WINIX SMART for C545

Absolute trash! App does not complete filter registration process, even when connected to a 2.4 GHz network. When you do get the app+filter registered, the app does not work properly. It either crashes during launch or loses connection, which means that it won't be able to control the filter, and this is a common occurrence, happens twice or thrice a week. Winix support's response: "ReInStALl tHe ApP"... No sнit, I've been doing that every single time. The filter is being returned to Costco,lol

Since I've had the app there have been quite a number of issues that have been slowly resolved. One issue that hasn't been resolved is if you leave the app open in the background, it gets extremely buggy. Either I get the screen that says "tap to add a device" OR the filter shows up but I won't be able to interact with it at all. Sometimes I get the message that it's offline. This happens EVERY time. My remedy is that I (hard) close the app out (not just going home) and reopening it.

I keep getting kicked out of the app, and Everytime I try to log back in, it gives me an error message "Login Failed". I will then have to uninstall the app and reinstall, and it works again... Until the next time I get kicked out and the same thing keeps happening over and over. UPDATE (2022/03/30) I don't know how they made the app worse with an update, but they did... Won't even load now and keeps crashing... Really?

Could use more streamlining. The air quality in and outside should be on the main page and you should beable to set times for it to be in different modes not just auto, like allow for a more advanced tuning for people who want that and leave the generic for the basic user. I Know I heard the plasmawave work once as I heard the weird sound it said not to be alarmed by but wince then never has it done it (not a bad thing but should log when it does use that feature so you know its working)

The controls are horrible. It's hooked up to wifi and I can't change the fan speed or shut the light off 75% of the time. It's been happening on every version of the app. I have to uninstall the app and reinstall and sometimes that works but not always.

Crashes immediately after update I removed the app and reinstalled. It crashes immediately after selecting a country. I tried multiple countries and still crashes. Each time I removed and reinstalled. I believe it is incompatible with the new android OS recently pushed, One UI 4, as it started right after that OS update. So it's dead for use right now for many of us.

The app is so easy to use and convenient. I wish the indicator light wasn't so bright at night. I want it on because of the sound and filtration so sleep mode is not an option. A post it note to cover the light perhaps?

If this crash at startup issue is not corrected or revirted back to it's previous version. Am afford I my have to return this WIFI edition for a full refund. It is totally useless without the mobile application. I still have a few more days to submit a damaged, Broken unit RMA. I really hope the developers are taken this issue as priority #1 as a see millions of downloads which also means none controllable units consumers has out there.

DO NOT BUY THIS AIR FILTER! APP NEVER WORKS! Really I rate 2.5 🌟 The app has a 50/50 chance of working. It is quite annoying when it decides it doesn't want to work. I do have the highest tier of internet service and all my other devices work just fine. Should have read up about the air filter since that is the major complaint about it. NOW I wish I could give it no stars. As I just updated: now the app will not open, air filter doesn't listen to Alexa, and can only be controlled manually.

Absolutely doesn't work. I get to the part where it connects to the purifier, but then the app exits out of the setup screen and returns to the home screen.

The app opens, then crashes. I have cleared cache, cleared data, uninstalled and reinstalled. Also, it won't work with a smart switching network, so I have to change my router config for this one device just to connect it to the network.

Latest update seemed to break things as others are reporting. Logging in failed. Said my email did not exist. When I signed up it said my email already existed. Finally got in through making a new account. It shows my 545 but anytime I use the controls on the app, the controls show no visual indicator that something has been selected. I cannot tell what state the purifier is in unless I physically look at the unit. All very broken. Had no issues before.

All was working fine until this latest update. Before update I had total remote control of my 2 wifi enabled purifiers with either voice or through the app. Now when I try to open the app after update, it just flashes the winix logo then crashes. I tried clearing the storage data and cache, then uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still does not open. I only see the splash screen briefly when I try to open it then it crashes. Galaxy Note 10+ (Android 12)

Appears as though 'invalid email' error shows when you attempt to login using your old credentials. Turns out, it's that the email doesn't exist. I suspect they had a breach and they simply reset everything for everyone. I created a new account and was able to sign in again. Something fishy going on.

