop the trial and will charge you as soon as the trial is over. No way to stop it.
Almost all of the info you could possibly want. It would be 5 stars if the windsurfing setting included the tides, which is super important. Love this app
I paid a subscription through Google Play I think but I don't have access to anything extra, just keep being offered free trial.
App is constantly crashing... Favorites are not loading; the app wants to restart the whole time. Sorry for the 1 star, guys; it is just very annoying. Otherwise, all is cool - if I get the chance to use it 😄
The content is decent but when I explored pro a few red flags came up and I'm not going to subscribe for pro. You can play a puzzle and get a "reward". Mine was 50%off a 1yr subscription but was going to charge me $29.99. Odd, as the regular price for 1yr is $39.99. Math right? Well then I see they have a special for 30% off the regular price of $39.99 now for $29.99. So how was my puzzle price of 50% off, the same as the 30% off special at $29.99? Trickery is not appreciated.
I really appreciate this app & use it regularly during sailing season. One small suggestion that would improve Windy would be to change the font color (in wind gusts) so that we're not trying to read black text against a dark purple background.
I've been looking for degrees of the direction of winds. I know now the west winds row icon. But how many degrees between 180 and 360.....ie the left 1/2 circle. Thank you.
Weather aplication with lot information but UI is bad. Mode like wind, weather forecast has diferent style, forecast its to small, example tags new or pro its micro size.. Everything its to small if have sun light can not see small things. Outdoor aplication with micro UI.
Great app but has a flaw that bugs me. With latest update i am not able to click social icon. It's inactive.

App was rarely correct and there seems to be no way to stop them from charging your card if you no longer want the service.
After the update i lost the ability to create favorites. -1 ★. Fix this!

They hide their subscription! I did NOT want the pro service and they took my money! Don't download if you don't want to PAY!!!

I like Windy. I would pay for the upgrade if they had a perpetual license. I don't rent software. 4 would be 5 stars if not for that. [EDIT] Changed review to 5 stars. Dev responded. I am indeed ABLE to purchase a perpetual license, and just did!! Great service. Thanks
