data wise good, UI needs work: It seems impossible to set a preferred weather service, which is a downer, because the default service is horribly wrong almost all of the time. Luckily, you can change the service easily in the interface, but you have to do it manually every single time you use the app. UI could be more user friendly, but overall this is, so far, the most usable weather app of many I have tested. unfortunately, zero support, only some weird forum to post to, else I'd happily buy.
Great application - particularly the pro version which is just a few dollars more - for those who spend alot of time outdoors whether for recreational or professional purposes. It requires a bit of basic meteorological knowledge to fully appreciate though. It's very intuitive if you have more than a "view basic weather widget" knowledge of weather however
I love windy and it's my preferred weather info website by FAR. But The fact that the widgets won't auto refresh (unless I'm doing something wrong) is a deal breaker. I was about to subscribe to premium, until I noticed this issue.. Can't really recommend this app, sorry. (Devs, PLEASE tell me if I'm missing something because this is very disappointing. I'm using a Note 10+, other weather widgets refresh automatically)
A very well done app. Has everything needed in a neat display. The wind, temperature, progress, map, etc. The app also doesn't have ads interfering on the main screen. Looks very well done. Only issue is that checking the forecast is very inconvenient.
Good app. I subscribed to the Premium features while using Windy on my laptop computer, thinking the Premium features would also be in the Android version on my phone. Wrong. I still get asked to buy the Premium version. That is asking me to pay twice for the same app and seems unfair. I like Windy but not enough to have to buy it twice.
I love windy and use the mobile app and the desktop/web app extensively. One area for improvement that i would appreciate is the ability to turn lighting sounds off by default as well as different options or sources for the doppler. The doppler radar with the "smooth look" looks nice but does not always accurately show whats actually happening. I have found accuweather to be more percise in this manner. Thank you very much.
The best weather app! But when you set info you like to see you need to resest every time👎. Also more temps on main map EX.. Ottawa Canadas capitol is missing. It's very difficult to pinpoint a spot for info, I touch by great lakes & I get way up north?? Needs work today!!
The weather provider ECMWF is the worst in my area. Since 2017, you can find people online asking to change their default to GFS, and 5 years later, they have been unable to provide this very basic function. Deleted the app once again after reinstalling to see if I could set my provider. This app is useless in its current state.
very very very inaccurate at best. I'm in the ocean around the southern gulf islands and have been shocked and amazed repeatedly by windy especially. I only use it still as a fourth opinion. this is not a good review by the way. I could have lost my life and my boat and my pregnant wife because I trusted the data. I suggest get yur stuff together or shut it down.
Great looking radar and wind animations, but seems to be missing a legend for the radar. It's hard to differentiate between rain and snow.
Really like how much information there is, but at the same time I don't because I can't find any sort of legend or key to tell what everything means. Some overlays are self explanatory, but ones like the clouds I have absolutely no clue if it means there's a lot of clouds or no clouds, and what's with the blue dots? It might be user error, but I wish there was a way to see what each color meant for the overlay so the data could be better understood.
Beautiful interface, intuitive, accurate and easy to use. One of the nicest forecast apps. Does a lot more than wind too
Paid for premium app, but developer now ceaselessly pushes customer to buy a subscription, with no option to decline. Either the app is ad-free, or it isn't. I'm done with Windy. (In response to the developer reply, there should be an option to disable the subscription ad. I shouldn't have to dismiss it every time I load. Too bad, my rating stands.)
Your app is not at all accurate. I am in an are that according to your app there is 40 mph wind gusts, and I should not be driving my CMV. I'm actuality there is no discernable with gusts and is very safe to proceed down the road. I need information that is accurate. I pay money for inaccuracies. Come on. I drive an 80,000 pound vehicle
Given how strong the winds have become in SE MN in recent years, this is the most useful weather app I have ever seen. I am amazed by the clean and efficient interface. This is great. Thank you!
The best whether app I've seen so far. It would be perfect if there was a setting to choose default map layer instead of "wind"
Heptic feedback quit working recently. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it still doesn't work. It is turned on. Android 11. Please fix to get a 5 star rating. Thanks!
I have found windy is one of the best weather apps, well worth paying the subscription to help support the creators. One feature I would like to see added to the app is the ability to compare the forecasted wave heights between the three available weather models, the function to compare forecasts currently does not include wave height data, perhaps it would be good if the compare forecast function could be made customizable for selected weather criteria.
The info provided is really excellent. The app would merit 5 stars if the settings icon on widget weren't completely unresponsive, and if the widget were expandable; all that excellent data and all the text, and even the charts, are too small to discern properly.
Excellent app with lots of options and clear access to different weather parameters, reports and multiple forecast models. Good detail levels for phone use. Not sure how to rate 'ease of use': it's complicated because of the Info and alternatives available. If you want (believe) single-paragraph forecasts (I don't), look elsewhere. Would be nice to add polar views for pressure/winds at various altitudes (as wettere.de)