If you don't use the app often, it will log you out automatically. Also, there's times when I can't even use the app. I find myself removing the app and installing it again and again because after selecting the country, the app will just completely close. If it wasn't for the filter life feature on the app, I would not even waste my time.

Was working fine and then mysteriously just crapped out. Won't even open now -- or rather, opens and then immediately crashes out. Tried resetting user data; was able to get as far as picking language, and then back to crashing. Get it together, Winix.

Can't connect, tried on both a Pixel 3XL and a Samsung Galaxy S22. App crashes immediately after "successful" connection. I have had nothing but problems with the app and the air purifier. This is actually my second unit as I had to warranty the first one due to a different error.

Another update and another time that the app has failed. App force closes every time you try to open it. I've tried reinstalling the app. I select my country and it force closes every time again. This is the third update in a row. At least that has broken the app.

Connects quickly, setup was easy. All functions work well except I am unable to update firmware. App loss like it tries but then the firmware update box closes. Please let me know how to push the firmware update.

$500 air purifiers with a $5 app and a 5 cent wifi module. Winix is great if they never tried to do wifi. Returning my unit because the wifi is an absolute disaster. Update: Just when this app couldn't get any worse, the latest update has bricked the app. It opens then force closes instantly. Winix get your act together!

I wish it gave you the ability to customize the name of each room but otherwise it does what it is supposed to & is intuitive to use. Bug fixes are done promptly & usually around 24 to 36 hrs after reporting. GREAT JOB !!!!!!

This app is utter garbage! Every time they fix one issue, another issue pops up... Now the app won't even open? Come on people, it's not really that hard. Literally JUST an app to control an air purifier, how can you keep getting it so wrong?

A bad app just got worse. After the most recent update, the app just crashes and will not open. I deleted the app and reinstalled and it still won't open. Obviously, no testing was done before pushing out this update.

The air purifier I got is great, this app however is pure garbage. It took about 10 mins just to connect to the purifier then to my network. It was working fine until the app updated and lost the connection. I tried to reconnect it and it just won't. Each attempt taking about 10 mins. It won't reconnect again. STOP UPDATING THIS TRASH APP!!! Every time it's updated with no improvements whatsoever, it gets disconnected from the purifier and I have to uninstall and reinstall again and connect it. What kind of monkeys are writing this app?

Full of bugs that make it pointless to use. I'm constantly logged out of the app which at times requires more steps than just logging back in because of some strange bug mentioned in other posts. Quite often the contol won't contol the unit and I can tap all I want on a setting, but nothing happens. This is just a sneaky way to collect customer info. I won't be buying another Winix product. Remove the login requirement and make the remote work all the time.

App seems to work so far but...Winix supports Amazon Alexa but not Google Home? Of the thousands of device brands that do work with Google Home it looks like Winix doesn't. That means I can't integrate my $300 air filter into any home automation. Meanwhile, literally every other smart device I own supports Google Home.. ceiling fans, door locks, lightbulbs, cameras, consoles, TVs, fridge, speakers, garage door opener.. everything but this. Kind of ridiculous, wouldn't you agree, Winix?

The app itself works well. However, the app regularly logs you out and you need to log back in. When you try to log back in the app tells you the username/password combo can't be found. Working with online help the recommendation is to delete and reinstall the app. Worse, the 'reset password' feature does not actually do anything. Last, when I created an account online then tried signing in online, the app told me my password wasn't long enough, so I couldn't sign into my brand new account

Latest update borked. I used to have no issues with this app but one of the recent updates broke it and now it crashes every time it's opened. Very frustrating.

This is the actual worst app I think I've ever used. Once you get it set up, it works great. Problem is, I can't even tell you the number of times I've had to uninstall and reinstall the app to deal with the same bugs everybody else has already mentioned. I don't see myself being a repeat customer. It's a shame, because functionally, the air purifier itself is great. But there's also other good brands that probably have better apps.

Every time I go to login to this app it says my password is wrong and won't login so I have to reset my password to login and change any settings which takes forever for the verification email to arrive btw, usually I have to spam the reset button until the emails start coming in. I've waited DAYS for the email to come through if I only hit it once and it never came through until I spam it. If I didn't have this issue I'd give it 4 stars.
