Winegard – TV Signal Finder
Finding the available TV satellites and free over-the-air HDTV towers for your geographic location has never been easier. The smart Winegard TV Signal Finder app makes it simple to determine the correct position of your antenna to receive the available signals. This app uses your current location to search for the available signals for your favorite channels. Avoid obstructions with the augmented reality (AR) view.
Dual-mode app allows you to find free HDTV TV Towers with the Antenna Pointer mode or to locate TV satellites per provider with the Satellite Pointer mode:
- Antenna Pointer - Use the top-down map view to locate all HDTV TV towers closest to your address or GPS location. Eliminate signal obstructions such as trees, hills, and buildings by switching to the AR view. Simply point your phone to the horizon and rotate 360 degrees to bring into view your desired TV tower and find the best location to point your antenna. The number displayed above a tower indicates the number of channels available. Tap the tower icon to see full channel details.
- Satellite Pointer - Use the AR view to locate DISH, DIRECTV, BellTV, or Shaw Direct satellites available for your mobile antenna. Simply point your phone at the southern sky to locate your target satellites and stay clear of signal obstructions such as trees and buildings. Azimuth and elevation pointing look angles are provided for easy pointing and setup of manual antennas.

This app requires the use of the camera, GPS, and compass in your smartphone. Compass accuracy is based on calibration and distance from large objects that may cause magnetic interference.

I don't get the importance of this app. We travel full time so we are always rescanning for stations.. just because this app shows a great signal does not mean the stations will come in.
It sees 2 towers only and list 5 channels. In reality, where i am there are a lot more towers and over 40 channels. VERY POOR. Great idea if it actually worked. The app has no real settings or options to improve what it should pick up. UNINSTALLING Oh well.
A perfect example of bad programming. I opened the app and it immediately goes to a page of Terms and conditions. The page is blank. Can't check "Accept Terms and conditions" and can't continue. Exasperating !
This app is junk. It only shows 1 channel that is in my area and their is 32 channel's in my area. The one channel that it does show is 30 miles off from were the tower is, the town were it shows the tower is in a another town 30 miles to the southwest. I don't know who made this app but needs to do some major work on this.
I really like the idea here, but many of the frequencies and locations are wrong for my area because of the latest spectrum auction and the resultant channel sharing and frequency changes.
The frequencies are 2+ years out of date. They are not correct. The repack (2+ years ago) is not reflected in this app. Anyone using this app is being mis-guided. DO NOT USE UNTIL THEY UPDATE TO CORRECT INFORMATION.
this app stopped working all I get is a terms and conditions, only the page is empty as far as the wording its blank. The only thing there is cancel or accept and you can't click on it. This was a great app. please fix.
*Update* Winegard just sent out an update, and now the App works Great. I don't know what is going on with this App, used to work just fine on my Moto Z Force running Android 8 Oreo, but when I upgraded my phone to Moto Z4 Play running Android 9 Pie it not only will not let accept the Terms of Service, it does not even display them. Like I said I don't know what is going on, JUST FIX IT!
This app will not let me accept terms to continue. only decline. Terms are not visible. Have given access to all it wanted on my Samsung Note 9. Husband has been able to accept and continue plus see satellites to set up our Dish TV Playmaker. We camp and fish. App is worthless to me but Husbands works fine. Fix!!!!!
This "update" broke this program and i can't even see the terms of service and accept them. Without accepting the terms you can't run the apk!! They should have left it alone because it use to work. Fix it and i will change my review! In it's current format this application is useless so i can' t rate it better
Not helpful. App insists that North is South and South is North. I recalibrate my compass and then open the app up again and it screws it all up again. It comes with no directions about how to use the app. At least it is free? I guess I'll just stick my antenna up and hope for the best.
Love using this app, works awesome. It shows you where all the satellite are. So there is no guessing where to put your dish. From dish network to directv and more. And it work for air HD channels also.
Silly thing asks to read terms and conditions before proceeding. Page remains whited out loading forever. Nothing. Checking the accept box unchecks itself. Nothing appears to read. Same as when trying to view Winegards website about outdoor amtennas. Wont load.
Usage not well explained. Did not indicate antenna had to be plugged in to work. Though the app showed digital towers, when using virtual reality mode, none appeared on the display to show the direction to point the antenna
Best app for figuring out which direction to point your antenna to pick a specific tower/channel. Yes, it uses your camera to show you where the tower is.
Running an Android 9.0 smartphone. Winegard broke the app with the new "upgrade". As others have stated, can't get past the Terms & Conditions" because the only allowed choice is DECLINE. Someone at Winegard needs to actually test the app before releasing it. Works again! Good news. But why is Dish Echostar 10/11 that's always been orbital 110W shown in the Winegard app as 111?
It worked good right away from installation. You move your phone until you find the target (tv repeater) and match it with the red circle. The position of the phone in your hand shows you how to turn your antenna. Easy also for a kid.
reviews are funny. no body has a problem giving facebook camera access. it uses your camera so you can stand behind your antenna looking at the horizon on your phone with a marker placed on the horizon to point tward. and no your phone doesnt need a compas, it uses gps positioning so you do need clear view of the sothern sky for it to work. it is for real rooftop antennas and towers at serious distance therfore yes dont waste your time if you live in nyc!! Figured i would be the 1 in 10 happy rev
**UPDATE** App was fixed 7/13/19. Now works again. Rating upgraded back to 5 stars. Very useful app now crashes after last update. Please fix! This has happened before. Poor quality control on updates reduces a 5 star app to 3 stars.
This app WAS the best app for my traveling. New update will not work on my Samsung S9 but does work on my wife's S4 phone. Need this bug to be fixed to rebuild the Winegard reputation.
Waited for 72 minutes to talk to Customer Service. We bought the Winegard Connect to use while camping- away from cities. Unfortunately, it only works in cities. Don't waste your money.
This was my go to app when traveling in my RV, but it is now broken and will not download any data. Please fix! Update: app is fixed and is working again. Thank you.
installed and open app goes to a blank gray page with Terms and Conditions header. A check box visible but nothing happens when trying to check it. POS App!
Same as other comments: I can't accept Terms and Conditions that won't load. if i can't accept the T&Cs, i can't accept and access the lab. the antenna works, but i can't recalibrate it for better reception. shoddy reception now.
Terrible app. Won't go beyond the terms and conditions page. Won't let me check the box to accept the terms and continue. Samsung galaxy phone
This App works great on my LG G8 ThinQ phone. Finally got our HDTV antenna dialed in! Don't waist your money buying one of those cheep, crummy signal strength meters. Just learn to use the AR mode in this App and get it done.

Only shows tower locations on map. Does not show direction to aim based on location. Uninstall, waste of time
the location of the satellites are off from where my satellite dish is pointed. 10/16/19 just checked app again and still pointing wrong.
Broke after update. Used to work well. Not anymore. Now it will open but when I select Satellite finder it goes to a loading page and gets stuck there. I uninstalled, reinstalled and now it opens to a Terms and Conditions page which is blank and won't let me hit accept to move on. This sucks because this was a very useful app. Do better Winegard!!
